Thank you for every video you post. I’m 27 with MS. I’ve declined taking any medication so your videos are extremely helpful with the work I need to continue to do at home to help with my right leg spasticity and MS as a whole.

Thanks for watching Jace and for sharing your story! You are not alone on declining getting started on disease modifying therapies for MS. I used to agree with the hesitation. But the more I read, the earlier you get started on disease modifying therapies, the better. Keep in mind I’m not a doctor. But the literature is starting to suggest that again the earlier you start the better. But I will continue making videos on holistic/lifestyle stuff that is growing efficacy in managing Nuro degenerative diseases.

I think an effective DMT, exercise and working on gut health are all critically important.

Completely agree and support anyone who chooses that route. I’ve done extensive research on the holistic approach and many have gone into remission/no symptoms with the approach. The scare of other issues arising due to being on such invasive and strong drugs for the body isn’t worth it to me personally. This is just my personal approach currently which could change in the future but for now I’m hopeful. Would also like to add that I’ve personally seen my mother heal her symptoms/MS solely from diet change and exercise which is a strong contributing factor to my current decision. She’s been without symptoms or new lesions for over 10 years now. Hope the best for all!

@@rehabhqofficial though you are NOT a medical doctor, you are a scientist! PH.D. in Neurologic PT, means this is your area of expertise! Everyday in your practice, you're experiencing first-hand research in motion! My Neurologic PT has VERY MUCH BEEN INSTRUMENTAL with my improvements. You could be a professor! All my neurologists and PT work together! Believe me, it's teamwork.

Thank you so much for your videos, your explanations are very helpful and educational! I have been following Dr. Wahls protocol for years now, and I feel much better, more energetic and stronger when I keep track of her advice. Her approach is very much similar to what you’re explaining in this video. I hope more people get to see and learn from it! Keep up doing a wonderful job bringing the information to people 🙏

I’m so impressed with your preparation and delivery of comprehensive, evidenced base information presented in an understandable way. Terrific analogies and graphics. I’ve added back dairy in the form of plain nonfat Greek yogurt. I know or think the research on dairy doesn’t differentiate type of dairy- yogurt is still dairy 🙁. Have you run across anything different? Or on over-exercising effects on Ox stress. Thank you so much 🙌

Thanks Liz! Also, excellent questions. I will do a little research on the over exercising and oxidative stress. There is definitely a link. As far as the dairy, it depends on who you are reading. But maybe I can do a little bit more digging on that and add a video. 😊

My my wow that was extremely helpful information and yes ma'am I would love to see a video on antioxidants both pros and cons. You did have me a bit worried though, when discussing things to eliminate, I thought you were going to say coffee. Alcohol and nicotine are a non issue with me I had to give them up when they put me in the nursing home/ rehabilitation center. I spent about 7 months there, that was an experience I'll never soon forget. Any way thanks a million for this video, have yourself a great rest of your week

Great information, I had to stop it and process it and then go again! Now I need to go back and find your video on inflammation! You may be interested in the book “the Angel and the assassin “ It’s about microglial cells in the brain which are really immune cells that traveled there during the ninth day of gestation and as the title indicate can either help or hurt…. Still in the process of reading it but was stunned to realize that immune cells were in our brain on purpose

Thanks Tara! My husband has had a stroke, 5 months, still in hospital and eating everything that got him into that trouble. He is on the way home and I will be taking your advice into my heart! I would like to add not to cook with seed oils to your list. Use butter, coconut oil, fat from animals and birds. Not good if you’re vegetarian on vegan!! If there is going to be improvements do you think two months of his new diet will be enough? M❤️

    Very interesting stuff
I have a hemifacial spasm & depression that really started in 2010 I’ve had tons of tests no one can tell me why and I get Botox injections for my spasm that with or without the shots it contorts the left side of my face
I’m always interested in learning about this stuff because sadly I had to do all the research to even diagnosis myself
I do many holistic things to help control the spasms too
    Like acupuncture and supplements
My biggest fear is getting a stroke or this turning into MS OR it may already be
    Thank you for this video

Ps. The damaged mitochondria with less dna replicate faster than healthy mitochondria. So after time we have the problem with huge damaged mitochondria. So it’s also Good to have a Period of fasting in order to get rid of them.

    • @rehabhqofficial
      @rehabhqofficial  2 года назад +4

@@berndwildner6341 fun fact, achieving ketogenesis is far more complicated than people may think, and far less actually achieving it on a "ketogenic diet". I believe there is a time and a place and the right person for this type of restrictive eating. But it is definitely not for everyone and not necessary for overall general brain health.

i have been telling people who ever more or less the same thing you have said. People refuse to give up their life style. refuse to think, to actually think for themselves. They would would rather trust the medical system who is partially responsible for their poor health. i tell them to be their own advocate. No takers it seems. Too bad so sad.

Hello E, I wonder if you know how bad multiple antibiotic courses are for our microbiome? Destroys the good bac along with the bad. He may do much better with a good probiotic and giving up sugar. Those UTI bacs love sugar. Apple cider vinegar and cranberry juice work to rid the UTI bacs in the bladder. Best wishes for his recovery!

Especially, ACIDOPHILUS!!!!! Frequent UTIs benefit from higher acid intake. Berries; and acidophilus (a natural substance, probiotic). Everyone should take probiotics with antibiotics. By doing this, you will be offsetting the Ph imbalance caused by antibiotics.
