I ran out of time to color-correct the opener. The edits just took me longer than I realized and I couldn't blow the deadline. So it's how it is. Done over Perfect. Cheers!
NOTE: The drone shot at the end of the video is real. I used two drones and I filmed on one while my son did the flying on the other one. That ain't no green screen, baby!!!! On the other hand, I almost crashed them together so probably won't pull this type of shot again! 👍

Keep em coming! This channel is critical for us Fujifriends.
More to come! 👍 Thank you!
Very critical I must say.
Agree!
Top channel 👏 👌 👍 leaning so much!! Thank you 😊
I red the title and said to myself "I know a lot about this subject but let's watch the video just for fun", and then I learned a lot of new stuff !!! You are great!!!
Thanks a lot Chris!!!
Best pronunciation in the whole YT comunity
What about Steady Crafting?
As a self-taught film shooter who is fairly new to digital, this is one of the most informative and useful videos I’ve watched in a long time. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Yesterday. Think about OIS. This morning wake up to see this video. Thanks Fuji overlords for sending us your messiah, Pal2tech, to teach us. Subbed.
I don't own a Fuji Camera. I just bought the Canon R5, so I don't plan on buying a Fuji anytime soon. However, I love the look, feel and color of Fuji. And... and... and I love your vids and watch most of them. Such great, educational and entertaining content!!!
I’m a simple man, pal2tech uploads a new video, I watch.
You are to cameras what scotty Kilmer is to cars. This is fantastic work. Entertaining and Effective. And the cherry on top. You clearly are having fun and doing what you love. Its a joy to see
Best Fuji tutorials on RUclips. Keep up the great work!
This video was extremely helpful to me! You really explained things so well. I realize now how little I really understood about IBIS and OIS. Thank you! I have a Pal2Tech notebook and I take notes on most of your videos. For this video, I almost have a full page of notes.
Man this channel is a goldmine
Lucy, you've got some "splaining" to do! As always Chris, you do a great job explaining the intricacies of this system. Didn't know how much I didn't know about IS on my X-T4. Thank you.
Thanks for this. I tried a focus stack recently on my tripod with OIS left on (XT3 + 10-24mm) My eye sight is not great in the field so did not check but when I uploaded, none of them looked very sharp. Have been out after watching this video and much better results with OIS turn off.
What you may find amusing is if you hold the camera too steady, say at a 15th of a second with ibis on, even you can mess with the ibis.
As someone mentioned before, your English sounds so good. Your channel helps me not only to learn Fuji stuff but also to practice my English... 😂 😂 😂
Me too, haha, I am a brazilian FujiFilm and English lovers learning about both haha.
Just enough informations for me. Well done! Love the intro, btw, haha. And your room as well
Thank you so much for taking the time to do these very helpful videos on flash photography. Always such a great presenter.
Your quirkiness style of advice and reviews is very infectious. I love it!
Thank you for the wonderful Fuji tips Chris. Your videos are incredibly helpful. Would love to see more video shooting tutorials for the X-T3/X-T4.
Another extremely informative video : I know near all you said but you succeeded to make me find the continuous not continuous IS menue for the lens . Always a discover even with the things I thought know. An essential Chanel !
Haha. Me too. Ran down and grabbed my camera and turned continuous IS off.
Thank you for this one!
As I said before, watching your videos is so much more fun and entertaining than reading the manual, and they are more informative too!
Wow, thanks! Yeah, that manual can be a bit dry for sure hahahaha!!!!!!
Agree! He's the best!
I have owned multiple Canon cameras over the last three decades and all under $1000 and I had been shooting pretty much in an amateur ways all the way, but now that I wanted to invest four times as much I needed to be sure, six months of search and and reading all kind of reviews finally landed me on a X-T4, and by watching this guy it made me so proud of my decision, it is truly a gem, they have packaged up a lot of goodies in a small package and offering it at a much lower price than others. And this guy really knows his stuff, cheers
This is by far the most enlightening video about Fuji ibis.
Great point about reciprocal rule and APSC. I hadn't thought of that 🤦♀️
Thanks Cris
Always learning new things!
I learned something new today about my 16-80 lens that it knows when it's connected to my camera. Great fan of yours keep the tips coming please !!!!
