watching this I realized we spent an entire decade (90s) watching jittery camera work and jump cut editing because the subject matter was so frickin’ boring. Now I feel overstimulated like a cat in a room full of feathers.
Her building is low key, has about 40 condos total and the owners of the units are mostly rich people over 60 and retired. The door man is like the one on Seinfeld and has the best job. In her early 30s she was the youngest owner there , with the funkiest place ever. I ve been in there and seen the condo wow it is so cool. You wouldnt think you were in a building but in an exotic house by the sea. Alanis sold it a few years back and is in LA most of the time now. A lot of her neighbors barely knew who she was as they were all Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow era fans. I m sure that s why she bought the place. 2:36 - she put in a lil bambo to SPRUCE the place up!!
When you were growing up, there were two kinds of houses: ones where you had to take your shoes off before entered and ones where you didn't. I grew up in the later. Alanis' home is the epitome of the former.
Which is kind of ironic (don'cha think?) because judging from the contents of the fridge and the cabinet, she apparently has little to no cooking skills.
Vegemite is the best! As an Australian, I know why everybody else hates it! You’re not meant to slather it on like peanut butter. You only need a small bit and spread it wide! Delicious. Interesting fact: the yeast used in the making of the stuff comes from the beer brewery down the road. Rather than throw the used yeast away, they give it to Kraft. Everybody wins!
