1:36 you know as annoying as she can be, the concept for this episode is kinda sweet. I mean she just wants to spend time with her big brother and he refuses (with some valid reasons) it could have been pretty wholesome with the direction it was going. Sadly that didn’t exactly pan out.

yeah honestly, feel like it validated older siblings into calling their younger siblings annoying. My sister would call me DW as an insult. we got along more as we grew older, but as kids we'd be at each other throats. i don't think PBS thought to hard about DW's charaterizaton and how it could encourage siblings to bully each other.

Why did the David and Mr Ratburn joke actually make me laugh a little
Because Matt is setting up that Mr. Ratburn is lowkey gay AF, it wasn't until that gay wedding episode that he came out of the closet.
The episode I'd like to see covered in Season 4 of FU DW is Season 23's "DW and Dr. Whosit". The plot is that DW wants to watch an adult show called Dr. Whosit, but her parents say she's not old enough and forbid her from seeing it, saying the show will give her nightmares. DW gets so annoyed by everyone referencing the show that she gets Bud to distract her parents so that she can steal her parents' password book and bypass the parental controls. When she finally succeeds, she and Bud don't like the show. David and Jane catch them and punish DW with a week of no TV, while Bud goes unpunished. Arthur restates the episode's moral that you should wait until you're older to do certain things, and that you shouldn't disobey your parents because they know what's best for you, and if the episode simply ended there, it would have been satisfactory. Unfortunately, because Arthur can never win, even when he's barely in an episode of his own show, David and Jane tell him that he shouldn't be watching Dr. Whosit, either. Arthur is more mature and level-headed than DW, he genuinely liked watching Dr. Whosit, and certainly wasn't scared by it, so there was no reason for David and Jane to do this, except to make DW feel better about her own consequences. I reiterate; DW steals her parents' password book and watches a show she was specifically told not to, and gets off with a light punishment, while Arthur, who liked Dr Whosit and did nothing wrong, won't be able to watch the show for at least a few more years. It's proof that like many of the parents from Supernanny, David and Jane are far too lenient when it comes to punishing their worst child, and far too harsh when it comes to punishing their best.
And then doesn't it end with DW doing some kind of victory dance?
Isn't Dr. Whoosit a Dr. Who parody? I know little kids who LOVE that show.
They really did a downtown abbey or whatever parody but pretended dr who was not for kids. I think Arthur is overrated

Can you do the episode Sue Ellen Gets Her Goose Cooked? In that episode, Arthur & friends play a computer game called "Virtual Goose" they struggle to defeat an opponent named "Four-Hand 451" but none of them could defeat her. Ultimately it was DW who defeated Four Hand 451 who Nick named herself "Disaster Warning 99". Four Hand 451 was revealed to be Emily

I remember they had the game from that episode on the old website. Unfortunately, I'm colorblind and the yellow and green looked just similar enough to confuse me, so I'd always get it wrong through no fault of my own.

That kissing plot is so weird. I feel like it would’ve made more sense with characters like Muffy and Francine.

Come to think of it, in the books, I remember the Tibbles were not bears(??) like they are in the show.

Becoming an adult, is realizing characters like DW and Caillou are not empathetic, but are actually obnoxious, insufferable brats. A lot of people actually seem to loath what a nuisance to his family Caillou is. As a kid, you’d relate to characters like that. Now? You empathize with the adults.

That's a good question because there are some actual animals in the series that aren't humanoid and cognizant.
There's also that thing Buster says about being creeped out by "cat whiskers"; and if I recall rightly, Jenna is in the background as he says it.

1) Where did DW get clothes that match Arthur's? Her mum wouldn't have bought them for her knowing that she was going to troll her brother like that. The only reason I can think of is that Arthur has kept the same style all his life and those are his old clothes that his parents couldn't be arsed to get rid of.
