La Grange may have the weirdest drivers in the known universe, but their dinosaurs are top-notch! Wait--maybe there's a connection...That was quite the fandango in Arvada--and thanks for showing a couple of the Perseids; they are the prettiest meteors of the year and it was cloudy here so I didn't get to see any first-hand. The one in Austell was stellar--pun intended! Plus it's always fun to see the Golden Swoosh and a good MOW parade. Another great one!

There is the occasional rail-fan video from Brockville, Ontario, and there used to be a camera in Revelstoke BC, but I haven't seen any footage from there lately. Maybe they are waiting for the bears to reappear?

Billy Minor was a famous train robber, and the pub is right next to the CPKC main line tracks. But they only run in nanaimo and not all the way to Victoria because the tracks are in horrible condition and the Canadian government will not step up and help bring this railway back to its former glory. You should come to my neighborhood, we have 🚂 that goes past the hospital and there’s an old trusses bridge that they still use. We have turned a portion of one of the train bridges into a crosswalk that attaches to the greenway walking trail. It’s a good way to keep us safe and healthy. I see you go to La Grange, Ky. There’s another great place in Kentucky called Glendale that has a train track that runs through there and it’s got a restaurant called the Wistle Stop and they have yummy food, especially the fried green tomatoes.

On Friday August 16th 2024 NBSR was honored with the visit of the CSX Geotrain which traveled from the border to Saint John New Brunswick and around the city trackage operated by NBSR..
All are diesel powered. Various drive systems such as chain drive, shaft drive or hydraulic drive. Some of the bigger machines may have diesel/electric drive, but I have not seen one yet. Maintenance trains like the rail grinders and ballast cleaners usually have a locomotive style diesel/electric drive.
Hey, how come you didn’t freeze frame those NW 2 bay covered hoppers? Those motive power moves remind me of the first time I ever saw that. West side of Glenview, Illinois on C&NW main (that the Milw Road also used). Would see all kinds of locos but no train. Didn’t know what was going on at the time but learned about it from one of the RR mags. Does anyone know what the weight of those bridge sections were? One heck of a crane for that work.

Nice video, but the scene where the bridge is being taken down in the name of the video "Child's Play" are you referring to like a child playing with a toy bridge or are you referring to the movie?
It refers to how children when playing make complex things seem simple, like moving a toy truck up steps or an toy airplane flying thru a bush. Speeded up, the bridge's deconstruction goes so easily. It might not have been the best choice of words, but we do like to make folks inquisitive.
