- The Lonely Tower fractal has been the subject of some controversy amongst the fractal community, largely due to its final boss - Eparch - having rather a lot of HP amongst a pretty manic fight. Well, fear no more, for this strategy will turn Fractal 100 from a chore into a breeze!

Even if this boss is easy, this fight lacks one thing - fun.
I am still amazed that they release frac that people hate more than silent surf.

A very well done guide, thanks for making it! I've been using this strategy since seeing it on your stream and clearing with no issues.
Currently Potion of Demon Slaying doesn't work in the fractal (or Kryptis enemies in general in other content also it seems). Sigil of Demon Slaying however does work, but only on Eparch (also works on Kryptis enemies). Consistency from Anet as always.

It is really short if your group can actually stack with 30k+ dps without dying.
For most of my experience though pugs will lose their mistlock on (hopefully not) the first big wave, run around looking for globules getting boon corrupted and then die while getting sucked in.
Which becomes like some maybe 10k dps average if they're not going down during cc phase.

Also, for the acrane chest mini game, you can interact with the purifier while dodging to get to do it without the mobs spawing. Will probably be fixed at some point.
Those slimes used for globule visualization are killing me.

Im guessing you are keeping the orb mechanic explanation for the CM video? I think it would have been interesting to mention how some increase player dmg and cc, even if the lifesteal gets "fixed" its likely it will still be interesting to take for optimisation (hopefully)
spent an hour on this boss and whole grp decided to skip lonely tower after that, thx for this guide. hopefully i can make this work next time its in rotation.. Also there's no way anet was designing this fight and thought this was the way people had to play to complete it?.......... right????????
Understandable, this fight is a coin toss on whether or not your group has the skill to clear it. I've only ever done this twice in T4.
I'm not sure tbh lol, it's not immediately obvious how the devs wanted you to tackle this one. This strat does work very well though so there is that.
I think whenever a community makes an unintended strategy to get past an encounter, it doesn't necessarily make the devs incompetent. As long as the strat is fun to pull off... it's a good fight regardless if its intentional.
But unlike Boneskinner, Whisper, and a bunch of Fractal tricks/shortcuts...
Eparch is just boring and a mess to look at. Its just visual clutter for the sake of "looking complex" without having any cohesion.
Its like one of the devs wiped a smear of ketchup from their mouth and was like "this. this is the new fractal"

As long as the boss doesn't move over an AoE, Elementalist should be perfectly safe inside his hitbox. During spin double dodge is enough to survive.
during the weeks (or months) where silent surf was bugged and you wiped every time on 66% i still did that fractal every single day and i hate that fractal
since the release of lonely tower i completed it once for the title and never touched it again, its so much worse (in cm)
so focus regret and envy, dps unga bunga in boss, dodge / jump the wave
My only issue with this fractal is actually the instabilities and the CM jank. They absolutely did not play this themselves with No Pain No Gain + Afflicted before releasing it because it is fucked how bad those instabilities make the Eparch fight.Add onto that the fact that the CM mechanics make no sense. Right now you basically need to use a power dps with strong cleave and high gluttony stacks to attack the rifts in the split phase to break them quickly. The rifts aren't even targetable so this seems unintended, but the seemingly intended strategy to kill the adds and seal the rifts results in a long time to kill the adds and then Eparch coming down with 20 stacks of everything when you're done. This CM should have been delayed and the instabilities need to be adjusted if they're going to make this so stupidly challenging for what is supposed to be daily content.
so have a super good healer who take all the orbs and heal the group enough to skip all the domage

I think it's not only about the mecanics of this fractal but the reward are shit compared to the effort given to do it
fractal 99 is easy this one is hell, everything do domage and we all die. the red circle vacuum one shot at some point and its impossible to take all the orbs
Maybe it's because i haven't been doing fractals for years, but I have 0 hatred for this frac. Silent surf was waaaaay worse on launch. I think this is a step in the right direction. Sure some tweaks are welcome but theres worse fractals to have to do

Ohh. There are no phases for normal mode?
It only has some sort of "phases" on CM, at 66 & 33%, when he summons 2>3 portals which can only be destroyed by a player stacking the ORANGE essence. But everything else remains the same.
Last 2 fractals are complete trash. Surely raid wing 8 will be good....surely...
I bet it will be reused bosses from the main story.

No, this one is actually REALLY fast (about 5-6 minutes) when you get it down.

@@nestorarcilaosorio2457 All of the footage in this video is actually from pugs, the only consistent member is the creator of the strategy magicagw2. This is 100% doable for all gamers. You can even see us explaining the strat to the pugs in party chat!

Any normal player can beat 30k dps on a stationary boss on any class. I'd recommend a RUclips called Downstate Ele that puts out simplified rotations without weaponswap that break 30k on dps and 20k on boon dps. The longer this fractal is out and more people can respond to mechanics the dps uptime will only increase until its standard to take 6-7 minutes to complete. Less than most fractals that force you to wait around like swampland or Jade Maw
