I would put Mijaín López over Karelin due to him being an Olympic greco roman gold winner for 5 olympics in a row in the heavyweight division which is way more impressive taking into account he didnt compete for over 2 years before he got this years gold.
Who carea
Well when you are discussing goat status you have to take stuff like this into account unless you are completely biased
Was waiting for sumo...
Did not disappoint!
Having seen hakuho when it was at the top was really something. The guy really just seemed unbeatable
@@alexsenseisclassroom6859 that must of been crazy, thanks for sharing!
Shohei Ono not being the Judo goat is criminal
Teddy Riner is by far the judo goat , lmao japan have schools only to beat him since 10 years and it dont work , not even close
@lechaatr193 Teddy Riners weight class is not nearly as competitive as the lower weights. By accolades alone he may be considered the best, but it's a bit disingenuous to have him as the GOAT.
Teddy Riner has more impressive accolades by far. I love Ono Shohei’s Judo though, the lighter weights are much more exciting, but Riner’s Paris olympic run is nothing but legendary. Compared to the only other ever 3 time olympic gold medalist’s third run it was astonishingly dominant. Not to mention the ridiculous fairytale story of the Team event in front of the home crowd.
Yamashita is the real goat 203-0
goat video bro 💪
You're going to need to remake this video when Shamil Gaziev is done with his career
Mma: GSP
Boxing: Sam Langford
Kickboxing Giorgio Petrosyan
Full contact (American kickboxing): Don Wilson
Muay Thai: Samart
Greco-roman: Mijain Lopez
Judo: Teddy Riner
Kyokushin: Kazumi Hajime
Sport karate: Rafael Aghayev
Sam langford pfffff, he was good but not the goat
@user-universalmaster. how many fighters do you know that fought the best people available from lightweight to heavyweight in boxing? Most hall of fame fights?
@@user-universalmaster. how many fought the best from lightweight to heavyweight and beat them? Who holds the record for the most hall of fame fights combined? You can look for the answer in my comment above
@@jacopo.dainottoAre you being serious? Genuine question
Gordon Ryan BJJ
This is a great premise and video - deserves a lot more views.
The GOAT Hakuho mentioned, Asahoryu was another favourite of mine
Even though he never got Yokozuna, Tochinoshin is always my fav
Going to use this vid to inform my own training for sure, got some film to watch :)
Great video
Don "The Dragon" Wilson was an 11 time World Champion in multiple weight classes. And I think Andy Hug put Kyokushin on the map and had real competition.
Boxing - Duran
MMA - Jon Jones
Muai Thai - Saenchai
Wrestling - Mihain Lopez
Kickboxing - Ernesto Hoost
Love the Sugar Ray pick!
Regardless or if you like Jones or not, don’t kid yourself he was the best
And I love Sugar Ray but you’re on booger sugar if you think he’s better than any prolific champion forward of the 80s
They don’t like the guy, that’s why they’re so persistent on not crowning him as the best. Lance Armstrong passed hundreds of drug tests, and GSP quit right when they started more rigorously drug testing. But even disregarding all that, besides GSP or Jon there’d be others who could go for the title like Mighty Mouse or DC. The creator of the video is very obviously biased.
I know the impulse is to disregard Jon Jones because of failed drug tests, but I think it is still perfectly reasonable to have the likes of dj and gsp above Jones on their own merit and without making any exclusions. I think Jones is definitely top 5, but their seemingly stellar record does not hold up to scrutiny.
Facts, a microscopic look through Jones' record, especially looking at the point of the career his opponents were at is very relevant and not discussed enough.
You are so goated for recognizing gsp bro he is so underappreciated
Macho Man Randy Savage for Pro Wrestling
Snap into a SlimJim ooooooohYeaaaaaah
Aleksandr Karelin might be the most dominant athlete of all Time. Never has a man been so much on top of his art for so long …
Ernesto Hoost exists...
Out of all 12 of these guys who would win in a fight? At first glance, the best answers are Saint Pierre, Karelin, Riner, maybe Hasanov and Gracie.
Dude , Gsp was a welterweight.
@@Lmao69 I am aware. He weighed about ~190lbs in the cage during his prime, more like ~205lbs when he moved up to middleweight, but was old then. He's outweighed by the others, but has a much larger skillset.
GSP would beat the snot out of all the other guys. He would sub Robinson, Petroysian, Payarkoon, Kazumi and Lopez. All the other guys would get head or body kicked into oblivion. Alltough maybe Karelin could dump GSP on his head, alltough i think GSP is competent enough at wrestling to negate it in an MMA/street fight setting. Riner might also be able to get a takedown and hail mary sub. But i think Judo isnt dynamic enough to secure the takedown.
@@Jonnybois Karelin, Riner, Hasanov, and Gracie are his hardest fights. They have less tools in their bag, but they're much larger. I'm not entirely sure how it would go.
Karelin
Petrosyan is a good pick, but for my money I get Rico Verhoeven
Wut ?? Bro are u dutch
You’re tweaking
Rico: 65W - 10L, 1 major organisation champ
Giorgio: 107W - 3L - 2D, 3 major organisation champ 🏆
Hahah Rico either gets severely underrated or severely overrated, no inbetween

