  • In order to understand the health benefits of fasting it is important to know what happens when you are fasting. In this Episode Leonard Wilhelmi, the managing director of Buchinger Wilhelmi Lake Constance talks with Dr Francoise Wilhelmi de Toledo, the scientific director of the Fasting clinics about what happens if the body does not receive "outer food".
    Life can be stressful, challenging and exhausting. It is easier to master day-to-day challenges with a healthy body and a strong mind. Fasting creates the ideal conditions for restoring inner balance and offers various health benefits. However, it is only one component you need for a long, fulfilled life. Therefore, this podcast covers additional topics such as integrative medicine, inspiration, mindfulness and health-conscious nutrition from the Buchinger Wilhelmi AMPLIUS Programme.

I am doing this on my own but I’ve been researching vastly about the subject, and of course reading important books, such as Prof. Arnold Ehret's Rational Fasting for Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Rejuvenation & The Science and Fine Art of Fasting by Herbert M. After that they want to put me on an estrogen blocker for 5 years! My dexa scan showed my bones are extremely strong. I am 56 and 115 pounds, I run and strengh train so I am very healthy otherwise. According to the fasting method of our founder Dr. Otto Buchinger, you can also take in teas, juices, and soups, besides water. Our scientific studies show that it boosts your energy and does not break fast. Watch our video for the scientific explanation here: ruclips.net/video/R6g6j66XXC0/видео.html
      If you want to fast at home we have created our FASTING BOX which includes all the products you need for a fasting experience at home and you'll be supported by our experts and user guide.

    • @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting
      @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting  3 года назад

      Thanks a lot for your kind feedback!
      At the Buchinger Wilhelmi clinics, the main focus of our expertise and studies is on long-term fasting (5, 10, 15, 20 days or more). The key mechanism of our fasting method is the metabolic switch from absorbing glucose supplied by food intake to utilizing ketones and the body’s own fat deposits. This switch goes hand in hand with a change in the genetic programme of humans: If there is no food intake for more than 12-16 hours, genetic signaling pathways are either deactivated or activated to trigger fasting mode.

      Hi there it‘s according to the Buchinger Wilhelmi protocol that is based on our founder Dr Buchinger, a 100yrs ago. There is another Video about our programme. Patients get a small amount of vegetable broth or juice and water / herbal tea.

    I got hypoglycemic around 50 hours of my water fast. I had some fresh carrot and celery juice. Otherwise I was feeling dizzy and weak. Is that OK? I won't have anymore unless I get like that again.

      @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting  3 года назад +1

      According to our 100 years of experience in fasting and scientific studies we recommend drinking juices, broths and teas (buchinger fasting method), since water fasting is too stressful for the body. Furthermore, it does not break the fast.

    Is there an age limit for fasting.

    • @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting
      @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting  2 года назад

      Hello Susanne, whether you can or should fast depends on more determinants than just age alone e.g. previous diseases, general state of health, etc. We do not recommend young adults under the age of 18 to fast. For the elderly, a calorie restricted diet may be a good alternative to fasting. Please keep in mind that a medical practitioner experienced with fasting should always be consulted when determining the kind and length of a fast. Take care!

    Why is it necessary to empty the intestine if you’re going to fast ?

    • @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting
      @BuchingerWilhelmiFasting  2 года назад

      By emptying the bowels, fewer toxins are absorbed from the intestines. The risk of suffering from headaches decreases and the feeling of hunger is also satisfied by the emptied intestine. The reason for this is that during fasting, the stomach does not send signals to the intestines to empty, because it is no longer filled.

    Well I appreciate the presentation, I must say, you've done your best to avoid the essence of your subject matter by completely avoiding what actually happens during the fast. Unless I am mistaken, and the clinic has revised its traditional practices, Is a fast based upon broths and liquids and juices of various kinds, rather than a total water fast. Is this not true? If so, or if not, it would be honest and enlightening to know this please reference a video, if it exists, which deals with this subject in much more honest detail!

      My take on the video title was “what happens during fast” as in what happens to the body during the fast. Not what necessarily is happing in the protocol or at their location. Perhaps you’ll find that in another video.

      Big Pharma does not reward doctors who recommend fasting as a protocol for disease management as it diminishes their bottom line. In addition many doctors don't know yet that fasting is a disease management method for the body system and inexpensive. As a former type 2diabetic, I used insulin injections and drugs for no more than four months and embarked on fasting. I have never been as healthy as I am now.

      @Jessica Salvatore Jessica my sister, I'm 51years and I have nothing to gain by cheating you. Breakfast, delay it to 10am or better 12 noon. Let your last meal of the day be at 5p.m. latest 6p.m. Eat whole foods. Remove sugar and refined foods from your diet. Use green tea, ginger, cardamom for night drinks. Olive oil should be used.use vinegar in your water, mixed with lemon first thing in the morning . Do some ten minute walk every night before sleep. This is a 16:8 intermittent fasting protocol. If you sleep every night with some hunger pangs your overall health will improve drastically. If you follow this simple practices your body system will hate bad food and demand good healthy food and you'll have self-control. By the way I used to have a big belly fat and now it's gone. Self-discipline is very important. Try all this and make it your lifestyle. Any further questions about it I will try to help.
