My love for Cheyenne just grew exponentially after this interview. He lay himself bare and shared his amazing journey. And despite his success he's so humble and just so sweet. Also, this episode just proved why Mayim is a queen in the LGBTQA+ community with the way she defended Cheyenne about playing the role of Max. Another wonderful episode, thank you Mayim and Jonathan 💕
"Mayim Bialik's Breakdown" is awesome. I know "Call Me Cat" is wonderful but "Mayim Bialik's Breakdown" is equally critical! However, "Mayim Bialik's Breakdown" needs to be expanded and simulcast on Bravo or mainstream (with a TV rating of PG-14 or Mature) So that the conversation can maintain its richness and continue to be filled with depth and bypass the "false television sheen dance" This experience and level of expertise needs a full (daily or at the very least weekly) exposure to a mass audience somewhere. Because, it is so honest and engaging and filled with depth. (No Disrespect) Mayim is the Doctor that Doctor Phil McGraw wishes he could fulfill the perspective of on television. She is genuine without bombast or snark; nor is she passive aggressive with an overarching sense of look at my knowledge base; none of that. Instead, she looks at the truth, beauty, and the honor in each individual circumstance and life story. Please generally consider this suggestion, I hope it happens. Thanks - John Collins
I saw My Fair Lady on Broadway when I was 10. I was a little country girl from Virginia. I remember getting goosebumps when the overture started to play and was completely mesmerized by this amazing performance. I refused to get out of my seat during intermission for fear someone would take it. Many years later, I lived in Manhattan and had ready access to all things creative. But I never reacted to another performance like I did to that first experience.

Just catching up here. Interesting to see that I'm not the only one whose mind went to food to relate to Jackson's description of the obsession of the alcoholic. It is hard for me to eat and socialize because I am obsessed like that with the food. "Why aren't they eating that? How do they just carry on a conversation like there's not food sitting there?" I have to have rules about food. Clearing the table is helpful.

What an incredible chat with Cheyenne. He was so open and honest. On the ADHD discussion, I was diagnosed at 50. A lot of times, women aren’t diagnosed because they don’t present with the hyperactivity aspect of ADHD. My counsellor used the glasses example when explaining how medication can work for some people - that all of a sudden they see the world more clearly. Also, many people who are diagnosed as adults have developed their own coping mechanisms. I totally get the overwhelm of too much busyness and noise. My non-ADHD friends don’t get it, but it can be a lot. It’s good to see that people are talking about adult diagnosis and about medications being okay (there are many different kinds - not everything works for everyone). There are SO many co-morbidities with ADHD, as well as there being such a wide variety of symptoms, no wonder it’s difficult to diagnose. And there isn’t a ‘medical test’ you can take that will provide a conclusive answer. This was the first of your podcasts I’ve listened to. Can’t wait to check them all out! Thanks for being you! I found this show yesterday April 25th and I have already watched three interviews, love the format of the show and how Mayim is using her talents as a scientist and an actor. I watched Sofia with an F, Leslie Jordan and now this one. Its great to know that we see faces but with don't know life stories.
Hello Mayim and Johnathan. I don't want to slight, Johnathan. You are both great together and look forward to the next RUclips release. I am a Stroke Warrior not out 5 years, so I'm still in the 5-year window. I would love for you to do an show on the mental difficulties for the family, friends, and Warrior. Warriors have many mental challenges during and after their new normal. Keep up the good work. Mental health is just as important as physical health.
I watched the first episode for Mayim and Swoozie but the Phil character steals the show! I've liked this actor evertime I've found him in a show but, sadly, always forget the actor's name.
I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and took meds; I was amazed on how other people see the world. I was able to get so much more work done. I stopped taking it when my new insurance caused my copay to be utterly ridiculous.
I just love Breakdown, I look forward each week for the notification that it is uploaded. Mayim is such a warm interesting person and has interesting people with education as well.
I found this podcast a few days ago. Goodness. This resonated with me so much. I have been married for 18 years to my husband. An American fundamental Christian who turned his back on the church. We live in London. Met on business when he was here. Obviously. I started drinking a little too much a few years ago. I know this. Need to stop. There is an age gap of 14 years between us. Me being older. However, I am so in love with him and he with me but feel that there is nowhere to go now. I have had 8 days without drinking. Only 8 but it is a start. Here is to many more. Thank you Mayim and Cheyenne.
I LOVE Cheyenne. Have liked him for a while but didn't really know his whole story. But this interview was interesting. What makes Mayim great is her ability to give the guests space to talk. A lot of people who are supposedly good interviewers interrupt, cutoff, talk over, try to make a joke etc.. All of which derail the guests flow. I could have listened to this another hour.
I enjoy this podcast a lot because the guests are so interesting and they are allowed to talk. Mayim doesn't try to talk over them or interrupt with dumb comments. It's a nice conversation to listen to. :)
I will never be able to choose a favorite. All of these are brilliant and helpful and funny. I second all the folks who assert we feel a kinship and want to hang out with Mayim. This podcast is a silver lining of COVID closure.
I loved this episode. While the Wheaton episode moved me because I could relate to much of what was discussed, this episode fascinated me. I love stories and viewpoints from other perspectives. Mr Jackson opened up and shared things that kept me so engrossed I had to pause and finish the episode after work so I could pay attention to the work I was doing.
Again Mayim, bless you for your passion, insight, and wisdom. Cheyenne, so much of what you shared touched me and brought back much of what I went through growing up in the church. The pearl that will stay with me is "You're only as sick as your secrets"...truth. Thank you both.
I had NO idea that Cheyenne was gay! Mayim, as someone who gets overwhelmed at the grocery store, I use a personal shopper. The grocery stores here in Canada also shop for people for $3-$5 and all you need to do is pick it up. Easy and cheap. Love this show, especially the intelligence of the people who make it.
Im starting ADHD medication as an adult this week... thank you for talking about this.... My doctor asked a lot of questions where I found out I'd had put in all these coping mechanisms in to handle something I didn't even know I was doing! So much of what you talked about your experiences with ADD are very similar to mine! Looking at a menu is so overwhelming I always order the same thing or the same thing as someone else cause I can't look at it without feeling overwhelmed!
Another inspiring Mayim Bialik's Breakdown podcast episode ♥ I've learned so much and relate myself in so many ways. Thank you for your openness and inspiring story, Cheyenne! Thumbs up as a reaction is not enough, this podcast and Mayim and Jonathan really deserve love and support to strengthen this platform.
Wow. I went to the same church as your brother for a while. The abuse was crippling for me and I'm just now starting to piece myself together. Thank you for speaking about it. Sometimes it's easy to think it's all in your own head, but knowing it was a shared experience is helpful.
After watching this I just want to give Cheyenne and all the people who experience the same a big hug 🤗 thank you for this Mayim and Jonathan! Hoping for more episodes Plsss ❤️