Imagine the ultimate tournament between all goats
Anderson Silva has the record for most title defences. He had moore ways to finish a fight and he moved up a weight class a couple of times.
He mentioned people who did peds don’t get considered
Fedor. GSP comes second.
Gsp is not the Goat 😂🤣 no one who gets steamrolled by Matt sera will ever be the goat
You can literally say the same thing about any fighter-Jon Jones lost to Dominick Reyes, Anderson Silva lost to nobodies in Pride, Fedor got knocked out by a middleweight, etc.
I love Samart so much
DJ was close to being the undeniable goat of MMA but him leaving the UFC was the worst thing that could happen. We didn't get to see him defend against better competiton and he wasn't even old, he was THIRTY TWO when he was traded to OneFC and now he's already retired at 38. Imo DJ not like it's his fault or anything had some of the weakest challengers there's been for a UFC belt and it wasn't a good look for him losing to a contender in a weaker promotion when he was 35 despite the good rematch win.
Not using Marcelo Garcia for BJJ is a fair opinion even if I disagree with it.
It's really the gi and no gi achievements combined for Roger that does it for me.
@@thecombatchronicler Marcelo isn't even the no gi GOAT, it's Gordon by a mile.
Aleksandr Karelin’s case should be carefully studied, and his genes sample preserved as a prime example of peak male performance.
I’d give the nod to Ernesto Hoost and JBJ personally but that’s me.
It should be noted that in the UFC fighters weren’t required to get tested until June of 2015. It might be different for other organizations but the UFC is where gsp competed so I’m only talking about the UFC
Great vid
Not picking a heavyweight from the golden years of K1 as the kickboxing goat is super wrong.
petrosyan fought everybody and always won, only man to win k1 tournament back to back. He only has 3 losses, nobody is more technical than him, what are you on?
@federicobarroccu9341 Ernesto Hoost
It might be unfair but K-1s golden era having so many legendary heavyweights actually makes it harder to sell, because they all traded wins and losses amongst themselves and you couldn't really single one out, maybe Hoost by a little bit. But I did really consider putting Aerts in there.
picking GSP and Giorgio are such good picks
Great video ! I agree with most of your choices. I my opinion, the boxing goat is Joe Louis and the May Thaï goat is Saenchai. Also, I was expecting to see Gordon Ryan on this list, he's regarded as the goat in grappling competition.
You are a real one for picking Gsp as the mma goat man these Jon glazers aren’t shit
You have saitiev on here, certified legit list.
I feel like you might have to divide bjj into two categories, one for specifically no gi since it's much more popular. In which case the answer is probably Gordon Ryan.
Kinda sad to see petrosyan get head kick ko'd by superbon
Thanks for the video, THE COMBAT CHRONICLER
You bet 👊
My the Kwon do coach competed in nationals in 2000, the 1st year tkd was in the Olympics. And the only person who could, and did beat him was Lopez. He ended up placing 3rd that year, and Lopez went on to take the 1st gold at the olympics
Bro GSP has NOTHING on Demetrious. There u go, i said it
talent pool is lesser in DJ's class, it's just a fact
Kazumi Hajime is indeed a formidable Kyokushin Karateka, but why we leaving out Judd Reid and Matsui Shokei?
Or Kenji Yamaki
@ truly a master
I have a fun story. I'm trained as a kickboxer and spent some time training in K-1 gyms in Japan. Well one time randomly Hajime Kazumi came into the gym I was training at and just did an impromptu seminar. I couldn't understand a word but after it was done everyone was throwing these blitzing karate style combinations with the low kick and absolutely destroying me. This pick may be the most personal but I think it shows to me just how important his contributions have been to not only Kyokushin but striking as a whole.
@ I am also a Shodan in Kyokushin Kai, completely changed how I fight! I was big on Point Fighting (which has its time and place)
Clicked immediately when I saw the same people on my list featured on the thumbnail 😭
To be fair, Hakuho's 63-win streak is not the all time record, but I doubt anyone is ever coming close to his 45 championships (for context, next best has 32 championships iirc).
Volkanovski is the GOAT
His resume is not as good as gsp plus less title defenses
Id say he’s better than gsp but still not the goat
@@Scrumdumnwrong sir he has a significantly better resume its the title defenses that he lacks

