    She was so mature for her age. It's a quality she has maintained throughout her career. So composed, professional, and not to mention beautiful!

    It's cool to see that she's always had the same personality. Just a genuine and thoughtful person.

    Alanis admits in an interview that statutory rape did happen. She says she is going to reveal more in her upcoming memoir. I assume Leslie Howe might be involved as in one of her videos there is a dude with very similar hair that he had at that time..She also worked with a guy named Frank 'FISH' Levin ..and in one of Alanis' songs..the lyric goes...YOUR SHAKE IS LIKE A 'FISH' . YOU PAT ME ON THE HEAD. YOU TOOK ME OUT TO WINE DINE 69 ME BUT DIDN'T HEAR A DAMN WORD I SAID.. So this always made me wonder if there is something to this, or nothing at all...she was surroundedby grown men..working with them all hours of the late night, drinking was involved, she was an admitted pleaser...so I can only imagine what Alanis endured at such a young age...Her songs says alot..even her second album NOW IS THE TIME has some really amazing lyrics in it...She was going off to Paris./ LA with grown men and she was just a kid. I am guy and my parents would not let me do jack shit or go anywhere when I was a teen....makes you wonder..

    Must have been pretty damn scary to listen to this little princess singing things like "An older version of me/is she perverted like me/Would she go down on you in theater?" years later. I love this woman!

    As interesting as this is to watch on its own merit, it becomes a lot more fascinating every time one of the old geezers appears on camera and your brain starts shouting at itself, saying "Is that the pervert who raped her?" Really, how she could carry on to JLP after all this mess is mind-boggling. Props 'lani'.

    Despite all the issues, alot of credit still goes to Leslie Howe for helping launch Alanis’ musical career.

    Holy smokes, I'm more excited about the fact that I got to put a face with the voice of Robert W Knight from the Energy1200 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That voice is a staple from my childhood of the late 80's/early 90's. I never would have though that's what he looked like!

    This critiscism is almost 20 years late, buddy. And take the albums out of print was probably the record label thing trying to disassociate her from that image for obvious reasons.

    As a non-Canadian, I first knew Alanis as an alternative rock musician and through Jagged Little Pill.
    But honestly even if I highly appreciate her music, I did not find her externally or physically that attractive.
    But when I found out about this and her previous career, she looked much more attractive and “hot”.
    And she did made good pop music back then but unfortunately, her career and promotion back then was domestic and not released outside of Canada.

    She is the biggest Robin Sparkles rip-off. Someone call Alan Thicke, this has to be stopped. Alanis clearly watched how I met your mother, stole the idea for this pop star persona, found the DeLorean in Doc's garage because they had more than one real life time machine for the movie, then Alanis went back to 1991 to conquer the malls of Canada, having stolen the whole idea from a handful of how I met your mother episodes. Wow...this runs deeper than we realize. Bowie and Queen did that same thing to vanilla ice, sting did it to Diddy. Shady business. Time travel in the music industry is real. This proves it entirely along the previous artists being victims of time machine musical theft.

    Alanis was amazingly hot back then. After JLP was released she just wasn't as alluring anymore. It can't simply be the hair, or makeup, or even age. She had thicker eyebrows back then; could that be it? Plucking her eyebrows more may have had the effect of making her face look out of proportion.

    The problem with Alanis is the manner in which she changed her style. She changed her name, she refused to talk about her first two albums in interviews, she had them taken out of print. She basically tried to convince everyone (mostly Americans not familiar with her first two Albums) that "Alanis" never existed...because she thought people wouldn't buy Jagged Little Pill. Dishonesty to make money reveals that her "soul" was no better, and probably worse than before.

    • @EE-cg8cg
      @EE-cg8cg 2 года назад

      She didn’t change her name, she was honest about her past. Listen to the interviews. She just grew up and her style changed!

  • @GreggJulian
    @GreggJulian 12 лет назад

    And her current style is basically the same style from 1994, which is still commercially and critically viable. So no need for a further transformation. I actually like a lot of her present music, but I also happen to like the "commercial" stuff that she so ungraciously trashed on her way to the top. I think people are too closed minded about different music styles today generally. I'm the Anti-Hipster.

  • @GreggJulian
    @GreggJulian 12 лет назад

    C'mon people, Alanis just changed her style to fit the trends. When the music changed, she went where the money was. I can't say I blame her, but this "soul searching" transformation stuff is just phony.

    Alanis: Cookie cutter bubble gum pop, moved to slurring grunge garbage to Alanis WHO??? Never liked her never will. You couldn't do that on television and you couldn't do that on radio either . Then again auto tune can make a singer out of anybody, give it a shot.
