These are some of the BEST Tamiya build videos on the internet, bar none!!!! Very clear thought out, and understandable language used to convey the process, without constantly repeating things. Not a lot of extra unnecessary mumbo jumbo talk, that sometimes does nothing but confuse the builder. They are really a joy to watch and listen to!!!! The hobbyist truly has a wonderful advocate they can turn to while building these awesome Tamiya tractors. Thanks so very much for taking your time to put these great videos together!!!
While I was a kid in the 80's when cab-overs were a common sight on the roads, and while I always preferred the standard nose style, specifically Peterbuilt being that we share the name. Many years later I made a career change and found myself driving big bucket and line (crane) trucks nearly every day for 8 or 9 years before getting the foreman job that comes with a new Ford F550 diesel take home truck. Anyway, sometimes I had to drive one of the older 1989 to 1991 cabover Peterbuilt bucket or line trucks, and while they rode failry smooth, the feel sooo wide even though all the new amd old trucks bodies are all the same 8' wide, but the cabovers put the front 2 seats right up in the front corners so you need to get used to driving a big truck from an unusual position, in front of the front wheels, as far forward and to the left as possible. Because of this the amount of room is minimal for such a huge vehicle. Im 6'6" 245 and the massive steering wheel is in the way, I dont have nearly enough leg room and its by far the worst truck to sleep in when we are working storm doing our 40 hour shifts with 8 hour breaks between. Then with the air suspension seats in the cabovers with the seats ahead of the front axle, Ive hit the ceiling so hard, countless times after going over bumps or dips in the road, like crossing intersections of 3 or more lanes where the crossing road is raised a bit in the center, causing the front end to swing up and down rapidly. Numerous times the little button on the top of my baseball hat has cut my head from smashing the roof so hard. No broken neck thankfully, but it has happened in the past.
I always wondered if anybody noticed about stamp metal parts that has round side and sharp side. I'm glad that you mention it. I think it's absolutely important especially when you use E clips and washers for oil dampers.
wow I completed my globeliner 20 years ago! crazy it still hasn't change much even the packaging is the same! it took me about 6 hrs I think .. great build!
I ran into a small problum with the servos. They are to tall so the floor won't fit to the frame. I added 4 spacers and lowered the servos and now the floor will fit right. I posted some picture on the Facebook page 1/14 Tamiya Truck Open Studio.
Fantastic video my friend! I have built two trucks now and I watch all of your videos as you can never learn too much by watching them!! I look forward to the Globe Liner I might have to pick one up now to add to my collection!!
Dieses Video ist Super gemacht, Vielen Dank, ich habe mir auch einen Bronco gekauft. In English: This video is great, thank you very much, I also bought a Bronco
Can't wait to start my Globe Liner!! As you saw... I ordered a set of King Hauler Frame Rails from you. I wanted mine to be just a bit longer, but still a manageable length. 😉
Hahaha, everything you have there for your Globe Liner, i also have used for my Globe Liner lol 😂 . The Globe Liner is my favourite Tamiya truck. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧🚛
Cool, I might pick up a truck someday, I want to get back into rc, had to sell my rc vehicles because I needed the money unfortunately but I really miss it and want to have fun again building and running something
One thing I found out back in the 1970s is that the standard for Phillips head screws in Japan are different than here in the states. American Phillips head drivers will not fit Japanese Phillip head screws. They call it the JIS standard. I used to work on old Japanese motorcycles back in the day and on almost every bike that had an oil filter cover secured by Phillips head screws were stripped out by American owners using American type drivers. Old 1960s and 70s Hondas were notorious for this.
Great content...wish you had a top down view or even a camera opposite from you?? Don’t own any line haul trucks yet and all my rc’s are rtr crawlers...going to build my first kit of something this winter.
Everyone seems to say that the stock 27T motor is way too fast making the truck too tippy through turns. I was just wondering if a 34T or 55T would be better. I would like to have my rig have an ok amount of speed but still be stable through turns.
hi i,m new to building trucks ,just got a globeliner to build ,great videos very informative , i have the tamiya starter kit comes with 2 servo,s ,if i wanted to have a uncoupling will i need another servo?
thanks bob very informative i,ll be watching all your videos you make it look so easy but alas i know i,m gonna get in trouble with this build @@HobbyconceptsLLC
Bob, What ever happened to the customer build where he sent you a smoke generator to be used for the build? I assume it wouldn't fit anywhere. It would be the ultimate finish for a truck with working stacks. Great videos, always enjoy them.
Tamiya does have a radio but it is pretty inferior to most of the radios we use (only 4 channels). The do make a push button radio that is not legal in the U.S.
Hi there I have a question for you I have a knight hauler and futaba T6l controller that all works except I have to change gears from right to left could you give me some advice why this could be and maybe how I can fix it.
I needed one of those extra servo horns before I even finished building my Mercedes Actros (Similar to the Globeliner, just a little more streamlined). The servo-saver 3-piece unit the model came with was simply too fragile after changing hands for over a decade...in Arizona garages...without ever being built until I got it.
Hi there I'm new to RC trucks I have been watching your videos and I'm wondering how much does it cost to start off with one of those trucks in the video that I have been watching cost and whereabouts do I get one from how much for my first truck
The trucks are designed for on road use. They can handle some rougher surfaces but to go in grass etc. mot so much. You can lock up the diffs etc. but the suspension travel is limited.
Hi Bob. I’m Mike from New Zealand. I really enjoy your builds of the Tamiya trucks etc. I have a question for you about the sealed ball bearing kits for the trucks that you build. Where do you buy the sealed bearing kits from is it from Tamiya? I’m building the tow truck that built in a previous video.
Oh thank for the long tool talk , us adults don’t know what tools are & we need help NOT..!!! Lol my god did you really need to spend so much time talking about tools 🛠 thank God for the fast forward ability
What is the point of this video ? Of course it’s a bag with screws in it ........do you really need to tell us ? If you are going to buy and build such a model surely you should know the basics.....or am I missing something ? Not being nasty or bitchin .......just flummoxed as to why !
Yes, about time I found a video where someone is talking and not loud music overs.... thanks!