Plus only 2 losses which he aggressively avenged. That’s way more impressive than Volks resume
@@Scrumdumn what are you smoking? @lechaatr193facts their the real goats
Hakuho is the goat of goats. Everyone cited here, except for him, had other people that were close calls (Ali, Tyson in boxing, for example. Or buakaw and sanchai in Muay Thai) Hakuho is the Michael Jordan of combat sports, there are great fighters, but Hakuho is on a god level
Gsp is not the goat
John Brzenk- Armwrestling
real shit for not taking a casual pick like khabib or anderson or even jon jones
I will put Fedor in MMA, 28-0 in HW, beat 13 fighters in top 10 at that time. Crazy. Bravo for SRR, he is GOAT.
He never joined the ufc, so he didn't have top tier competition
@@JohnFaulkner56 Nonsense, PRIDE was the strongest MMA organization back then. Why do you think Dana sent Lidell to PRIDE then? It's incredible that people allow themselves to write such unargued nonsense. He defeated and dominated the Minotaur twice, who later became the champion in the UFC. Beat Herring, Goodridge, Mirko Cro Cop who was one of the most dangerous fighters ever... Hunt, Coleman, Arlovski. He has 48 fights and 40 wins. Today's fighters in the UFC will be happy if they have 20 fights... Fedor is the GOAT, and that's what a lot of people think.

Out of all the "goats" in the mma goat debate, gsp has the best argument. Doesnt mean u cant think others are, but his argument is the hardest to break down in comparison to anyone without going full delusional
So who comes out to the top between these fighters in a real life 1v1 match?
Rocky Marciano is a better pick maybe.
Hell no
Even GOATs need weight class distinctions. GOATs need to be divided into weight classes.
Fedor, Silva & Jones >>>> GSP

Fedor never competed in the ufc, Silva and Jones were on PEDs
@connerpollitt3661 if you think gsp is better than Anderson Silva, you dont watch mma
@MyCarlosmaciel funny. I never remember GSP having 11 losses, or popping for PEDs like Anderson did

I’ll always pick DJ as my MMA goat, but if you bring up legacy, GSP is a solid choice
I agree with most picks, but i do have some different picks for kickboxing and muay thai. For kickboxing i would trhow in Ernesto Hoost, with his unmatched record in K1 promotion, or maybe Rob Kaman for his amazing preformences. In muay thai, Saenchai is the all time goat, no doubt
