“My Way” is actually a French song that Anka put English lyrics to called “Comme D’Habitude.” The other authors are Francois, Revaux, and Thibault.

Right. To say that he wrote My Way certainly is not correct. Any more than saying the Johnny Mercer wrote Autumn Leaves. Both Anka and Mercer wrote brilliant English lyrics to existing French songs.

True, but the song in its English version is known world-wide so Jacques Revaux who composed the music can be very grateful. I don't know of anyone outside of French speaking countries who knew it was he who composed the music, Claude François and Gilles Thibaut writing the lyrics. Personally, knowing both versions very well, I much prefer "My Way".

"My Way" is a song popularized in 1969 by Frank Sinatra set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François[1][2] and first performed in 1967 by Claude François. Its English lyrics were written by Paul Anka and are unrelated to the original French song.

Mr. Anka is one of the greatest artists of all time. As a 69 years old, I’ve been listening to his music for as long as I remember.
In today’s age when many “weirdos” are called artists and noise is called music, it is refreshing to know that he is still putting out new material and inspiring the young generations.
10 years ago I discovered a 7 years old Norwegian girl named Angelina Jordan who was inspired by Anka’s music among others and has been introducing many of these great artists to the new generations.
Here is a performance by her of “My Way” when she was 11 years old. No fancy equipment, no autotune, just beautiful voice full of emotions. ruclips.net/video/JTSyLwDCXRI/видео.html

Sinatra hated “My Way”, as it did not fit his personality at all - he was not bombastic as the lyrics indicate. He thought it was a lousy song. He had stated this countless times. He was forced to continue singing it as it was very popular and he did not want to disappoint his fans,

Mr. Anka made a serious bid to place a Canadian Football League team in New York in 1971. That was before the USFL. Let’s put this into perspective… hats off to Sinatra… but he didn’t revolutionise music!… At the time he sang My Way it was just another crooning song and somewhat boring… It never reflected his life in particular… Bur when Elvis sang that song, despite his youth at 38 years of age, chosen to sing to the world via satellite, the song on the stage of the world became a whole different meaning…
Elvis was the only artist that went through it all, broke all the barriers and spit it out as the sing says. They initially stated he’d never rate!!! The MAN is still on top and My Way was written for him more than any artist deserves!

Anka has great lyrics and songs that will last what ever if forever , i like him singing with his daughter, and i always remember as a kid the song from KODAK film commercial , ( the times of your life) still makes me cry, and of course MY WAY, who sang it the best ? FRANK or ELVIS?

Paul’s version of ‘My Way’ was very good. He did a cable tv special thirty years ago, HBO or Showtime perhaps.🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼

I grew up in the 70s, so I remember Paul Anka. I didn’t know he wrote “I Did it My Way.” I always considered that song to be the devil’s theme song. I am praying that Someone more impt than Frank Sinatra will touch Paul Anika’s life!!

Unbelievable Talent! You are gorgeous!! The Rat pack heard started Frank as the head, Dean Maryin, Sammi Davis Jr, Peter Lawford is tgat correct ? Joey Bishop. My friend, Aida Konop played back to back piano in the Joey Bishop show & she went by Jessica Krane (your age or older if alive) & I heard all kinds great stories. Apoarently, Lauren Bacall named them the Rat Pack but, Frank did not like it. So, you had such a great future so young. Is it true you started out writing the theme song for Annette Funicello. Bet she was fun! Is that true? Then changed for Johnny? Is that true?
