Literally all Disney has to do is pick the best stories of the Expanded Universe and adapt them word for word, and they will be beloved. Instead of denying the existence of any source material and thinking that they can make up their own "canon" which is better than what made us fall in love with Star Wars in the first place. If DIsney just comes out and says "our canon was a mistake", discontinues their original stories and focuses on ACCURATELY adapting the original EU, we are willing to forgive them for everything. But as long as they continue to live with such delusional arrogance, they will forever be seen as one of the worst companies on earth.

Also imagine the same for Marvel having a theatrical anthology film with different segments made by marvel fans.
