Even if DnD overshadows Pathfinder for now I am still more fond of the latter and its lore.
You should really read up on some of the 3.5 (specifically forgotten realms, but the other stuff is pretty cool too) lore though, it's really good. Just wanting you to broaden your horizon. Inspiration can come from anywhere and if you want to do a homebrew, better steal from multiple places than just one

Yeah, Matt Mercer's first campaign was originally a pathfinder game before they started streaming it. Hence why it has gunslingers and a cleric of sarenrae in the party. They converted it to 5e but kept some of the pathfinder lore, hence why sarenrae is there despite all the other gods being d&d deities.
As of 2e, Sarenrae is officially in a polyamorous relationship with Desna and Shelyn. Now that’s a holy trinity I can get behind!
Even before 2e, they were identified as lovers in the Planar Adventures 1e book.

In my Kingmaker game, I ran a forum user made supplement called Venture Capital, and added the church of Sarenrae to people they could bring with them. There they found a tiefling oracle with features that were so bizarre she was treated as a monster by the populace. They wanted to recruit her, and decided to ask her to become their high priestess She agreed, on the terms that criminals would be given chances to redeem and that there would be a temple of Sarenrae built.
She's been a player favorite, though she scared them the one time she lost her temper.

This was really cool! I love making divine based characters and exploring different faiths in my games so this kind of deep exploration of the backstory and inner workings of the major churches of the deities is really interesting to me, do you have any plans to do Iomedae? I love how the church hierarchy is structured in sword-knights so i think it'd be really interesting!
We don't have any immediate plans to do Iomedae since we've already decided on the next videos topic, but as one of the major deities, she's definitely one we want cover at some point.
I really love sarenrae, one fun titbit. Sarenrae is one of the few gods with an official pronounciation, because James jacobs created her in his homebrew. He's very adament that it's Sa-ren-ray and not Ser-an-ray (if you can just as easily say Sarenwrap you've said it wrong)
Hmm, interesting. I'm just gonna chose to blame Matt mercer for popularising the way I say it.
According to the Pathfinder Chronicle Campaign Setting from 2008, it's actually pronounced SAER-en-ray. So I'm not sure what James Jacobs said but the official Pathfinder resources say otherwise

I play pathfinder for the better half of a decade now, i used to not like z Golarion that much, i found out your channel a few days ago and you made me love Golarion for that and for the lore you provide thank you! Now a silly question if I may, how is it possible in a world where gods truly exist beyond doubt for cultists of a sect that oppose the dogma to still get Divine powers?
Asmodues is as far as i know know to gift cultists and sects of other gods powers to undermine those gods and further his own goals
