Most importantly, we hope you learn something, and this helps you decide if this pedal or other gear showcased on the channel is right for you.
Gear Used: PRS SE with BareKnuckle Aftermaths, Peavey 5150II, BBE Sonic Stomp.
Thanks for watching!
The thing with the SS is that it's a subtle effect and people tend to "overdue" it to get more effect and then it sounds false and lousy. You have to be content with the little bit of clarity. That's what it does, and it does it well.
Exactly, and by the time it’s noticed, in come the complaints of bad tone, etc. it’s a little salt and pepper for me, not the whole meal.
I put mine in the fx loop sounds great
I have had one for years and it is awesome. It bring more low and clarity
Agreed! It’s a handy unit.
70 bucks on reverb money well spent. I use it with a plethora of vintage amplifiers and it's cool in every one of them. Reminds me of the snap from axis bold as love.
I spent around the same and absolutely enjoy it. I use moderate settings and it really makes my amps bloom.
I still use and have this sonic stomp it adds color to my playing some did not know how to use it :)
This is an older video now, but I still use this on my personal board.
Sounds great with transistor amps! Didnt like it much with my tubes
Hey Max, I agree. It can really add some flavor or it can be too harsh. I was in the recording studio recently and in the studio setting, you could really tell how it was behaving compared to live application. Thanks for watching!
Yeah we used the rack version with a Ada mp1 all digital it was a must back then I’m not sure if I would use it with my Marshall JVM 410 though, the tech is a few generations old
@@gitarman666 the ADA ruled! I’ve had a few go’s with the rack as well. They have a purpose if used the right way. Thanks for watching!
Hell fkng for the time i heard the differences
These units are highly loved and hated! Thank you for watching.
Bbe acoustimax pedal
Once you have a sonic stomp, you can't play without it.
I agree, it’s definitely has its place. This video is a bit older now, but the Sonic stomp still lives on my active pedal board. Thank you for watching!
Can it be replaced by the Electron Analog Heat?
I’ve not personally tried the electron analog heat, but I’ll see what I can find out!
It really helps my joyo zombie amplifier I put mine in the fx loop
There’s many opinions, but it’s still on our active pedal board to this day. Cheers!
@@bluecollargearreview it is like someone took a blanket off my speaker cabinet I think it works great with it amplifiers that does not have presents or midrange
Definitely agree, it adds a level of clarity along providing extra tone shaping options. These units have caught attention for a while. It’s a matter taste for sure, but they certainly have their place.
can you make a video of it?
I have the RACK versión 🤘
I have an older rack version as well.
Hi, i have a question for you, the Lo Contour Control Knob give more Bass or depth to the final sound?, and the Process Control give the ammount of that Lo Contour i Guess?
Think of it as an additional resonance and presence. If you dial your amp extremely, you may not get desired results.
I had one for my '93 strat+. If my strat was a bean, it added salt to it.
I still use this on my board! Thanks for watching.
Reminds me of the Secret Boost
What is the secret boost??
@@bluecollargearreview Chase Tone 'Secret Preamp'
@@ShlomirBareket sounds like something to research, thanks!
