This theme is a very bizarre contrast to the Labyrinth floor it's played on. You're just walking around on the most serene floor yet, enter a battle, and then this them plays while you're being slaughtered by giant mushrooms with razor teeth. I freaking love this game.
Because the 6th stratum is literally a cage holding all the dangerous experiments overlord couldn't control, it's the lions den, maintained well and being a nice place but what lives there is anything but nice
What makes Shiver work so well is that the Forbidden Forest isn't, at first glance, a place of immediately obvious danger. Other Stratum 6 dungeons, like say, Etrian IV's, are ten pounds of NOPE in a 5 pound bag, and you also have Etrian III's, which is unnerving, but not necessarily that dangerous. Etrian II's, though? Beautiful scenery and things that will end your life if you look at them askance.
I would disagree with 3's not being dangerous. The Stratum is almost entirely composed of the Abyssal God itself. At all times, its watching you, and at any moment, could decide to crush you, or shift so that you get lost forever. It doesn't because you are insignificant to it.
Did you know that theirs like 5 or 6 official arrangement/remixs of this song its unbelievable! (Not that I hate the song or anything, I'm just saying)
Too bad Battles never take more than 1 minute to end, I almost never listen the 1:38 - 2:19 part without Draggin' on with weak attacks or not speeding up combat.
You beat the last boss in the 5th stratum. You feel amazing, having finished the game for the first time. Credits roll. Load up your save, game tells you there's a place you haven't been yet. You go there. You take 1 step and get blown to pieces by the first thing you see. This is why everyone says EO is so hard.
+Game Guy95 You encounter a Mokele-mbembe. It looks like the Sauroposeidon from the 2nd Stratum. In fact, it opens the battle by entering a ready position. You rummage through your bag and find a stray Blast Grenade that you somehow haven't used in a while. Sure, let's have Flavio chuck it to stagger the creature, no sw-- Half your party is toasted by Electric Impact before Flavio can even move.
Wow, you have no taste, this one litterally is just random guittar ignoring the original composition completely, at least the other had a good composition with bad instruments, this one feels completely out of place with the original stratum music
It may be just me, but this version just pales in comparison to the original DS version. It really doesn't have the impact the original version has, and I think it's the introduction of the Heavy Metal, though, strangely enough, the Yggdrasika version is also metal, and his awesome. I feel that there was too much effort for this version of the song, and not enough drums/bass. Kind of a disappointment, as this was a favorite of mine in the original.

The remake is great. It's just almost completely different track now. More bass, less high sounds.

In story mode this music plays during the *proper* battle with Yggsdrasil Core as well, which gives plenty of time to listen to this song.