Thank you for your informative video. I am currently upgrading from the X-T2 to the X-T4 and all my lenses are OIS (with the exception of a couple primes0. It is nice to see a refresher course on IS and I wasn't quite sure how in body IS would work with lens IS. This was very helpful.
Fantastic once again! Thanks
Another AWESOME video!!! 👍👍👍
Love this video, very informative and fun!
Always, always fantastic (Fuji) tips!!!
Been researching on switching/upgrading from my Canon EOS M50 and I'm strongly considering the XT-4. Love the informative content!
Loved the intro man. !!! It's super amazing. 🔥👍
Thank you so much!!!! 🙏
Superb overview of image stabilisation. This should be the go-to video to understand what IBIS is, when to use it and when not to.
Thank you so much!!! 🙏
Thanks for making all these super helpful videos!
You forgot to mention the “how much coffee you drunk “ factor😂
Awesome information... I'm new to photography but unconsciously, I seem to understand all you mentioned in this video is fairly obvious, if you think about it yet I needed someone to explain it to me this easily.... Thanks very much... Greetings from Spain
As usual this is a very well thought video script. Ile the intros quiet a lot. Funny and presents the video's subject. Good work mate.
Another great video - thanks!
Hi Pal. Your lessons make my life with Fuji much better. Thank you from Sweden.
So nice of you, thank you!!!! 🇸🇪
Great tips! Thanks!
That intro though🔥so good, great video!
Thank you Drew!!!!! Appreciate it man!!! 🙏
After buying XT4, directly coming into this video after your fav lens vid for better understanding. Thanks for the information. Love from India....
Thank you so much my friend!! 🙏🙏
Prof. Fuji, you are the best !!
Good info. You look a lot more stable than the other day😃
Thanks for this clear and efficient explanation
Greetings from Ireland. Nice to see you back in good nick.
Hey, thanks! Cheers!!!!
This is one of your very best!
You're intros are great, you're such a dad hahaha!
-greatwork
As always very informative video. Thank you.
So nice of you!
Great video very useful.
Very well explained
Brilliant as always. Do not stop making videos! But.... please mention the xt30 along with the xt3 and 4!! ahah
Fantastic video 👍
This past week just arrive my new love, a black XT3 and its amazing!!!! please, do some videos about slow motion. Thank for everything, I learn a lot with you!!
Great video as always 👌🏻
Thanks Mattia! I appreciate that!
Your channel is very informative for Fuji fans, Seriously speaking.. Fuji should make you an ambassador,
Love your intro
Fabulous! Thank you!
You bet!
I was wondering what will be the reciprocal rule for APS-C format cameras and was planning on looking it up when your video popped up. Very timely indeed! Keep those videos coming!
genial, como siempre. sigue así
Great info especially about motion blur. What I would love to see is a variety of shaky hands at a certain shutter speed to see how well image stabilization really works with shaky hands.
really your videos making new ideas
You are wonderful as always
Thank you so much!
Great video, I am trying to photograph wildlife and fail with shots when trying to get kestrels, Buzzards etc in flight, they are never in focus. You touched on what I might be doing wrong when you talked about auto focus on max and tracking on minimum, I’ve always had tracking high. Thanks for what you do.
This is a rare channel. Actually useful and realistic. Most channels that mention Fuji are either bashing it to protect their known sponsors in the price sensitive segment this camera competes in, or trying to convince us there is something magical about Fuji using nonsense only idiots would buy.
I'm sure another video will be about metering modes on Fuji XT-3. 🙂 Keep creating that Fuji magic, sir! 🙏
Thanks again for sharing. I will keep trying with 1/250 and see what will happen
helpful video, tks
Never even thought of the crop factor when calculating min shutter! Of course, this totally makes sense.
Happy to have IBIS in my new XT4!
mannn I'm full videographer using X-T3... Your chanel is always my go too even before manual sometimes xD
Chris, your vids are an incredible asset to the community at large. Thanks for your efforts.
As fate would have it, I was battling OIS myself this week. I think this discussion needs a little clarification (see this video around the 6 min mark) that I was under unaware of until two days ago...and so are MANY others;
Pressing the shutter halfway to engage OIS ONLY works in AF-C, NOT AF-S (with IS Mode to Shooting Only). This can be a big issues since at longer focal lengths, OIS may be necessary to help compose in the first place.
