Hi everyone! Update regarding pre-orders: make sure that you are subscribed to my newsletter ;-) Here is the link to register: www.justineleconte.com/newsletter 😊 There has been a change in the E.U. law on May 25th, so if you haven't reconfirmed your registration at that moment, your e-mail has been automatically erased - see explanations in the video description. I hope you enjoyed this video & I wish you a WONDERFUL Sunday ☕🥐
I think you could really use a Project Manager who can take on a lot of these problem solving issues for you. They would hopefully be educated/experienced to deal with other companies, vendors, and those who think it is in their best interest to send you the orders wrong (even though they are just costing themselves more money for no good reason).
Justine I love your clear explanation about the process. But im wondering about all the financials in running a fashion start up. Could you do a video on the finances? Also how you found the right people/factories to work with would be an interesting insight, bizou !
This process is so interesting! It really opens your eyes to the whole process a new designer must go through. Your one comment I read and truly agree with is how frustrating it is that not everyone gives 100%. This happens in so many professions!! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Every teen dreaming about becoming a fashion designer should watch this...because that’s what it’s like in real life! I would also like to add, that I really enjoyed the fact, that you just used a perfectly normal cup and water kettle to make your tea...not something ‚special‘ and pretentious, like most RUclipsr‘s. Sometimes a cup of tea is just a cup tea. Like for, you know, ‚real‘ people 🙃
It just worries me that so many people boil water in plastic. You end up with so much hormonal disrupters in your cuppa. Genially caring for people’s health❤️
Justiiine you're back :) I could tell by your "disappearing", that you were dealing with issues... I can understand the frustration of a creative person, while dealing with business world! take care and have a good Sunday :)
So glad to see you post, I was worried....Your videos are so inspirational and always relevant to watch. Wishing you all the strength to persevere and continue to go after your dream. I can't wait to see your finished product. You have all of us behind you. Love from the US
Justine, I think what I love most about your videos is your vulnerability, to exploit the dark and light of the fashion world and to illuminate the struggles for a small designer wanting to create garments with integrity. You have completely changed the way I look at my clothes. Thank you for your honesty, humor and your commitment!
It does seem as if the world has become sloppier, more slap-dash, that STANDARDS have fallen tremendously with people's obsession with SPEED and 'ease'. SPEED is not everything. QUALITY matters. Justine, "Brava!!" for persevering! We are behind you, supporting (and, yes!, loving) you. Your equilibrium is so impressive. I know you probably don't FEEL that way... but ME, I would have murdered someone by now (in your shoes). I also think that it isn't ONLY because you are a small fashion house/designer... I see that everywhere now people make big messes of things in their trying to get more done than is reasonably possible.
Please do more of these videos, Justine! It reminds me that we all have challenges in life and what matters is your attitude, strategy, and most of all, determination. Very real and truly inspiring! Thank you! It’s a perfect way to start my week with.
Wow! This is an amazing eye opening series. I honestly had NO idea the process was so intricate. I wish you all the best and I'm looking forward to being able to shop!
Justine!!!! You're back! Yeeeeeeyyy!!!! A few of my thoughts on the labels, before I continue watching. I love them to be in places where they won't be annoying and scratch the skin. I would prefer them not to fade in the washes over time, I like them to be good quality, it reflects the brand and the quality of the garment. This last is something nice have noticed on my Mum's clothes I was going through them after her death, and I massively appreciated it. I enjoy a few chosen pieces that are old and I have decided to keep. I like how the labels on my hubby's shirts are sometimes sewn into the bottom 'strip'(??) where his buttons are...I hope that makes sense. They are out of the way, easy to 'consult' and will not chafe. Also a good labeo is yet another sign of a good quality, and I get really happy looking at some good labels of some higher quality garments. Also, love the skirt and material and the jumper you're wearing. Ok, back to watching now 😄
Well said!!. I grew up with quick fashion & now that i am older (in my 30's 😃😒) ...I really appreciate when even little things on clothes are done properly...'Justine style'😁. Thank you for paying attention to the details Justine. And I really appreciate your unpretentiousness in this space especially!
You make me feel better because it takes me forever for me to do this just to put on my own back. I have changed a lot since the last big turnover. I no longer work, live in a smaller town and I've lost weight. I have also changed shape because I am now old. I did not have the fitting problems in my 70's that I am in this decade. Such is the fun of wardrobe planning.
O my goodness....what a complicated and detail chasing process. I had no idea of how the chain of supply works and I can only commend your patience in dealing with all those difficult issues. The ideas and concepts around Project Racine are inspiring...can't wait for the photo shoot. Well done on all your hard work and creativity in bringing this project to fruition...talented lady!
