    Finally! I love the contrast between Iomedae and Aroden. Aroden embodying the Human virtue of "Ambition" but also being the most flawed or "human" deity. Iomedae embodies the humans Ideals, which some would say she is naive but it makes sense as she is indeed the youngest deity.
    I love her lore, thought we would be getting Cayden Cailean but Norgorbor is fascinating, especially with his different aspects.

    Another example of something that would change the world beyond recognition. Can you imagine if most soldiers in the history of the Mediterranean worshipped Iomedea, Seranrae or Gorum?

    Love the video as always, its become kind of a ritual to watch it before my Friday session. Quick question though concerning the Friday session though, we are playing through the Hell's Rebels AP translated to pf2e and might start Hell's Vengeance after that. I stopped watching the video at the GM Ideas section out of fear there might be spoilers for either of those, mind telling me if I'm safe to watch? Thanks in advance!

      I do mention a minor spoiler for the end of Hell's Vengeance. It has to do with the current status of a specific artifact related to Iomedae. If you want to go into the campaign completely blind, maybe skip the GM section. If you have already read the Lost Omens Legends book, however, or if you don't mind a small spoiler which is a logical conclusion of the party having successfully won the campaign, then it's probably safe.
      Also, are you using someone's conversion of Hell's Rebels? Or is your GM converting it as you go? That campaign is on my short list of ones to play next (once my never-ending Skull and Shackles campaign is over).

    One ally that is worth mentioning is Millani who often has shrines in Iomedaean temples and is active in cheliax.

      Yes. Milani and Iomedae are very close, both having been saints in Aroden's church. I look forward to seeing their churches work together if Iomedae starts making moves in Cheliax. I have a Milani video in the works, and I'm excited to talk about her in the next few months.

    Admittedly my least favorite god, sad to say. I think the way Paizo handled her in Wrath of the Righteous was terribly tone deaf. I know that she's been redone, particularly in the Owlcat WotR game, but she's not that much better either as she a) tries to convince you to get rid of your mythic power, b) has only *just now* started to interfere with the war because it now 'concerns the gods' instead of, you know, justice for mere mortals, and c) she admits to being wrong about you if you hang on to your mythic power.
    It just feels like beyond how an individual DM may play her off as, she comes off as more of an egocentric hypocrite than anything. I think Iomedae would be an interesting examination instead of what a former mortal turned god may feel when they inherit something as weighty and ephemeral as the concept of *justice*. I mean, the other ascended have it easy(ish) or at least wear their trauma on them. Cayden's constantly drunk (in a good way) so he has next to no pressure or stress
    Irori is (also) something of a hypocrite because of all people, the Master of Masters should respect someone following someone else's footsteps the way a student follows their teacher, but at the end of the day, the guy *is* self-perfected, so I suppose he has a right to turn his nose up. End of the day, all he has to concern himself is with himself.
    Norgorber just has to be a *dick* and keep his mouth shut. Pretty easy if you lack a conscience.
    Nethys *is* crazy, which goes to show mortals ruling over domains way beyond their comprehension isn't good for them.
    Aroden is dead, and also a fuckup, and I like your interpretation of him messing up so many times that he decided the only winning move was to get rid of the only game in town.
    I want to see a *tired* Iomedae who really wrestles with balancing being just with being effective, with the fact that justice is an uphill battle instead of the way the world works, and who maybe finds her godhood a curse she could give up so she could experience the joy of not having every bad thing in the world be her fault by way of being beyond her ability to judge or enforce fairly. That would be interesting. Maybe this is what the Owlcat game wanted to do, but it still came off as awkward.

      I think we might see some more depth with Iomedae once Arazni joins the Core 20. Their relationship is so complex, the drama should basically write itself.

    Wait for it to be revealed in War of Immortals that Iomedae was the one that killed Aroden. And then she's to one to kill Gorum to take his power and role, and militarising heaven as mentioned at the start of the video. This will kick of War of Immortals and Arazni will eventually kill her as she's being raised to the core 20. I doubt any of this would happen, and would probably upset a lot of people. Just came into my mind as you said that other gods disnt like what she was doing in heaven

    I feel like Iomedaes ties to Asmodeus could make for a really interested backstory for a character.

    Great video, thanks for the good work. Could you pls make a video about the correct way(if any) of pronouncing the names from Pathfinder lore? Gods, locations, etc? Thx!

      That's an interesting idea. I'll noodle on that and see if I can think of an effective way to gather and present that information.

    Thank you for this. Iomedae is my favorite diety and this is coming from someone who plays Paladins and Champions. :)

    • @Podfinder
      @Podfinder  7 месяцев назад

      She really is so cool. What are your thoughts on the other Paladin-ish gods like Ragathiel and Falayna? Also, are you worried about Iomedae in the upcoming War of Immortals?

    • @AsturiasPrimus
      @AsturiasPrimus 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@Podfinder , I only recently found out about Ragathiel when I got into PF2e last year. Ragathiel embodies more of the vengeance and zealot type of Champion and have a narrower focus in terms of character creation. They're still fascinating though. I never heard of Falayna. I just read up about her when you mentioned it.
      As for the War of the Immortals, I don't know extremely little of it. I just know that there are rumors that Paizo is going to kill of a major diety. I hope it's not Iomedae or Sarenrae.

    What does it really mean to dishonor yourself?

    • @Podfinder

      Consider looking at Shizuru's updated edicts for some inspiration. She and Iomedae have a lot of overlap.

    • @Jo-Heike
      @Jo-Heike 14 дней назад

      @@Podfinder There's a lot of differences between western concepts of honor and eastern concepts that may seem superficially similar.
      I found a PF1e gamemastery tab for several honor point systems, including chivalric and "samurai". The two had a lot of differences.
      There was also intrigue and tribal.

    • @Podfinder
      @Podfinder  14 дней назад

      @@Jo-Heike I was more referring to how 1e Shizuru had a similar edict to act with honor, which was then expanded in 2e to a much more specific set of edicts and anathema. Iomedae could benefit from a similar expansion and clarification.

    • @Jo-Heike
      @Jo-Heike 14 дней назад

      @@Podfinder Probably. For now it would likely be a discussion one should have with their DM if playing a champion or Cleric of Iomedae.

    • @Podfinder
      @Podfinder  14 дней назад

      @@Jo-Heike agreed. I also think her 1e Paladin Code is a good source of inspiration.
