Sharp looking locomotive, Chris, only made nicer by your coupler modification and weathering. Enjoyed the tutorial showing how you accomplished the work. Even though I always enjoy seeing weathered equipment, I have just never gone there. I admire your skills and willingness to take the leap to weather some of your equipment. Great video! Bill B.
Very nice. I couldn't do it myself. It would look like an eight-year-old took a brush to it.
Chris - New lighting on the layout is great, it makes such a difference in the videos. Really enjoyed video, would like to see more of the PC E8. Please remove the faux air hose from the 2rail coupler. You have done such an amazing job making the unit more realistic and that just jumps out. Hope all is well and Summer is great. Jim P.
Great video! Can’t beat Kadee couplers and some light weathering. Much more realistic.
Was a pleasure to watch this video. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to make it. The E-8 turned out gorgeous.
Thanks!
I like the weathering. Looks great. Never had the nerve to do this. I would be afraid spray paint could coat the interior, especially when painting the chrome vent. But makes the engine more real world and the Kade coupler on the front looks good too.
He's approaching 'Norm-level', maybe.
A very good weathering job, Chris. I like the lighter touch you've given it, which is effective but not overdone.
Good job weathering it.
I ordered the Amtrak phase I paint scheme E8. Maybe it came it too. Nice weathering job Chris.
Chris....I hope you seal it with dullcote after you weathered it........looks good bud.....
Sure did!
Sweet!! Just picked up the Burlington Northern version.
Awesome job on the tutorial, I've thought about changing out some front couplers for scale but always thought it would be hard, thanks for showing how to do it. Great job weathering, just the right amount, looks realistic without being too different than the clean passenger cars.
Thanks Art!
Great video... thanks for posting it! My Amtrak E8 arrived a few weeks ago. It pulls my 7 MTH coaches like a champ.
That looks so much better!
Looks awesome! You did a great job on the weathering
Well done Chris!
Finally the Atlas E8 getting some loving, I love the E8s, I was gonna pre-order them but I backed out because of the money situation.
Nice tutorial, and the weathering turned out great!
The engine looks great.
Well done!!
Looks great on that engine
Nice upgrades!
Would love to have my blue bonnet camelback weathered
Looks good for a quick weathering job, I agree that gap up front hurts the overall appearance
Nice video, thank you
Outstanding
Is your whole fleet converted to kadees
I wonder who owned the engine first
Pennsylvania or New York Central
No - I did convert some of my H21a hoppers a few caboose couplers.
Any particular reason not to use a K-dee electro coupler?
Where is your compressor for the airbrush? I never heard it kick in. Or did you do a voiceover?
I had to do a voice over. My audio failed on all the weathering shots....
