RMT's always been a great value for the money spent from the beginning. I've got six of their "Beep" diesels and let me tell you, put two or more together and they'll pull anything! I wish they'd start making them again! If you're going to York I'm told Walt Matuch from RMT will be at the Henning's Trains booth so I'm definately stopping by and hoping I can say "Hello!" and "Thank you!" .W\\\\\\\\
I have over a dozen RMT cars on pre-order with Patrick's Trains. He keeps adding roadnames that are rarely used by Lionel, MTH, or even Atlas!!! The Soo Line Soo Locks car is with UPS right now coming from Mr. Muffin!
Great review Hoss! Definitely a game changer when it comes to quality plus price. Can’t wait for the woodsides to start arriving! I don’t know how RMT did it but thank you.
You did an excellent presentation of these. Walter Matuch has been providing very reasonably priced 0 gauge products for over 2 decades. He's the last in the line of (now defunct) K-Line and Williams. I'm happy you scale lovers have a new line of Boxcars to enjoy. I'm more enthusiastic about RMT's 36' reefers. I believe this tooling came from K-Line.
Love RMT. I agree on the box. If they are putting that much effort into the box you can only imagine what they put into the cars. I have some of the older TTX Flatcars and they are in my top 5 favorites out of everything I have. Awesome video!
@@PghTrainFanatic hit up Rick at Neely’s Trains in Altoona. He had a pile of them just a few months back. Three different Road numbers for $25 each. He says the wheels wobble but I haven’t had any problems with them.
Always loved RMT and I have many cars and Locomotives in my collection. However, I had trouble with the gauging on the trucks with these ore cars as they will not stay on the track. After contacting Walter in April, I have yet to receive the replacement trucks that were promised.
Glad you like them Al! They’re the new best thing in O scale. Lionel and MTH can’t compete with this price point for just as nice of a car to be honest, If not nicer.
Is RMT a new company? I have never heard of them before. Thanks for introducing this company to me Nick. I’m amazed at the detail for only $35. That’s the price of Weaver 20 years ago. 😃🚂👊
No actually RMT has been around for a while. However, a lot of their previously run cars were less detailed and not full scale. The new premium line that they are making is fully scale and has see tons of realistic details every bit as nice as expensive line out and MTH cars, they’re also releasing Woodside reefers arriving this week. And I will be reviewing those as well. I’m really excited to see them.
RMT no longer sells direct. You have to get their products from hobby retailers. Henning's and Pat's trains are a couple of them, there are others as well. Any hobby shop that can buy from Emery (the distributor) is a potential RMT dealer. RMT itself _might_ be able to tell you who carries their items in your area (makes sense, but I don't know for certain ).
Those are some nice-looking cars. l like how the paint on the boxcar is done that makes it look like actual metal. I must say I'm surprised. I thought you were going to pitch some kind of locomotives that were unnaturally short and stubby. Hum, scale cars behind unnaturally short locomotives. I don't get it. Spraying the ore loads with Testors dullcote would make them even more convincing by eliminating the plastic looking sheen.
Pretty safe bet they're sticking to 3-rail 'O'. N has a larger market share (#2 behind HO), but there are also a lot more companies producing equipment for that scale.
Changed? - All these types of cars were suppose to contain the older type Bettendorf trucks, not modern roller-bearing. His PS-1's are identical to Lionel's version including the interior load divider and bottom. I would think Lionel will be concerned about this. I always said, there's no reason for OEM scale 40' cars to cost over 40 bucks. We have been getting ripped off for years. Looks like the couplers are better being closer to the body. Nice all around products. I'm sure he will do well with volume buyers! Waiting on a couple Wood Chip Cars soon....I hope? S.
@@EL-rn2jt not completely true about the trucks. Railroad started converting some equipment to roller bearings in the 50’s. It just wasn’t mandated for a couple decades later. the only thing Lionel should be concerned about is the price tag and it being less then half of theirs for an equally detailed scale car.
Those PS1 cars and schemes only had 2 spring Bettendorfs. His web site shows them as well. 50' cars could have both as Atlas did. Pecos River trucks had stamping on their trucks Both are a nice detail!

Yes he will I mentioned that toward the end of this video in the conclusion. Please stop by and tell him you saw my review video 😊
@@PghTrainFanatic Will do!
Well done Nick! I'm so glad there are new companies that produce O gauge rolling stock. Especially in NJ.. 👏😊
Agreed! Exciting! Thank you
One word. HOW??
Those look amazing! Sign is up.
Nice review Nick. Both cars look great.
Those are absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Nick i haven’t seen this entire review just yet but rmt did a nice paint job on that box car and thanks for showing this my friend 👍🚂

Nice! I'm going to look for these at York
RMT box car looks great. To be fair the Menards box car is a model of a X-29 and thus smaller than a PS-1. Both are scale
Thanks for sharing.
Great review Nick! Good detailing. Good pricing too. Will have to check them out at York.
Please do! Thanks John!

The only time I can't be at York Walter will be at Hennings, yea I knew I was missing a good show.
You know I think I remember seeing those trains when I visited Uncle John's Flea Market
Another great video! Shame they don't yet make any road names I'm looking for.

Very cool, Can these cars be ordered on RMT or do I have to goto like pats trains to order?

Can I ask you a question, do these trains run on a 027 curve? Thanks

Ooof they have roller bearing trucks w/ triple springs in the boogies. to modern for this car.
That’s incorrect railroads were widely converting to roller bearing trucks in the 50’s Google lookup
Made in...........china
WILLIAMS BY BACHMANN OSCALE
These cars are not comparable at all to Williams. These are just as detailed as a Lionel hundred dollar car
