    Yes,you made a good point at the end about lower kv verses higher kv using the same basic motor... higher kv will draw more amps from esc causing more heat...

    It really runs good :)
    Today, someone ruined their Traxxas spartan on 6s, he did a speed run on the same place i did, flipped it, landed on the nose, smacking down, batteries flies out and he split the hull.. RIP

      It's not your fault Steve, blame Traxxas lol. There outdated connection failed We didn't.. it's happened to all my Traxxas plugs.
      Lol me too brother I didn't feel like changing them either. I think soldering battery connector is my least favorite part of the hobby. I don't mind the motor bullets quite as much as to battery connectors. Getting the darn bullets into the ec5 connector is a pain in the but at times.

    Told you that motor likes a big esc. I do 65mph on smaller pond with sss4082 2000kv, 180A esc, 4500mah 6s, 48mm prop. Probably a bit to much for the df since that hull is heavier...
    Maybe something to try as a setup.

      @@IRONCLADRC not sure about the tp, but with that esc i would run a bit lighter motor or just buy a big esc like a 300a/12s or something so you can power almost every motor(experiment) you have. Also have other mono2 on 4092 1800kv, Swordfish 220A on 6s . That one is even quicker (106kph), but couldn't use it in that little pond because it doesn't turn quick enough. Put on another drive, turnfins and rudder and see how it will go when weather gets warmer. Then hopefully get a prepped prop since i am not a goeroe with that. Did try a lot and watched a lot of video's, but not very succesfull.
      Keep on filming and experimenting, i see in the comments people get enthousiastic about the hobby...

Or with the other motor And if the turns of the motor can be programming on the esc and will help with the temp or not …. Greating from Holland

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 года назад

      Prop choice is what will drop the temp. Larger props demand more amp draw than smaller props kinda like spur & pinion in a truggy if I put a less aggressive prop on the boat it would run cooler Temps

    I am not sure i understand how a cheap battery makes electronics get hotter??? i always thought a bad ass decent quality 60c battery would make temps hotter than a 25c decent battery? I know i puffed many batts in boats do to them being the weak link in my setups... thanks

    • @IRONCLADRC

      The cheap ingredients used in the lipo it self is what causes excessive heat with electronics.

    • @swaldoski
      @swaldoski 2 года назад

      @@jamesatkinson7517 Yes it had more spunk...No more hot wires.It allows more amps to be drawn from batteries. More amps more power.I have tons of batteries so I didn't want to spend 50.00 for 5 pairs of qs8 (8mm) conectors so I went with the ec8s 10 pairs for 20-30.00 I used the brass conectors from the ec8s for the motor and wires from esc to motors.they are heavy.They will add some weight but it's worth it.