Hello BOB love your videos they very helpful and the tips are great Love your dog Winston I'm in Sydney Australia
These cabover trucks always have a special place in my heart. The FIRST semi truck I rode in was an old cabover truck!

By far the best video for learning information about the hobby
Nice video! Always wanted a Globe Liner. Maybe one day...
Thank you Bob this has been a very useful video as I have my first build coming up.
Forgot how much fun these things are to build! Great video!
Love my globe!! Just got done putting new rims and tires on it, testing in the yard and now wathing your video!! Thanks bob😁

Heya Bob. So happy you have done this as I have just bought my first rc truck, that being the Globe Liner. 😊
super detailed info there thanx...will be a big help with my first truck build
A Neat video. Never to old to learn!
I always loved the US cabovers.... Best of luck with the build! !
been waiting for you to do a globe liner
Bob, I've been looking forward to this model. I almost have mine done but I'll watching you build yours as well!
I just think the old flat nose cab over trucks look awesome!
@@HobbyconceptsLLC I like

Very very Hardwork,Sir
Very Nice Video
Wow 😮 think am seriously considering buying this fabulous truck
Thanks for the excellent and thorough video, I’m really keen on getting this truck to build.👍🏻
thanks for the video.
Another great video . Thank you
Another fine video, Bob! Well explained! Should be a big help for novices!😉
I like the pan idea cuz it makes it harder to lose the screws.
Ordered it!
Showed up today! Tad overwhelming!
Sir your just Awesome
And so many parts😵😵 may head spinning
Good job Bob! Great video 👍🏼🍻
Can't wait for part 2 and so on
A good start to the build, looking forward to seeing the cab painted.

i was searching for this but i gave up and just made mine.....ONE WEEK AGO (love the vids)
I have every metal upgrade on mine had it for 20+ years
Nest tutorial ever.
Very cool!
I wanna see a cool Globe done. I’ve seen a few but not many.
Hopefully by the time this one is done it will be cool!

