In this episode we head to San Diego, CA to visit the folks at Dark Arts Surfboards. Кино
Noel, honestly like how you rode the Dark Arts...very good
Justin is such a cool cat. Those boards look and feel incredible. A Sharpeye in Dark Arts will DEFINITELY be my next order just as soon as the boss gives me the green light.
At the surf shop: "OK cool I'm really stoked with this board, i'll be back....just need to pass it by the finance minister" loool
Dark Arts In White ❤
Noel salas has by far the best surf channel
Hi Peter from South Africa, this is the best show you ever had, nice work
Keep it up
That was sick and those boards look incredible, expensive but incredible!! 😁
great EP. good info
Wow that was super insightful Noel 🤙🏽
Great great episode congrats and thanks for such good quality information
Such a cool shop over next to 32nd Street Base San Diego. Highly recommend. My fav DA board is the Pyzel Red Tiger XL
Loved this, Cheers Guys
thanks Noel you are the best!
can you also give us a review of the lost x libtech shortround surfboard please?
You should do a review on the CI pro, I heard it rips
Would love it if you can get some hands-on time with some of the JT models…Dad bod, jawnt, variant. It’s one thing to say “I know I love the inferno so I’ll get it in DA” but I’ve seen very few that’ve really tried the JT’s
I own a JT Dad bod. I am 5'11, 170 lbs. I can tell you that is by far the best board I've ever ridden. It is explosive, and picks up speed so quick. I got scared because it is also the shortest board I've ever ridden (5'5) but man, that thing is so much fun. After trying this one I can tell you all my future boards will be dark arts as well. Hope that helps!
Just ordered a Sharpeye 77 in Dark Arts the other day as a good wave counterpart to my IF72 in Dark Arts that’s my daily. I’ve liked the Dark Arts feel so much that I felt like going PU on the 77 would’ve been a major downgrade.
I was assuming they were using pre-preg carbon fiber and vacuum bagged in an autoclave. Not sure why they can justify the cost of a traditional hand lay-up style construction that is identical to a fiberglass lay-up. We were making boards the same way back in 05 after Clark Foam went out for a bit. Cost wasn't nearly as high as the dark art boards. People didn't like them either so we went back to fiberglass.
look forward to a review of album boards in these constructions!
Matt Parker said “he doesn’t see the value in our reviews.” Sorry I tried to get a couple Album sleds for review.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 ??!! I am picking my jaw up from the floor. Short sighted.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 Does that mean you only review from shapers/brands that offer boards to you? Do you ever pick a board off the shelf that interests you or your followers and review it for your community? Love your reviews btw - really informative and honest, so no complaints but just wondering how boards 'come up' for review. Cheers R
@@rayon1967 I mostly work with the bigger board brands as it helps surfers worldwide. I bought the Machado Go Fish off the rack at HSS in Huntington Beach when it first came out and did that review. Most boards I review are highly requested and the rest I choose by what I think our community will like and suit them best.
That’s interesting considering Matt Parker done some collab reviews with skipper surf. A little bit hypocritical one might say
How strong are they and how long should one last?
It really depends how often you surf and how hard you are on boards. I will trash a stock PU/Poly if I surf it everyday for 30 days. I’m really hard on boards and I pressure dent them pretty bad after 1 session. These Dark Arts pressure dent a lot less and the pop will last a long time compared to a PU/Poly.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 I surf daily and have the same results with poly as you and why I ask. Thanks, I will assume they are as strong but no more resilient than my Firewire's. THANKS!!!!
I want to be a surfboard shaper!!!!!!
Thank you again ! Can you compare dark arts construction with helium 2 ?
No contest… Dark Arts is more explosive.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 thank you for your quick response :) I already have a mashup in 5’9 and hesitate to buy a gremlin in 5’8 dark art (I’m 5’10, 160lb)
Can I go a litre smaller than my current shortboard?
I say yes… but it depends on the board type and if you are surfing choppy conditions. Talk to the folks at Dark Arts.
Are they using pre-preg at any model?
Not sure… sorry
@@surfnshowreviews7777 i think maybe they could try some unifiver pre-preg carbon... It works on hi performance boats or windsurf boards and staff like that... I ussually work with those kind of constructions and ever think that It would work on surfboards 👌👌👌
Congrats for the videos! I always enjoy them!
def not ... the bond to the foam would not be consistent
Is FireWire a dirty word
What's the benefit of the vacuum? anybody?
It sucks the excess making it so much lighter - it will feel like it slips out of your hands the first time you pick it up. XD
An unrelated question for ya. Do doctors that cared for you think that your degenerative hip was related to surfing over the years? thanks
Surfing, soccer, skateboarding, running…. Going hard my whole life. That’s what the doctors said
@@surfnshowreviews7777 … and so what you need to do to regenerate your body to repair the damage is eat more 'nose to tail' animal product, cut the starches (tortillas, chips, bread, potatoes, popcorn, you name it, yep),… and then as you find suitable with fruits, greens, veggies, beer, and salt. Seriously on the nose to tail and the starch elimination,…. so, besides beef/other-ruminants, glandular meats, pig skin (pork fritanga for example), whole sardines in water with skin not skinless (although heads are cut off, liver's usually not in there, but would be best if it was kept), etc.
@@bonsummers2657 Jesus what terrible advice 🤦♂️
@@henrywalton5967 It's the matter of efficient regenerative repair and body integrity. It's correct advice for healthy and best body integrity. I know this very well and so do many other people,…. except the Vegan-camp.
@@henrywalton5967 How do you recommend to most vitaly and efficiently regenerate/maintain/repair the body?
