I just hired crampons and piolet in Chamonix for about 200 Francs/20 euro and walked up to the top. Slept for 5 hours in a snow hole on the edge of the grand plateau 3700m below the top emergency refuge at about 4,200 m between the 2 peaks. It’s just a walk, but you need to know what you’re doing to minimise risk, wait for good weather etc. It’s dangerous if you get lost in fog, caught in avalanche/rock fall etc. Death rate for this climb is about 1/200…not insignificant.
In regards to Secondary school qualifications, my school made all the students do BTEC sport in place of a GCSE. I managed to gel a lvl 2distinction star which on google says is equivalent to an 8/9. And i got 5 8s 3 9s and 1 7 in english literature. Will this pull me down if i want to apply to cambridge?
Good video, but did you do it without a guide? Kind of looked like you were in a group? I would love to do this but I've seen the cost of a guide for the trip and it's expensive so if there's a way of doing it the way you did then I would be keen!
@@IlyasCambridgeAdvice Would you recommend doing it the way you did it? Some people have told me it's very dangerous without a guide but perhaps with basic training and some friends its a little safer? Sorry for all the Q's but you've made me realise my dream might actually be possible haha
It's slightly irresponsible to post this with no introductions or caveats. Only experienced mountaineers should attempt Mount Blanc and even then a guide is strongly recommended. The mountain is getting more dangerous each year with climate change increasing the chances of avalanches and crevasses. It's about basic respect for the mountain, local economy and yourself. Don't be a cheapstake when it comes to your safety and that of others.
Love ur content bro, hope one day I'll start climbing too and meet you randomly in some random mountain
This is neither Cambridge nor advice. I feel mis-sold.

I was with a couple of friends, no guide for the actual mountains (had a guide for a day for some training with crampons and ice axe)
