    There was NO WAY Hakeem was going to be denied in 95. Put some respect on his name!!! Greatest playoff run ever led by a player. 6th seed. No home court advantage. Played against the league MVP. Faced 5 elimination games. Humbled and denied a young prime Shaq his first ring all while being the first option on offense. Hakeem was worn out by 96 (big men don’t last as long in the league as guards especially during a low-post dominated era) and bad management broke up the championship core. With Hakeem being a humble, foreign-born player, the NBA didn’t hype him up the way that he deserved. He is arguably the greatest Center of all time playing in the era of the greatest shooting guard of all time and we we never got to see that match up.

    Dream never stopped working on his game. Remember he was a late comer to basketball from soccer hence footwork.

    Seen the interview where, I think, Kenny Smith says that Dream didn't talk crap, but after David Robinson won MVP, Hakeem said, " he's just borrowing the trophy". He knew it was gonna get real.

    • @ShengYu1995
      @ShengYu1995 4 года назад

      It's more likely that Kenny is just being a hype-man and looking for attention. I don't think Hakeem is that type of person. Any logical person knew Robinson deserved it in 95 given that the Spurs finished with the best record and the Rockets only had 47 wins, so you are really never gonna give a MVP to a 6th seed team that underachieved in the regular season

    You could tell how smooth a player is by watching how their opponents move if you see them flail everywhere, you know the player is smooth. Hakeem is the only center that could ever achieve this, especially when it comes to the highest level. Most skilled center of all time.

    David Robinson was a great player and a classy person. Hakeem was at the top of his game and not just David but Ewing and O’Neal were also outmatched by him.

      Overrated defender. Should've never been awarded a DPOY over Olajuwon.
      None of his "mind games", baiting guys into getting T'ed up and taking cheap shots had any affect on Dream. And Horry torched him from 3 this series.