Mmmm, globe liner. Lovin' mine. Though mine's *not* for novices...I'm shoving a Toyan SOHC 4-cycle engine into mine.
I am just starting to work on modeling on 1/14 scale
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO 😀. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Great content...wish you had a top down view or even a camera opposite from you?? Don’t own any line haul trucks yet and all my rc’s are rtr crawlers...going to build my first kit of something this winter.
I was a little surprised by how quick the truck is with the stock Tamyia motor.
Yes, they are quite fast - even in low gear. A higher turn motor is a really nice and easy modification.
Where did you nuy this stuff buddy, its really awesome, i /we really like it,🙋♂😍😍😍😍
Everyone seems to say that the stock 27T motor is way too fast making the truck too tippy through turns. I was just wondering if a 34T or 55T would be better. I would like to have my rig have an ok amount of speed but still be stable through turns.
Yes, go with a 45 or 55 turn. Both will give you much improved operation over the stock motor and still very good speed in 3rd gear.
i nothis you dint paint the gearbox :)
Well explained build Bob 10/10
Sometimes I do but wanted to keep this basic build as simple as possible (for now!).
Can you use brushless motors for the Tamiya trucks?
When did this Globe Liner come out ? I like it !
Are you able to buy a grand globe or do you have to build a custom one
hi i,m new to building trucks ,just got a globeliner to build ,great videos very informative , i have the tamiya starter kit comes with 2 servo,s ,if i wanted to have a uncoupling will i need another servo?

I will add the smoke generator in a future truck project.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Can't wait to see that one!
What are the servo names
I really, REALLY, wanna buy & build one o' these, but I just can't justify the price - not even to myself . . .
I enjoyed the tutorial. Is it possible to put a MFC-01 on a globe liner?
Yes, fits just fine.
Enjoyed your detailed build...a lot easier for you because youve done plenty. Do you have a pref of motor make that you use for all your tractors?
May personal favorite for all around use is 45 turns. hobbyconcepts.net/products/45-turn-motor?_pos=1&_sid=89d7d379e&_ss=r
What’s the price on these trucks and website?
Can i just buy the Tamiya radio for 245
Tamiya does have a radio but it is pretty inferior to most of the radios we use (only 4 channels). The do make a push button radio that is not legal in the U.S.
you are not boring me
Hi Bob , On the set up on this video do you use the sanwa - acoms or the you use the futaba on the servos ?
Futaba
👌👍🔥❤
One you NEVER throw parts away
Two they are parts tree's
Three pretty sure they are called side cutters & not screw cutters
Hello Bob, will you do more video's for the beier system?
Coming soon!
Cuál es la dimensión ya armada? Gracias
Hola amigo. Disculpe dónde puedo conseguir uno de esos.. saludos
Depends on the country you are in.
o you dont need an mfc or is that optional also
You do not need an MFC. Part 2 will show hooking up a standard radio/Speed Control and getting the truck running.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC cant wait to watch
Hi there I have a question for you I have a knight hauler and futaba T6l controller that all works except I have to change gears from right to left could you give me some advice why this could be and maybe how I can fix it.
If that radio has a 3 position switch assign that to a channel and plug the shift servo in to that channel directly.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC
It is A Futaba T6l sport so it doesn’t have any levers that you are suggesting just one at top left that only clicks up and down.
Never have used Futaba.
As a extra parts hoarder I cringed when you threw that back of extra parts in the trash for the servo. Never know when you need something! Haha

Just check out Hobbyconcepts.net and you should be able to find everything.
The suspension that you build, does it work or is it just for scale building? In part 3 I can't really see any movement whilst driving.
Yes, the suspension works. Probably not a good video to show it because the cement I am running it on is pretty smooth.
Can this go off-roading? Like I’m not talking can deep mud, but like tall-ish grass, dips and bumps, and other smallish stuff.
Where do you buy the sealed bearing kits from is it from Tamiya?

real nice video, My name is Jerry Ebner and I live in San Antonio, Texas . What is the price of this kit and the radio?
Jerry, just check my website at Hobbyconcepts.net
Optimus prime..😆
and I am looking for a haul trailer to go with it
Bob ,is there anywhere to buy American branded RC trucks that are of the nature of this kit?
