      Hello, I've been fasting for almost four years, my longer fast home has been 5 days water fast and I do fast 18 to 20 hrs daily, almost OMAD, I do 3 day fasts once a month and I have been following your Clinic since I saw "The science of fasting" in 2017. My life and my son's life have changed, he has the same OMAD regime as me but he is absolutely disciplined, it all started looking for ways to induce Autophagy. Our goal is to do a 10 day fast as he has Muscular Dystrophy and we believe that a long fast can help him reset Autophagy at DNA level, giving him the chance to remake Dystrophin or Utrophin, the main proteins he is missing right now. He is almost 16 years old and I will be reaching the Clinic as I am aware of your policies. Marbella is where we would like to go as we speak Spanish as our native language and English too. This study and the way you run the Clinic is amazing, state of the art for fasting and refeeding.

      @@kathrynhogan9273 😊...hi. The longest that I have fasted without food, only water, is five days. I have noticed at the beginning of fasts I have trouble going to sleep because of the "flu -like" symptoms that I am experiencing. It is the poisons leaving my cells entering the blood stream on their way out of my body.
      Since there is no food to digest the body has more time to detoxify the cells which only the strong-willed can endure😊. The feeling of euphoria, the health benefits, the clear -mindedness, and a BETTER connection with INFINITE MIND / GOD within has made me a permanent faster😊.
      Usually, after the first two days of a fast I have no trouble sleeping.
      I have thought about fasting for 10 days, but I don't want to get TOO skinny 😆. ..maybe one day I will try it.

    Very positive work in knowing body and living, from a contemporary platform. I think, it would great to know "Senses" which are also food. And what happens to breath (as oxidation is a major point of focus here in the study) during fasting (well, HRV changes could be a great tool). In future, Mind will be the new Body and thus Senses might be New food! Fasting certainly (physical & mental) is the bridge to Self (Healthy - Healing state). From Research to Search could be a possibility. Thank you.

    9:16 giving fruit juices to participants shows a complete lack of understanding of the science, because juices are high in sugar which stops the fat-burning upon which fasting subjects rely for fuel (humans burn ketone bodies during fasting, which substitutes glucose as the main fuel source).
    Therefore, the ideal meals during fasting are high-fat low-carb, because carbs & sugar will stop fat metabolism…you spend all this effort to get into burning fat and then you consume carbs/fruit juice which undermines your efforts? Crazy!
    Furthermore, the metabolism of sugar creates a lot ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) and the fructose moiety is also implicated in fatty liver disease in babies!

      Pottinger's Human so you’re saying that fruit juices will remove heavy metals and poisons that water won’t? Doesn’t make sense to me - you’d have to explain the mechanism before I can accept it as credible.
      Your comment on sugar not breaking autophagy is irrelevant for two reasons: firstly it will break ketosis, which is bad so unless there’s an advantage of using fruit juices over water then there’s no justification to using it, but more to the point fructose is dirty fuel - it creates Reactive Oxygen Species and whole point of this video is to hail the benefit of fasting in removing ROS from the body.
      Why go to the trouble of fasting to remove ROS and then given them something that creates ROS?

    • @GodfreyMann
      @GodfreyMann 4 года назад

      @@LTPottenger I had hoped to learn something from you about how sipping fruit juice could remove heavy metals and toxins, but you’re clearly more into new age pseudoscience than knowledge.
      I’ve no idea why you keep knocking on about autophagy and fatty liver when neither are part of the point I was making…both are simply irrelevant to a discussion on whether to give someone fruit juice or water.
      You clearly understand the words I use, but have trouble with sentences and prefer to put words into people's mouth to fit your argument. I really feel for you, but I’m not your therapist, so I’m outta here.

    If the benefits of fasting are so powerful, why wouldn't eating once every 24 or 48H be the ideal way to stay healthy year round? Why fast only periodically?

    • @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting
      @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting  3 года назад

      Hello Adrian and thank you for your question. Both approaches, long and short term fasting are beneficial. However, the benefits / results are slightly different. With a 24h or 48h fast your body might not reach ketosis fully nor will you stay in it long enough for autophagy to take full effect. So it comes down to the time length you are in the "second" nutritional programm. Short term fasts and also intermittent fasting are great for giving your digestion a rest. I would like to share with you this link to another video we published, for a more detailed explanation 👉 ruclips.net/video/pcXbruZcT_Q/видео.html

    I have an acquaintance said fasting is a diet that is not backed by science and it's bullshit. I wanted to tell showed her your video with the biggest data collected about benefits of fasting but in the end don't bother to do so because she probably don't bother to research nor know more about it before commenting.
    I do IF and I do see the benefits of it. I even compared myself now to my teens and I felt a dramatic difference esp in my energy level and well-being. I'm very thankful for your research data. It truly amazing work there. I hope there are more people who see the benefits of this.

      Mainstream science doesn't back fasting because if they promoted it , it would effect the food industry and pharmaceutical industry. They don't want us being healthy for free. They want us to eat rubbish and rely on pills to ease symptoms. All about money.