I'm loving seeing it all come together - it must be so frustrating though to have all those difficulties dealing with other people! I can't wait to see the collection!
Justine-I have to say you are so inspiring! The detail, the persistence to see your vision. I wish a traditional TV channel would pick you up to help finance this project along. I am hooked!
Dearest Justine, greetings from Johannesburg South Africa. Very professional work, I am truly impressed. I would consider it a privilege to wear one of your garments. I would wait for as long as it takes. You've got this. I wish you all the very best. 💖
Oh, girl, it seems to be a very hard, tiring process, I wish you all the strength and luck to you and perfectionst, understanding people to work with! But still I enjoy watching these episodes very much! Keep up your excellent work and never lose your passion and devotion! 👍🏻❤️👌🏻🙏🤗😘
Ohh, the dress looks fantastic, looked very comfy to wear :D. The end of the video made me feel like a child waiting impatiently for the next episode of their favorite show on tv! xD Awesome job, Justine!
Merci, Justine! Lovely to have you back on RUclips. Missed you! This video is a fascinating look at a small part of what goes into producing a garment. I appreciate your attention to meticulous details. Even your labels are beautiful (LOVE that you pushed back & made them redo those embroidered labels so that the back looks proper). The turtleneck you gave us a glimpse of is stunning, & the forest inspiration is full of possibilities. (When I saw the title Racine project, I thought it was a reference to the writer & wondered how you’d convey his ideas in design!) The timeline you’ve decided on-designing, then purchasing fabric, then a preorder phase, then production-sounds quite practical. I’m excited about that teal & black color combo & looking forward to seeing the collection whenever you’re ready to show us.
Thank you for sharing this! I see creativity, expertise, detailed focus, passion, care and determination. These are traits to inspire us all. It seems like there is an untapped niche for a production company and supplier that truly serves small and new designers. I hope someone steps into that!
Justine! So happy to have you back! I was thinking you must be fabric deep in something. I am surprised that a company would be so lais-sez-faire about the size of their clients and not treat them as equals! I am so looking forward to your next video and I am very impressed with this one. You're amazing and you will make it in the world of fashion! Keep doing what you're doing!!
As long as you aren't selling a pull over turtleneck sweater in the spring /summer when it's already warm . Not everyone lives in Berlin , where we live its over 85 by April . Good luck ! Liked the jewelry .
I had no idea how complicated and difficult things were for a small designer and I now understand the high price tag. Thank you for sharing this with us. Looking forward to seeing the entire collection and saving some $ to spend 😀
Wow! Just wow... Thank you so much for this great video, Justine! What an amazing and exhaustive process, thank you for sharing it with us, it is fascinating to see. And sadly, you're not alone in the emails and instructions pain. As people with great attention to detail, we are in minority, so it's very annoying and frustrating when we put a lot of thought, time and effort into saying it all clearly and then someone interprets it freely/loosely or just can't be bothered to RTFE... Great to see the knitwear included, as you haven't shown it before, the colours are gorgeous, and I love the little detail on the collar! 💖💖
Justine, I’m so excited for you. Your collection so far, looks fabulous. I would like to throw my 2cents worth of opinion on the labels. I’m so glad you have better quality labels and PLEASE do not sew them in with plastic thread, it itches so badly, I cut them out. Also maybe put them on a side seam or bottom of a top. I just can’t wait for the next step in your videos. I know this is such hard work but you are such a strong, intelligent woman that will have no problem dealing with inconsistencies. Good luck ma chere.
Missed you, Justine! Now I get to sip my Sunday coffee while watching your video. 😘 Just finished it...You are very tenacious in an incredibly graceful way. One of my favorite sayings is: you can go on long after you can't. We admire you and are rooting for you!!! xxx
Wow. I have so much respect for you Justine👏 It’s such a challenging business and there are masses of details to get right. 😫 I feel like I’ve had a look into a secret world that most people don’t even know about!
I'm so glad you're willing to share your feelings and experience with us Justine. Hope you can clear up your mind and find a bit of peace during the filming process ♥️ I'm sure all the hard work will pay off at the end. Also, love that tea leaves pouch+spoon utensil!
Dear Justine, I really hope you still have strength left, and I am really looking forward to this collection. After over a year of not buying any clothes (save for some second hand ones), I really look what I am buying and what to spend money on and I really want to buy something from you in the new year. If you wait for such a garment it makes it so much more valuable, dont you think? I wish you a merry christmas, time to relax, to spend with your family and to calm down a little before starting with the stressfulness of this project again. All the best und frohe Weihnachten!
