Lovely tonality in the shots. Some people don't get Ferrania, but it's not like its contrast is a secret. I shot my first roll of it on Sunday. I took a portrait of my 6 year old son which blew me away. The silver content adds so much. The contrast adds drama. So I bought more!
Cracking film. I was really surprised to the difference of contrast from each of the developing methods. A real eye opener! Cracking vlog m8 :-).......... Gaz is a diamond!! :-D
Awesome video. Thanks for the mention “Vijay Kethamakka”. You were spot on with the pronunciation by the way 😊 Always loved your work. Your darkroom stuff is inspiring. Please keep going.
I've just found a site here in Italy that sales the ferrania p 30 for 9 euros... I think I'll get some... I don't have xtol though... I use ilford's ilfosol 3... I'll have to do a test strip... See you!
I bought a 'PUCH ALPINE' scooter -- made in Austria -- it was nothing but trouble -- the Kick-Starter use to fall off and the Hooter stopped, the it had to be regularly de=coked-- taking off the cylinder head etc etc -- Wish I had paid the extra for an Italian make !
Loved to video Roger it’s a film I been looking at to give it a whirl lovely and punchy beautiful tones prices seem to gone up I am seeing some at £20 + a roll seems expensive but I am taken by the results
Great job! I hope you will give the NEW FERRANIA P33 ISO 160 a go? It was like pulling teeth to get any development guidelines from them..... They finally suggested stock D76 for 10 minutes at 20C. 🙏 Always XLNT videos and lots to learn. THANKS!
Love this video Rodger. You getting funnier and funnier as time goes on. You definitely have a fantastic sense of humor. Love he darkroom sessions. Keep up the great work. You're one of my favorite RUclips channels
Lovely punchy shots. I'll have to see if I can get some cheap. Something I noticed re: tripods. The wee tripod you were using for the film shots, its a lot easier if you have the tilt adjust arm facing outwards, as long as you're not shooting real wide. They were made for video cameras that have a screen so trying to get your eye in to a camera viewfinder is awkward, as most people are right eye shooters (Gaz could barely get his chin in).It saved me some neck strain as well. I cut the arm down to half length, which eliminates the wide angle problem completely. It does sometimes mean re-wiring your brain into reverse as it then tightens the other way :-)
Hey... Thanks for the mention... I've just ordered some stuff to set up my darkroom... Ilford chemicals and paper... I've got some inspiration from your videos... Thanks. I have some hp5 and Ilford panf 50 around... hope to try the ferrania p 30 in the near future...
Nice Roger! I've been wanting to buy some of that film, I'm pretty sure Federico Fellini Used that Film. He is one of my favorite directors and made some of the best movies. 8 1/2, La Dolce Vita LA Strada, Nights of Cabaria just to name a few of his masterpieces.
For my opinion your results are very similar with my experements with Agfa Aviphot films, they are sutch contrasty and tonality too very looks like, grain is finer on P30 but Aviphot 200 has higer ISO... Your choice of subjects for photosession is great, well done Roger!!!
Tried it, think it’ll be just the one time. Contrast out control. I know I can experiment with shorter developing times, but hey, I still have a lot of (old version) Agfa APX to go through....
Oh it seems be a good film I used Ferrania 45 years ago and the grain of the film was imposible to youse it only for some special works But this you experiment does no exhibit grain Unefortunely here on ARGENTINA i can obtain it In the years ´70 FERRANIA made this film here on ARGENTINA Best regards
Nice video. Nice shots! XTOL results were interesting - I always use 1:1. Did you see any increase in sharpness and grain with the Rodinal? Thanks, again.
Must give that film a go, looks nice and punchy. I used to have a Vespa, lent it to a friend and she managed to ride it straight into a stack of pallets. ouch.
Fun is great but dont short chane us on the learnig bits. Specifically pleas show the developer test in full screen as on a small scren contact pints dont sho much. or at lest the two or thee best.
How long does it usually take it for you to do one print? The full workflow with test strips, contrast checks and one/two full prints until you got the dodge/burn as you want?
What's the availability like these days? My understanding (which I agree is probably mistaken) is that it's boutique, barely hanging on by a thread, irregularly and unreliably unavailable and as likely as not to never be available again the next time you go back to buy more. The creators worked miracles to get the whole operation going again, but I was under the impression that its existence was, and continues to be, imminently threatened with failure from day to day. Correction on this matter, if it can be offered, would be appreciated.
No fking chance is that the original formula. If it is, those movie makers would have pushed and filtered the living hell out of this current formulation
Love seeing this printed in a darkroom. P30 is so demanding, but even more rewarding when you get the results. It's so smooth and inky. Awesome stuff!
Photographs look like medium format quality, incredible.
What a great idea to theme the shoot after the movies, Gaz is a star, well done, really enjoyed it, best yet!
Cheers Graham.
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss The Gaz Vespa shot is pure Frederico Fellini. Enjoyed this video and your photographs! Style galore! Jolly Good Show, Mate!!!
Great video and great pictures! Keep up the good work! I work as an engineer at Piaggio, the Vespa manufacturer.. So I was pleased twice!
Very cool! Cheers.

