Jordan was there in 95! As a matter of fact i remember clearly when Jordan came back the Bulls where the favorite to win it all even over the Spurs with the best record in nba. Fucking Bill worrell the Rockets legendary commentator thought the Bulls were going to win it all. As soon as the bulls lost to the magic everybody ignore that the bulls were in the playoff. Freaking assholes
Hakeem didn't get the recognition he so deserves because he was not born in America and that's so unfair but he was the greatest center of all time in my humble opinion maybe the greatest clutch player ever
It’s unfortunate but true. I feel like some of the older players don’t get enough recognition simply because they weren’t from America… arvydas sabonis being the perfect example. Hakeem definitely had the greatest skill set of any center in NBA history but saying he was the greatest center is a bold statement for sure!
That’s not the reason imo. It’s because he doesn’t have a “big” personality. Think of the guys from that era that knew how to market themselves, like Shaq, Barkley, and MJ. Hakeem was a much more subdued guy compared to those others. I’m the biggest Hakeem fan there is and definitely think he deserves more recognition than he gets though.
Great video - one nitpick I have is I wish you had gone into more detail about game 1 of the NBA Finals. Its probably the most underrated Finals game in history - its forgotten because the series ended in a sweep. Rockets at one point were down by 20, and with around 10 seconds left they were down by 3 with Orlando shooting free throws. Every single Magic fan in the building thought they had the game won and sounded like they were about to throw a party. Then the Rockets won the game in overtime. Also, while Hakeem definitely got the best of Shaq in the series, Shaq stood his ground well and was probably Hakeem's toughest competition in his playoff runs.
@brucewayne1662, I completely agree. Game 1 of the 1995 finals isn’t talked about nearly enough. I remember watching the game and vividly recall knowing the game was over when Nick Anderson stepped up to the line to shoot free throws. He missed both, the Magic lost the game, got swept in the series and Nick Anderson was never the same player again. At the time, he was a 20 point per game guy and easily could have been an all star several times. He lost all confidence after that and over night became just another above average player in the league. Shaq left Orlando after the following season, Penny Hardaway became perpetually injured and the Magic and their fans were left wondering “What could have been?” If Anderson makes those free throws, the Magic win the game and carry all the momentum into game two. They easily could have won the series from that point. If they won the title that year, Shaq never goes to Los Angeles, perhaps Penny stays healthy and the Magic quite possibly become a dynasty. With Jordan back in basketball shape for the 1996 season, the Magic, with a confident Nick Anderson, would have given Jordan and the Bulls fits. The entire complexion of the league and Jordan’s career would have been drastically altered if those Magic teams were able to prevent Jordan from getting his second three peat. I’ve wondered for almost 30 years now “What would have happened if Nick Anderson hits those free throws?” Cheers

Olajuwon was truly something special. His run in 1994 and 1995 was absolutely incredible, he was without question as dominant as anyone who ever played the game during that two year stretch. Obviously, he was dominant his entire career but never more than in ‘94 and ‘95. One of my (and everyone else’s) biggest regrets as a fan was not being able to see how those Olajuwon led Rockets teams would have fared against Jordan’s Bulls teams. I’m not saying the Rockets definitively would have beaten the Bulls but they most certainly could have. The Bulls weak centers would have racked up tons of fouls and Olajuwon would have shot a ridiculous amount of free throws. His points per game would have been mind blowing. And, in conjunction with his blocks and rebounds, his stat lines would have been off the charts. They would have looked very similar to Wilt Chamberlain’s video game-like stats during his career. Oh, what could have been….
@@nkclouted exactly. People always bring up dallas or toronto’s runs but never houston. I was only 3 but ive researched enough to know how great this run was

I wish I could upload more as well but having a super busy school schedule doesn't really give me much flexibility. I'll try going back to uploading once every week though, and yes, the Spurs had an overall dominant run between 1999 and 2007, might be worth having a look at!
The idea that teams all of a sudden felt they had a chance to win the title just because of Jordan's first retirement in 1993 is a bit of revisionist history. Of course the chances of every team to win it went up somewhat, but the Bulls' championship team in 1993 was easily the weakest of the first three- peat. They had to scratch and claw to win that one, and I think a lot of people felt there was a fair chance the Bulls werent winning a fourth in row, with or without Jordan.

Great video ! He was the most complete big man to ever lace up shoes! The likes of Lebron , Kobe, Stoudemire , Dwight, Etc all flew down to Houston to study the great footwork from the Dream. Plus Jordan pick him as his top center to be in his all time 5 starting lineup. If that’s not Greatness then I don’t know what is. Still underrated in my book. He’s the Greatest center of all time just ask Shaq and David Robinson .
I'm glad you liked the video! And I totally agree, I'm not sure why he doesn't get the same love other greats do. Real NBA fans know about his greatness though, and so do NBA players so there's something worthwhile.
Jordan wasn’t the best player, he said himself the only one he feared was Hakeem. Look it up, Hakeem also almost won the scoring title. Also the Rockets were the sixth seed, they barely made into the playoffs. Nobody could do anything with him, he destroyed the Admiral who should not have gotten the MVP over Hakeem anyways. Furthermore, the Houston rockets always beat the bulls with Jordan and Pippen, look it up. Peace
@@nkclouted The Bulls were used to going up against traditional low post power players they even neutralized Shaq when they had Rodman. Guarding faceup moves and turnaround fadeaways would be a more difficult matchup, and the Rockets were the best defensive team in the West in that era IMO. Horry's rep as a clutch shooter overshadowed the fact he was also a great defensive player he's in the top 20 w/career postseason blocks and top 15 in postseason steals.
