Quel cirque.
Holy Cow! Well that was educational! I never realised how madly popular this sport is with so many wings in the air. And landing and take off on the top looked a bit sketchy with quite a few aborted take-offs and a nasty cloud in the distance. What if the conditions changed to hard ice underfoot and you couldn't take off again? Would walking down without proper mountain gear be the only option?
This is my new goal to become a safe paraglider pilot and fly up to that summit. Was that take off from plaine joux? Surely this is ultimate experience we can have?!
Hi, Great day, I was there, but looking at my video, I can't see the iced areas as clear as in your video (nice, but a bit scarry) What camera did you use? What time was it? Thanks
Hello, maybe this day you have film a paragliding accident. my brother is died and and nobody's say excactly what happened; If you have some informations, i'm be happy to converse to you. thank you .
hi, I wanted to ask, how do you agree with other paragliders to fly on the same day ? For top landind on Mont Blanc. Forum or some kind of chat? I also want to do top landing, but I don't know when and with whom.
I had not planned to land on Mont Blanc. We were a group of 6 pilots who were in Chamonix for flight. The plan for the day was to fly around Mont Blanc. When we got to the back side, we realized that the cloud base was high and that top landing was possible. Only then did two of us decide to top land. After that day, it is forbidden to land on top of Mont Blans.
No planning! Just had a look to the weather forecast few days before...and it did look like a good day for Chamonix. In my case, we were 3 pilots, planning for a "Chamonix-Annecy" cross. Once arrived at TO, we were surprised by the number of pilots "parawaiting" (confirmation that, probably, we were in the right spot at the right moment). Once up in the air, it became obvious that the "new" task would have been Mont Blanc!
Bravisimoo? Sorry, this was absolutely insane. As you can see in 3:35 the landing is in a very steep area, the wing starts to slip down immediately. A moment of loosing balance and you would have been some hundred meters lower ... and the guy who was trapped by your wing with you. You are playing with your life, put others in danger and put paragliding in the wrong spot light. To post this in public is not a good idea.
I have to admit, after seeing the video, that it could have been risky. I've landed closer to the summit and a bit more to the "right" and was much better (and I didn't consider it dangerous). Takeoff was normal (just forward, due to the lack of wind), but I saw (in this video) that some of the pilots did struggle a bit. I can understand why some people were/are concern about safety (didn't look that bad back then...).
I just see a bunch of idiots who misrespect rules, with no climbing gear, with not the necessary skills to master this situation...Glad that you survived that day...but for which price???
I took off from that exact spot when i visited Chamonix in 2017. Good memory! Great pilot.
awesome video, that landing made me laugh !

3:30 landing ... stay save and have FUN !!!
Wow that was incredible!!!
Galet fint, grymt!
Maybe a camera angle thing but the ice slope of your top landing looked alarmingly steep and slippery
Thought the same, and the thought of sliding whilst tangled in my lines scares me to the core 😱

Hey! I've seen your movie several times before :) Nice. I used GoPro 7. www.paralogg.se/map/0F642023
How often do conditions allow this?
Amazing!
Great ;)

@@micinvit looks like some people were taking off with wind from behind?
@@quoth_raven Non much wind on the summit, very marginal. But, still, something to consider...

You top landed on top of another paraglider. Wtf