Cracking vlog m8 :-).......... Gaz is a diamond!! :-D
Love the last photograph!!
Your shows get better by the day, Rog. You even shoot with the Chinon I had back in the day!
Thanks Tad
Absolutely love the zebra striped shoes!
Printed lovely the tones turned out beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video. Thanks for the mention “Vijay Kethamakka”. You were spot on with the pronunciation by the way 😊 Always loved your work. Your darkroom stuff is inspiring. Please keep going.
My pleasure 😊
Such a fun shoot and video! Love that scooter against the corrugated wall!
Those look superb! The portraits next to the bike and those killer zebra shoes were awesome!
I've just found a site here in Italy that sales the ferrania p 30 for 9 euros... I think I'll get some... I don't have xtol though... I use ilford's ilfosol 3... I'll have to do a test strip... See you!
Great captures! I have fun watching your footages. Thanks for sharing!
Great video Roger. It’s amazing how you can rock a film canister so quickly while playing the accordion at the same time!!!! That’s talent
Great pictures! Enjoying your videos.

I love the addition of Gaz to the videos, his Vespa makes me miss my zx6r.

great work ! I really like the one with the foot. Very nice film, need to try it
Like how those came out. I'll have to pick me up a roll.
Great video. I got a Vespa 3 years ago. Took photos of it on some expired Ferrania color film I had.. Too funny.
Love this video Rodger. You getting funnier and funnier as time goes on. You definitely have a fantastic sense of humor. Love he darkroom sessions. Keep up the great work. You're one of my favorite RUclips channels

Really enjoyed this video, you and had are hilarious wanted a roll of this film but can never get it while in stock at analogue wonderland keep it up!
Can't wait until it is available in 120!
Love the photos of the chairs, I think I need to pick up some of this film :D
That was in a small cafe where I stopped for a cup of Tea.
Lovely punchy shots. I'll have to see if I can get some cheap.

It's on my list Iain. Cheers for the info.
Wonderful episode and... I love the Vespa back! 😍
The one with the shoe in was my favourite :)

Nice shots! Great subject. The prints looked wonderful. This film is for people who really want that punch 🤜🏿
Most definitely!
GAZ is quite the treasure of a friend. "Got some nice tones going on." Now you're talking like a photographer!
That film has a great look.
I like the PHOTOS
Thanks.

I've been shooting Rollei Retro recently. I believe that's Aviphot also.
First like comes from norway. Nice pictures !!!
Awesome! Thank you!

I love the pics my friend , next time take some pictures of toys jajajjaja 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!!!!!

Did you see any increase in sharpness and grain with the Rodinal? Thanks, again.
I was looking more at the contrast and didn't make a larger print of the Rodinal negs to see the grain Richard.
Must give that film a go, looks nice and punchy. I used to have a Vespa, lent it to a friend and she managed to ride it straight into a stack of pallets. ouch.
Damn!!! Poor Vespa
Isle of Wight hey? Im Southsea based.
Ha Awesome.
Oh!!!when Gaz started the engine I could smell that petrol/oil mix of two-stroke!! Love Vespa!!! And it's NOT a moped!!! It's a scooter!!!! 😉😁
Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback... Noted!
How long does it usually take it for you to do one print? The full workflow with test strips, contrast checks and one/two full prints until you got the dodge/burn as you want?
How long is a piece of string Jonny? A well exposed neg not long at all after testing. Half hour maybe.

Loads of it about here in the UK. Ferrania are also quite active on social media.
I used to have a Vespa. Looks awesome, drives like a pile of rubbish😄
The Vespa is a SCOOTER not a moped! A moped has pedals (the clue's in the name) bigger wheels and a smaller engine.
Ha Ha I got lynched at a MOD festival for saying it was a Moped! Now I know!
No fking chance is that the original formula. If it is, those movie makers would have pushed and filtered the living hell out of this current formulation
Its too expensive to take it seriously
Every time you mention my name my ansum, you have to pay me £50, royalties don’t yah know tut tut
LOL
pretty unaccurate and stereotypically italian music