Hi Justine, I am a technical designer, so I can feel your pain!!!! No wonder you have been missing for several weeks. So glad you are back. Don't worry, everything will come out right in the end. Can't wait to pre-order:)
It's so amazing to see your collection come to life Justine!! The business aspects of art must get frustrating at times; I think most artists would rather focus their energies on creating. You inspire me! I can't wait to see your collection. Wishing you the very best from Toronto, Canada.
You are really great to teach us and watch your process. I adore your videos.they are my favorite. You will be a great success. Wishing the best for your new collection.
Thank You!! Justine, for showing this side of fashion it is really interesting to see what it takes to come up with a collection "The devil is in the details".
Waou! Ton travail est super! Tu m as tellement inspirée et motivée a entreprendre des choses. Continue a faire ce que tu fais, tu es tout simplement géniale! Merci!
Hi Justine! Missed you and now I see why. This is so complicated and frustrating for you, and very informative for us! Wishing you a wonderful holiday time. Take a breath and enjoy yourself! You are an inspiration!
Wow, that's a lot of work Justine! But so great and rewarding to see the progress so I'm sure the result will be worth it anyway :) The fashion and apparel industry seems to make things too complicated especially for smaller brands which is sad because it hinders diversity and limits customer's choices. Cheering you on and looking forward to seeing the finished collection!
Do not understand why so many mistakes were made in the process so far. Can there be such a great incidence of incompetence in this discipline? It was vexing to hear about the roadblocks thrown in your path; I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to experience them. I admire your persistence and stick-to-itness! TFP : )
Congratulations Justine, thanks for sharing all your acknowledge, plans, goals and thoughts with us. I have missed your videos, keep us updated on the progress of your line. 👌🏼
So interesting to see the story behind the whole process. Please continue doing your thing Justine! I believe in you! As the Germans would say: Lass dich von kleinen Hürden nicht unterbringen 🙂 have a good Day! Greetings, Viktoria
You are so adorable! Good luck with your new collection! Let us know when it will be out so we can buy your beautiful pieces! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
I had never even thought to think about a tenth of the things you are dealing with in this process!! (the label stitching?! Goodness!) Amazing work! Looking forward to seeing more :)
Hello Justine, Thanks for the update. Keep up the good work. I am learning so much on how to be an entrepreneur. I will send you positive thoughts from across the pond. Take care and lots of chamomile tea. I am looking forward to the photo shoot. Kathy
WOW ! SO MUCH WORK !! I am very happy to see that you've made it through. Keep going !! Please make the black and turquoise turtleneck dress !! I'll buy it !!
Of coarse it's worth it! And you know what to do. I hate to see you internalize or take these problems personally. They do make it difficult but you will make it happen! You're doing great. xxx
I am whole in! As soon as you said the word "roots" I know you've tapped right into what is timely and now... No matter how long the wait, I must have some of your garments. Bravo! Keep creating!
I am LOVING this series! Thank you, Justine, for sharing your creative process with us. You and I make tea the exact same way also, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
It's crazy, sometimes it's a mess, it gets confused with so many people working on the same idea so that idea becomes real, it takes so much time and stress, but I love it. I don't think I would ever change it for another career. I love working in the fashion industry. I'm admiring your collection videos! I like the fact that you shared everything, because so many people don't know how their clothes are made, and how much work it demands. You are so professional and give so much attention to the details, I love it!
Hi Justine,I m new on your channel, I found you by coincidence and a m really happy about it!!You re so sweet and kind and very professional too!!I d like to wish you good luck with your project!!Love!!
oooh, I am very excited for the new collection, Justine! The little preview looks so good! I have already stashed away some money for my pre-orders. I'm happy to wait for my order, I trust you.
There is a city near me in Wisconsin named Racine and I had no idea it was French. The area is mostly German and Irish, and most of the surrounding city names are Native American so I never would have guessed that. Intersting!
New episode yayyy!! Although I work in a completely different industry but I do reasonate with the frustration that thing could go wrong in a thousand ways for a project but when the products are launched, or in my case the project result is delivered, it’s all worth it! Your videos truly shed light on the enormous amount of thoughts and efforts a good garment maker puts into the design, production, marketing etc. As a customer I pay more and more attention to these details not only because they make subtle but huge different to how the product looks, but also because the sheer belief in this craftmanship. Sending lots of love and look forward to your products and next episode!
