Great info. Yes one of the solution is to build subways, MRT, LRT, BRT, HSR and moving the Capital to Nusantara, Eaat Kalimantan. The airport is extended now adding another terminal ( Soetta 4 ). and alternative airport at Kertajati . Another megaport ( Patimban), West Java is under construction to take over Tanjung Priok . There is already a.massive push now to.reduce the fuel.subsidies and encourage to use E cars, E bikea, E trucks.and E buses. With USD 5 Billion per year losses due to fuel and poluttion. We can afford this kind of clean and electric based transportation.

so this is about greater jakarta. consists of jakarta, bogor-depok-bekasi (west java), and tangerang (banten). bcoz jakarta itself only 10 mill population in 670km².
If all residents from Jabodetabek / Greater Jakarta are put together, the number is 35 million people ( 10% Population of Indonesia ).....
This number can even be equivalent to the Kanto / Greater Tokyo with a population of 42 million people...... 👀
So it's no wonder why Jabodetabek is ASEAN's Tokyo!

Try to avoid traffic light & roundabout in jakarta if it's possible to do so, otherwise you'll be stucked in traffic congestion.

When you talk about jakarta's traffic problems? There are "3 MAIN" variables:
(1). Too many peoples (over populated)
(2). Too many vehicles (cars & motorbikes) coused by too many leasing corporations & too many proposals they approved with low terms and conditions.
(3). There are still very much peoples and politicians want to hold and continue the govt fuels subsidy (short terms populist politicians).
That are the main.!!

Contonueing the Govt fuel subsidy has always be politicized to grab mass popularity by politicians. And middle to lower economic citizens always never be the most absorber of the govt fuel subsidy usefullness, but they like it so much. (!!??) 😅😂

The funny thing was that Jakarta won STA in 2021. Without understanding what was STA all about, their netizens and Jakarta residents were very proud of it and boosted that Jakarta transportation system was the best in South East Asia .

as a commuter who live in suburb area of jakarta, i'm proud with the improvement of the city. not because it's the best, but how the city is finally on the right track. the public transportation systems are integrated now and its development is finally not car-oriented anymore and the revitalization of wide pedestrian way are everywhere in the city.
