Hi Charles ! I am a brother from France ! Thank u to learn us cuban boxing. I rec all videos, and work them each day. It is so hard to find a master of cuban style, so thank u again. Long life to your channel.
Top stuff, as always. Left hook (check)followed by the right one looks really solid. For me, the added value of this video lies in presenting variations of exiting close range after performing an attack. I would be over the moon if you could dedicate one of your videos to this matter. Saludos desde Polonia, maestro!
Sir your technique is absolutely beautiful. Is a pleasure to the eyes. Thank you very much for these great videos. I have two requests please, if you could be so kind sir. One is a video on the uppercut, lead and rear. The other is for short guys (I am a short guy 🙂) on ways to go inside taller opponents. Thank you in advance! 🥊❤️
Друг,ты супер!!!Привет из заснеженной Сибири!!!Ты просто охуенный Человек и Спортсмен!!!У тебя мощная харизма и техника!!!Благодарю и желаю всего наилучшего!!!👌🙏🤝👊
Thank you so much! My boxing coach is a huge fan of soviet and cuban boxing school. I really love the sophisticated footwork, especially the usage of things that are considered "bad form" in other boxing schools, like the step over past parallel with the front foot at 6:44 Of course it can be dangerous, but it also gives you great mobility. Not only for the head movements, but you can rapidly change direction and rotate counterclockwise, which is clumsy and awkward from orthodox stance. Thank you! And and of course as a short stocky type I would like to wish something like "Top mistakes short stocky fighters do when trying to get to the inside"
Will thats good insight right there... one boxer's preference is another's dislike and thus styles make fights! That is a good idea for a video as short fighters do carry the distance disadvantage and need to constantly perfect their range and timing
Good Vid. I'd like to see a vid covering Guillermo Rigondeaux's favorite tricks. He's my favorite cuban boxer. Id like to see a demo of tricks like his pawing jab rehearsed punch feints ,counter left hands and left uppercut to the liver and the reverse 1-2 like the slashing jab that he knocked down Marroquin with etc.
You got great footwork man. This Cuban style R. Hook looks a lot like an overhand right. I’d love to see a Cuban overhand right. I like the Cuban style hook punches. The angles look smooth. I’ve been using the Cuban lead hook and catching my sparring partners off by surprise. 😂😂😂 Now, they’re are starting to do it as well.
Just like the lead hand uppercut, you move off the line to the left when you throw the overhand right. Hahaha this is always the case when you introduce something new... well done!
Уважаемый автор, здравствуйте))) Скажите пожалуйста, а Вы можете сделать видео по движениям ног кубинских боксеров. Особенно интересно "шаг за шаг". С огромным к Вам уважением. (Dear author, hello))) Please tell me, can you make a video on the movements of the legs of Cuban boxers? Especially interesting is "step by step". With great respect to you.)
One question: I am right handed but I feel much better throwing left hooks and jabs than right shots in general, I use a right handed guard. Why is it so? I started boxing not so much time ago
It's your stronger hand and of course you want to use it for the punch you throw more... but it is common for right handed boxers to use this punch for when they want to throw the heavy backhand punch with it
question: isn't this at 1:59 to 2:01 a little bit too much for the left side hip? Cause I don't know if the rotation can still reach enough to the left and I secondly am afraid to get hip or knee injuries.
@@Charlessalbox Hahahaha. Love the fact that you teach Cuban and Soviet olympic boxing on RUclips, it's definitely new opposed to all the other channels that are teaching more of a flat footed professional ranks style. Quick question tho, do you know where I can get any of the Cuban boxing attire like the ones that you got on? Thanks!
@@Charlessalbox everybody can punch while moving forward. It takes really skill to be comfortable punching hard while moving backwards and avoiding punches. Controlling an aggressive opponent and leading them into an attack on purpose is a lost art. Hitting your opponent while not getting hit is real boxing.
Nice video thank you very much Whats the differnce between hook thumb faceing upwards or sidewards or downwards does it make a different impackt? Do you give online boxing classes?
The thumb facing downwards increases the chance of landing all the knuckles upon impact, more of an Olympic style punch. Hardest to throw as the shoulder requires most socket rotation to raise the elbow for the right trajectory. The thumb facing sideways increases the pressure upon a small incident focal point and therefore penetrates more. Has a greater range to the thumb facing up. Requires the second level of difficulty as the shoulder rotates more than the thumb facing up and less than the thumb facing down. The thumb facing up has the greatest surface area and is the easiest to throw as little to no rotation is required. It carries the best blunt force so really good for penetrating the body.
Your movement is so smooth. Once you master the fundamentals, it is fun to add the flare! These moves are so slick! Thank you for breaking them down and sharing them! 💥💪🏼
