- After learning Chinese for 7 years, I now speak as fluently as a native (I still work to improve). I will be sharing my experience and tips on how to start learning Chinese in a new series.
In this video, I take you through the right steps to follow if you want to learn Mandarin. In the series, I will share tips usable for learners of all levels and practices that have helped me improve my Chinese over the years.

Who am I?
I am an interpreting student at Shanghai International Studies University, currently taking classes online and freelancing as a language service provider. I make videos about interpreting, translating, Chinese learning and other fun stuff. I am always learning new things, and I enjoy sharing the process.
Excellent advice on setting goals! You are a great example for all Chinese learners how hard work and get you to great results.
Thank you for your kind comment Sara🤎

*ChinesePod* spares you the dictionaries. How?
You hover the curser/finger on a word , you get a pop up with PinYin and meaning. What a relief!
Oh really?!
I haven’t tried this, will definitely check it out!
Thank you for sharing. 🤗
We call it "annotation" [a little pop up with the explanation]

Subscribed. My question is:
How to master those Chinese words that can be *written by one character as well as by 2 characters* such as lu and daolu /mai and goumai/...etc?
Thank you for subscribing. 🤗
I never thought about this actually, because I love to learn in context and naturally absorb some of these things. But when you say how to master, do you mean how to differentiate them and know which context to use which?
If that’s the question, I honestly don’t have a ready-made answer as I learn in context and naturally copy native speakers. But I will check it out and see if there’s a system/method to it.
哎呦!好羡慕你啊。
اللهم بارك,愿我的汉语有一天能达到你的这个水平
