This is not gong to happen. This is small dev, working with Unreal 4 which doesn't have support for this, unlike Siege engine which was created from the ground up for one purpose, to have destruction. You can't simply "add" it, if the engine isn't built around it.... too bad Siege is otherwise such a joke with 0 immersion

There's so much more they can add to improve the game first, like more maps, better AI, more varied AI behavior, option of cutting the power like they promised etc.. The SWAT in my country doesn't even have access to wall breaching charges, they don't work quite like in Siege in real life. SAS uses some, but they are not as quick to use as in Siege, nor something everyone can carry. Considering what disaster the PvP alpha for this game was, I think it's a miracle that PvE is even this good. They have still 5 maps and the PvP to deliver and 12 months to do it, over extending with a small studio might not be wise.

ready or not is just on a whole other level. i dont recall any other swat-style games that comes to mind recently that delivers this kind of quality, even in alpha state. not even zero hour, and even then their focus is more PvP a la Rainbow Six Siege. their coop is cool, but lacks friendly AI. theres also Ground Branch but its also military-focused and less SWAT and still no friendly AI.
Also civilian AI, it raises the stakes to whole another level too. Because you can't be sure if you can shoot or not, it's nerve wrecking in a way that other games than SWAT4 lack. When you can shoot everything you see, it becomes just another pew pew game. Police raids are much more interesting

You would actually recruit mainly United States SWAT members from major cities like Dallas, LADP, NYC, Miami, etc due to daily work dealing with room clearing with their lives on line. Compared to NATO Euro SF members who train a lot and have great fitness. But never looked down a barrel of a crim's gun.
1:20 This is exactly what the No Man's Sky team did. Both of these teams had a huge shitstorm coming their way. You can try to corporate-talk your way out of it, you can abandon ship - or you can hunker down, don't say a word but read every post coming your way and come out guns blazing with a truly changed product. Show, don't tell. I feel like that's what they did here. The Internet Historial has a good video on NMS that explains this very well and I think more studios should do this / be allowed this by their publisher.

The issue I have with the game is that wand to see under the doors is so overpowered and I’m pretty sure that thing doesn’t really exist to be able to see under doors. If it does, 99% of swat teams don’t have those. I also heard a swat commander say that those don’t exist if they do he’s never seen one.
Same. Hopefully it would put FPS games back on track, and make other devs do something similar. I doubt it though, because AAA industry is now about MTX milking and not gaming itself. MTX would ruin this kind of game, where immersion and gritty realistic look is everything

Looking a lot better, but yeah the Ai still needs a lot more work to make it seem more alive and not just stand there stupidly. Voice acting is also pretty mediocre and some of it feels very out of place. But otherwise feels like a really solid base. The wand also seems way too easy to use, definitely needs a chance to be spotted and responded on(running away or shooting the door).
Is Zero Hour or Thunder Tier One a good alternative for now? Ready or Not looks amazing and takes me way back to the good old days of SWAT, but I'm looking to play something between now and when it releases. Not sure which game to buy though. OR should I just splurge on Ready or Not now?
The only thing this game is missing that I loved in SWAT4, is being big enough for 2 teams of players, but also more importantly, I miss having the Cameras, where you can see the view of your other teammates and other team! SWAT4 really is STILL the gold standard all these other Swat like games. GroundBranch, Ready or Not, and Zero Hour STILL have not reached. They bronze and Silver, but Still not close to the Gold with SWAT4.

For me and my friends this game is a must buy, we played SWAT4 and now we are playing Zero Hour and GroundBranch but we all are waiting for this gem.
Ground Branch has nothing to do with SWAT unlike the other games you mentioned.

I missed that SWAT 4 type of room clearing, tense situations, shouting on suspects, zip-tying them etc.....this looks very promising.

They actually have the cameras that can be toggled with T. It’s pretty neat and adds immersion . With you being able to change the FPS for it.