I discovered you recently and I'm pretty sure that you will be a big star in a few years . It's a wonderful job that you are doing. Greetings from Heidelberg.
Much power to you Justine! I am so inspired, seeing you pour all your heart into it and doing your work with such dedication and not compromising on the quality, design, concept or anything. Kudos to you! And I wish you all the best! (Wish i could afford your products too. Maybe one day I will) Until then, keep up the work! To me you're the best designer in the world- creating such amazing stuff, which is so well thought out, high quality and ethical! Lots and lots and looottttss of love to you Justine! ❤🤗

From an ex fashion executive........yes, order fabric first......your style will translate !
It's unfortunate you don't have sizes smaller than an s. The Aqua t-shirt is quite pretty. But guess I'm too skinny.
Justine Leconte officiel Would love your business advice sometime in a video
Justine I love your clear explanation about the process. But im wondering about all the financials in running a fashion start up. Could you do a video on the finances? Also how you found the right people/factories to work with would be an interesting insight, bizou !
“Of course it has to be perfect on both sides!” .... 200% agree with you Justine! You pay, you get what you want, period!
This process is so interesting! It really opens your eyes to the whole process a new designer must go through. Your one comment I read and truly agree with is how frustrating it is that not everyone gives 100%. This happens in so many professions!! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Can't wait to see the collection ready for purchase! Congratulations on the hard and ethical work!
Like for, you know, ‚real‘ people 🙃
And there's nothing like a real cuppa ☕
It just worries me that so many people boil water in plastic. You end up with so much hormonal disrupters in your cuppa. Genially caring for people’s health❤️
@J .S good to know. I was thinking about the electric kettle. Thank you for the info though.
Totally second your comment!
Also should have to see the financial aspect of it
Justiiine you're back :) I could tell by your "disappearing", that you were dealing with issues...
Love from the US
I admire how perfectionist and professional you are :)
Thank you 💙
Justine, I think what I love most about your videos is your vulnerability, to exploit the dark and light of the fashion world and to illuminate the struggles for a small designer wanting to create garments with integrity. You have completely changed the way I look at my clothes. Thank you for your honesty, humor and your commitment!
Very interesting to watch. So many little steps to get what the end results. Thank you for sharing.
You are determined inventive compassion and watching you here is amazing to see the beginnings of your fashion line...thank you for sharing
Justine you are special. A perfectionist through and through! I would wait for your designer garments for however long it takes.
Love your videos 🌺
That truly is quite frustrating Justine. I didnt realize how difficult the production side is. I appreciate your effort Justine to your brand
Thank you for making me feel wholeheartedly fuzzy inside. You make me so happy and encourage me to be the best that I can be. Love from New Zealand.
Ok, back to watching now 😄
I agree about the labels. Most of the time I cut them out because they annoying and scratchy!
You're so brave with your venture, Justine. Keep on moving, you're there already! All the best.
I wish 😁
@@justineleconte ah, be careful what you wish for! A traditional tv channel might drive you bonkers
I loved that you have done this who process like a documentary. Very interesting.
Dearest Justine, greetings from Johannesburg South Africa. Very professional work, I am truly impressed. I would consider it a privilege to wear one of your garments. I would wait for as long as it takes. You've got this. I wish you all the very best. 💖

So enlightening to see the designer side of the story. Can't wait to see the final steps. That black and green garnement looks so good.

Hello Justine, Thanks for the update. Keep up the good work. I am learning so much on how to be an entrepreneur. I will send you positive thoughts from across the pond. Take care and lots of chamomile tea. I am looking forward to the photo shoot. Kathy
Your work is incredible, I admire you and your work
methodology, absolute outstanding! Love from Brazil
You're doing great. xxx
Hmmm... yes, it's something frustrating because the whole process depends on many different people and not everyone gives 100%. Oh well...
I am fascinated by the behind the scenes aspects of the industry! I had no concept of the complexity. Thank you for showing us, Justine!
Wow. So incredible to see the behind the scenes process. Congratulations on creating this collection!
It’s sure good to see you, Justine. Keep on persevering!
Thank you!

Oh the dress looks amazing... can't wait to see the full collection!
Wonderful work!! I like your sense for details!! 👍🏻
More strength to you..
This is a big task you’re taking on. I support you 100%!! Keep pushing, love ya
Great inside look at the process of designing. I had no idea how much goes into it. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you!
This is incredible! I’m so excited and proud of you!
I discovered you recently and I'm pretty sure that you will be a big star in a few years . It's a wonderful job that you are doing. Greetings from Heidelberg.
The sweater dress and the blouse are beautiful pieces
