Beautiful locomotives. I prefer MTH however, the MTH mold is outdated. It represents the very early ES44 models which is correct for the Every Child Matters locomotive. The Lionel mold is the more common ES44 with the cab door being on the Engineer side, and the vents are also more prototypical despite not being see through. The Railking Imperial ES44 represents the later ES44 variants. I wish MTH would retool their premier model.

I was able to get the BNSF in the Heritage 2 paint scheme, both cab #'s. Can't wait to see them! Do these come with snow plows?

Chris, I’ve also accumulated four of these recently. I bought one of them from a store you know well; Toys, Trains and Collectibles. It was a UP. They had the two CPs on display but they belong to one of the employees.

Those are very nice locomotives. I'm not sure of the price point for each, but Atlas seems to set the bar a bit higher than Lionel, as far as detail. As far as crew talk, I'm not sure if it is necessary to change over to Spanish, unless you are running a layout based in the Southwest. The same goes for the Canadian locomotives, which also have everything labeled in French. I've run both many times in my career. You can switch between languages on the display screens, which is kind of cool, really. Also, with few exceptions, most ACe's have the isolated cab and the SafeSet electric hand brake. UP was a late adopter of both. GE uses a different style of electric brake. There are buttons to operate them, located right next to either type. I'm not sure if Atlas or Lionel want to add that detail, or if it is just an omission because they based these models on the earlier UP units. Either way, they are excellent locomotives. As always, an fine video.

Thanks Chris. Another great review video. Admittedly, I don’t have a lot of knowledge about modern diesels like these but the differences in features between Atlas and Lionel is interesting, to say the least. I really like the see through screening on the Atlas locomotives. I imagine it would help dissipate heat from the motor(s) when working hard.

Atlas (MTH) vs Lionel; the handrail stanchions on the Atlas don't appear to be individually mounted stanchions as they are on the Lionel. They are less defined on the Atlas and appear to be from a stamped piece of framework attached to the body and bent up at 90 degrees. If you watch the various rail cam sites you will come across the Ferromex units operating in the states so changing the crew talk is a matter of personal preference.

I have the CSX main line behind my house and I have been seeing a lot more single engine unit trains one was CSX and empty gondolas another was Union Pacific and auto racks

These three Atlas models look spectacular, Chris. I like the CP colouring because it represents a very important contribution to the ongoing effort of reconciliation between the government of Canada and the First Nations people. I like the attention to detail that Atlas shows in these models. Makes for a great visual effect on a well shot video, like this one.
