I don't care what nobody say I got Hakeem over Shaq, Kobe, Steph, KD. This guy took away Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Robinson's, Rodman, Shaq and Penny soul in their primes. He took their lunch and ate it and nothing they could have done guy was a beast. Best player in the 1990s besides Jordan.

Phenomenal one I definitely agree with you I got Hakeem Olajuwon currently ranked ahead of all those guys. Now maybe Steph can surpass Hakeem because he still May win another championship.

    • @DC5Boss
      @DC5Boss Год назад +1

@@rooseveltdarbey9493 championships is only one part of the story Hakeem was dominant on both sides of the court. While Steph is only offensively gifted he's not ahead of Hakeem, that guy was NBA first team and NBA all defensive team throughout the latter 80s and the 90s. Hakeem is in my top 10 while Steph is top 15 at best.

The Rockets also played in a system where they moved the ball around as a team instead of heavily relying on PG play like most teams, it was extremely difficult to gameplan for them that's why trying to use single coverage on the Rockets wasn't that effective overall they had a lot of good facilitators. The Magic is a good team to compare them to because both played an identical style of ball they usually relied on Penny and Shaq in having their offense run properly, what the Rockets did particularly late in those games was not double team often and the Magic would go through shooting droughts. The Bulls did the same thing the following year, the difference was they did it for the majority of the games and not just in the latter half.

      Definitely!
The Rockets were the 6th seed!
Lowest seed to ever win the title.
No home court advantage in any of the playoff series.
They beat the top 3 teams in the West to get to the Finals
Then they swept the top team in the East.

The '95 Rockets run was ridiculous. Beat a Malone-Stockton Jazz team (60 wins), a prime Barkley Suns team (59 wins) and a prime Robinson-Rodman Spurs team (62 wins). And they did this without homecourt in any round before sweeping the 57 win Magic led by Shaq and Penny, again without homecourt. This and the Dirk led 2011 run have to be the greatest runs to the title in NBA history.

You know how they say no team in that era could match up w/the Bulls especially when they had Rodman? This Rockets team actually could, the Bulls most dangerous lineup was when they went small with Kukoc and Rodman at PF/C Horry was practically a more athletic version of Kukoc and the Rockets in the WCF with the Spurs showed they could handle Rodman down the stretch most of the games. Robinson/Rodman and O'Neal/Grant were the top 2 C/PF rebounding frontcourts that year so they were actually stronger than the one the Bulls had, the 96 Magic were the closest thing to the Rockets that Bulls team went up against and the Magic had a lot of injuries in that series.

I'm so glad I have a player nearly as dominant as him on my favorite team, the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis became the 3rd Player to win MVP, DPOY, FMVP after Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon. That Championship was extremely sweet, I hope Giannis can follow in Both MJ and Hakeems footsteps and repeat after winning his 1st Championship.

Thanks for your comment in my Hakeem video.
I have made a video for Giannis for his heroic playoffs performance in 2021 as well,

Yeah but Jordan and Olajuwon recorded hundreds of steals and blocks while Giannis wins DPOY with 66 steals and 61 blocks

Yeah but Hakeem was the only player to win all 3 awards in the same season in 94.

Very good player, but not the GOAT.

Olajuwon is the goat even Jordan was helpless against him

I will be real and state that who is the GOAT is open to opinion, a lot of variables to consider, but for me, the player he played against he will always be the GOAT!

Imagine if Hakeem would of had shooters like Golden State...

The Rockets did have shooters, that was the main reason they were so dangerous offensively they made opposing teams pay for double teaming.

@@ChrisM07 They had shooters, but not like modern Golden State has. Granted, no one ever has shot 3s like Golden State.

@@Noin007 Outside shooting is a lot more common now, if the Rockets played in today's league they would've practically been the Warriors or at least the D' Antoni Rockets.

@@ChrisM07 Steph and Klay both shoot a much greater volume of 3s but also shoot at significantly higher percentages. They both shoot in the low-mid 40s, the Rockets shooters were all mid 30s other than Kenny who was high 30s.
For the era, the Rockets were launching 3s like no one else. Now, I'm imagining if their main shooters had shot around 42% instead of about 35% and had done so launching like 3-4 times as many shots from 3.

@@Noin007 Like I said, different times. The Rockets often shot them off double teams teams today shoot them in transition and on 1 on 1 plays.