This is unlike every other camera system I can think of. To get the OIS to engage with shutter button halfway down, you have to go to AF-C. In fact, this is hinted at on page 136 of the manual, but I glossed right over it initially. This really can matter too. In AF-S, the OIS engages just before shutter actuation, and its effects are not visible to the maker.
Anyway, try it for yourself. Let me know if I'm missing something. Keep up the good work.
Hmmmm. I’ll check this out. Interesting!!!
awesome vid tnx a lot :)
Another great, informative video! What else can I say.
Wow, thanks!
another quality session
Thanks Andy!
Usually I always have a tripod with me. When not needed for camera stabilization, it is useful to thoughtfully frame the shot. Besides that, I am always fascinated about the OIS an open aperture abilities the XF50-140 offers for usage without a tripod in twilight conditions. :)
Thank You!
You’re a creative genius.
Thank you!!!!!!!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏
very clear
Awesome Topic , Ibis or ois Help's Camera Shake Not Subject Motion Blur Thnx For The Tip Highly Appreciated Ur Work.🤯
Great video, as usual, brother! I think young photographers should travel back in time to the 70’s or just the 80’s and use tripods of those years. They will find today tripods are feathers and will never leave them behind again. I’ve heard many kids complaining about 5-8 pound tripods or about spending $300 more to shred 1 or 2 pounds of weight to then slap a brick of a head on top of the tripod! Absurd 😂🤣😂🤣😂. Great teachings, thank you for all you do for us!
Loving the intro, 🤣 !
thank you
This is great, can you create one for video image stabilisation? - covering gimbals, tripods and advice for handheld video and lens choices?
Thanks Chris. 👍
You bet!!!
You can use “continuous+motion” for panning to follow birds in flight.
Hi there, I love the video! I was just hoping you would include gimbal stabilizers and whether to keep the IBIS on in the camera while using with gimbals. Thx 🙌🏼
Yeah, gimbal is its own video as there's just too much to go over. However, I probably should have at least mentioned that as an option in this video. I totally missed that one!
Great content as always. Would it be a stretch to ask for advice on how to light up a setup like yours? I want to do educational videos for athletes on the subject of anti-doping, and atm I have a godox sl120, and another godox led light for the fill light. Both are set to 5200k, and I've manually set my x-t4s white balance.
Thanks
I wonder if all this image stabilization is making cameras and lenses more vulnerable. After all, there are now many moving parts in the camera body or in the lens, and I would be really interested to know whether everything still works as well after five or six years as it did at the time of purchase.
And by the way, I really like your videos! Look forward to each new one!
Susbcribed! Been watching your vids for a while. Love them.
One thing I do didn't find is image stabilization for video. I've heard it has issues at least on the xs10 that I own. Any tips?
The instrumental on the intro is everything 😂 shake it off indeed or rather avoiding it
Great video man!!! Just a few questions, with a camera without IBIS (x-t30), when I select the continuous stabilization I can see in the view finder the difference when turning it off. However for the shooting only option, I can't appreciate the difference on the view finder after half pressing the shutter button. Does the stabilization kicks in when pressing the button?
Also, if I have my camera on a tripod in a bit shaking environment, like getting a long exposure on a bridge that has vibrations generated by cars, will keeping the OIS on help reduce that blur?
Thanks man!! I've really been learning a lot about my camera from your videos :D
An interesting future video (at least to me) might be some testing to see if/when having IBIS/OIS on when on a tripod actually matters. (I saw a video a while back for a different camera brand -- don't remember which -- where the vlogger didn't see any negative impacts.)
Nice video!!! Do i need shooting mode 1 or 2 when using my 100-400mm lens at shutter speeds of 1,2000s ??
I am a big fan of my tripod, I love to do really slow exposures.
Grazie.
Thank you so much François!! I really appreciate the support!! 🙏
i love that xf 50-140
Excellent video, Chris. One question - if you are on a tripod, but it is windy, it seems like IS should help with that, correct?
Hey Chris! I've been following your videos for a few years now, ever since I picked up my first Fuji camera (XT3) - I came for the image stabilization information, but I am actually MOST interested in your Synology data management bay in the beginning of the video. I've been looking into different storage solutions instead of having multiple different labelled external hd's laying around. Can you provide a little bit of information as to how you manage all of your photos via Synology? I have only ever used external hard drives that are plug and play, so I am unsure where to start when looking into this sort of solution.
Thanks for being great as always!
