This system is perfect for me. I have a 12’ jonboat. On small lakes/ponds I run only my stern drive trolling motor. On bigger lakes I run an outboard along with it but it’s a lot of weight in the back for a small Jon (especially when just me) so I was going to get a separate bow mount trolling motor (with anchor mode). Now I can use the same motor for both without having to flip the head back and forth (a pain). It will save me thousands. It’s a genius idea!!!
@@philliprousu652it’s a stern drive trolling motor. In order to mount it on the bow you have to flip the head so the tiller handle is facing backwards toward you. With this system (and the remote drive) you don’t use the tiller handle so it can face away from you.
Dude what!!!? That system looks like an awesome addition. And that boat! So cool. I’d love to see the longevity of that boat. I would seriously consider something like that.
You're wild Aliex! Always trying to flip water crafts hahaha. Great video, love the collaboration! I really like how very little edited, if at all, this video is! The Autoboat really is awesome though, I have it bow mounted on my Hobie Outback.
The one caveat with the AutoBoat not mentioned is that if you mount this unit on the stern, you cannot use the Nav feature. Don’t know why but Nav will not work if mounted on the stern. Would also love to know how long battery would last since, if you use anchor lock, your basically using battery all day just like all other GPS motors.
no gps trolling motor works well in the stern, not even the $5000 ones, other gps motors dont really tell about how long the battery will last they are designed to work with old lead acid, the best thing you can do is get a battery that has a Bluetooth connector and an app that tells you all the info about the battery, amped outdoors offers that
I saw this on TBN months ago and was intrigued by the concept. If I hadn't bought a Terrova already I would have snagged one. What I didn't know was its ability to create waypoint routes. My Blue Sky 360 Pro that was once easy to toss in the truck and go now sits on a trailer due to all the gear on it. This Autoboat would be perfect for a lightweight yak when you don't want to deal with a trailer or you need to put in where there is no ramp access. That's not a beer belly, it's a croqueta belly. Man I miss Miami and good Cuban food. Let me know if you decide to get a Neural link, maybe we can get a group discount. I can't remember sh1t anymore. What was I saying ... 😉
Correct, If we had an outboard on back it wouldn’t sway as much. We later on put an epropulsion outboard on back and it swayed 95% less. In high wind or current you get less sway during anchor mode….in low wind low current you get more sway.
@@AliexFolgueira I already have a remote controlled bow mount motor on my boat but Autoboat told me that their system isn’t compatible with that type of motor :/
@@officialWWM yeah only works on dumb 12v motors, they won't make it for other motors, at least not for a while, I thought you were talking about the skiff

I live in IA but my brother is in Sarasota, FL. Much love, been watching you on my TV for months, lol
Ok Aliex...your channel is an ever flowing fountain of fishing kayak info. So id like to motorize an ok trident. I was set on either bixpy or newport...but this is sweet and i already have a minnekota endura 50lb that this should work with. Thos seems like a less expensive option with more features. So two questions. Would that heavier/taller trolling motor on the back create some stability issues in the chop/surf and when fighting big fish? You mentioned creating a diy pulley system in this video, does having the autoboat create any unique challenges the way everything connects?
For the Trident, I recommend the Bixpy or NK180 Pro. The Trident might be too narrow for autoboat and tricky to install on the bow. The safest option is a Bixpy on the rudder. Remember to use my affiliate links! thanks
Screw all the big trolling motor brands! Those lames have a lock-down on all the factories to stop competition and no one has been able to bypass that nonsense until now! What are they gonna do now? We don't have to spend 3-5k + another 2k for a fish finder anymore. We can have it all for well under 1k, less if you already have a trolling motor. Market disrupters for the WIN!
I just picked one up. The motor that turns the motor is not waterproof and is SEIZED ALREADY. Tiny Boat says not covered under warranty! Sorry man but that is BS!
@@AliexFolgueira I see, that's so unnecessary, I will stick to my manual Walmart Newport and just have to Manuever it myself, what a drag, at least I can save more money for other things👍🏾 😁👍🏾
If this boat was around $400-$1,200 it would be about right. I love it but cant get past the price. Sams club had something similar when I was a kid over 30 years ago for around $400. Adding a trailer and motor and you are better off buying 4 boats and trailers off of Craigslist. But I REALLY like it and wish it was more affordable. I’ve got a Yukon 12 foot kayak and I’d rather have that it’s lighter and paid for.

The guy at the controls is experienced and this is the best he can do... it's not ready for prime time!
You obviously don’t know much about boats. Without an outboard mounted on the stern this flat bottom boat will inevitably sway while operating bow mounted motor. It doesn’t matter if it is $649 AutoBoat or a $5000 motor. Try it sometime you will experience the same results even with the most expensive $3000-$6000 GPS trolling motors.
@@AliexFolgueira Correct. I'm in Europe, here a minnkota with GPS and remote costs just under $2000 brand new with 2 year warranty. With autoboat it would cost about $1000 in total, with used motor. So to me it's not worth it, Id rather pay $2000 and have everything brand new.
$3,300 ouch that boats out of my pay range. Just sold my last Warcraft for $800 and a Jon boat for $400. They both had motors and trailers.
