As a 10-year-old this seemed like the biggest moment in TV history at the time.

Zero attempt to block, dodge or parry any punch or kick. Proper 80s scrap. Love it!
That's one of the things I always thought was brilliant about the series and still stands up. The fight scenes did actually look real and they looked like they actually made contact. I mean the amount of choreography and rehearsals they put in to them must've been a hell of a lot because in so many of the scenes the characters are really going for it!

Mike was a kick ass
You just knew Donovan and Tyler were going to have it out sooner or later. Donovan hated Tyler. Good fight, I call it a draw.
Tyler has a kind of grudging respect for Donovan, though.
@@RideAcrossTheRiverMichael Ironside and Marc Singer didn't get on during filming of V even though they respected each others talent. Despite having good on screen chemistry even though their characters hated each other.

The problem was Tyler was a covert op who specialized in fomenting Civil Wars and hiding secrets. Donovan was a reporter who reported what was really happening in the world. They viewed the same issues from opposite, though related, sides of the moral divide.
The thing was, they were both right most of the time. People did need to know the truth, and the Visitors needed to be stopped, but good people were going to die and have to get their hands unforgivably bloody in the process.
Toronto penalty to Ham Tyler. Vancouver penalty to Mike Donovan. Two minutes each for roughing and five minutes each for fighting.