Tania Webster this program is really keeping me entertained this period of pandemic and I believe am not the only one, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
"You are only as sick as your secrets..." Wow, that made me think about what secrets I am holding, and its given me pause. I credit after-school movies for helping me understand early in my teen years that everyone is dealing with their own difficulties in life, even if you can't see what those are. It helped humanize others, and made me feel that we probably had more in common than they'd care to admit.
I love this interview. I wish tv talk shows talked more serious issues with some light hearted issues. I feel like there is not enough serious questions asked. Cheyenne Jackson is such an inspiration. I love how he doesn't box himself in. He is so humble and grounded. I also love Call Me Kat. I love it because I feel like people can relate to the characters. I know that I can relate to the character of Kat. All the characters are unique and funny in their own special ways. I love all the characters on the show. I have to say, my favorite scene was when Max asked Kat to get a bite to eat with him and Kat says "Let me just go upstairs and change into something nicer." Max asks why and Kat says "Cause I just threw this on for work." What he replied back with, I thought was the best, "Are you comfortable?...Do you care what other people think of you?...Then let's go." I just love that scene.
Love that scene too! I love the show as well and when at the end they wave to the audience to signal that it’s the end of the episode is my favorite. When we see them all pop up from behind the furniture. So unique
Your podcasts are so educational and informative. You have such a great way of helping people understand that we are all unique individuals. Being different and breaking from the mold that society expects everyone to be from is a good thing. Diversity makes us stronger and better together.
As I watch this episode, I am grateful that I've waited to watch it. It has been showing up as a suggested video to watch for about a month now. It so happens that my mom is in town and I refuse to see her because of the abuse that I endured for 29 years of my life from her. My therapist is on board with me not seeing her. The definition Mayim gives of trauma is helpful and in a sense reassuring.
When Cheyenne was talking about when his niece died I could relate my niece was also three years old when she passed away when he's that I was about to break out in tears because I know the pain fight taking care of her since she was one month old 😭
Thank you for baring it all, Cheyenne for being genuine. This episode once again helped me open my eyes to what I may be experiencing in introspection. Thank you, Dr. Mayim. As always, what a great, therapeutic episode. Looking forward for more ✨

The constant listening/ watching and learning to this podcast for six weeks is what keeping me sane. Such a great podcast from great partners in crime! This may too sound demanding but, pleasee don’t stop doing this😭❤️ xoxo
Mayim always makes me feel like I am normal and it’s ok to have super hard ocd, and anxiety. Thank you Mayim for all you do!!!🙏🏼💕🌟. I very much appreciate you!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟
Never compare your insides with other people's outsides. That has helped me so much in my growth.
I found this show yesterday April 25th and I have already watched three interviews, love the format of the show and how Mayim is using her talents as a scientist and an actor. I watched Sofia with an F, Leslie Jordan and now this one. Its great to know that we see faces but with don't know life stories.
I've been listening to the podcast from the very beginning. Now I'm watching on RUclips and enjoying every guest all over again!
I love Call Me Kat! It's a feel-good show that makes me smile, and I can relate. :) I hope it gets renewed for another season!
Thank you!
Cheyenne's beautiful soul really stands out in this discussion with you, Mayim.
I stumbled upon this and have been enthralled for the last hour and half. I truly appreciate the honesty and captivating discussions.
❤️
Love you and everything that you do Mayim ❤️ you inspire me a lot!
Both of you are so unapologetically yourselves. Thank you!!!!!!
Mayim did an amazing job with this interview. You can tell that she and Cheyenne are truly kindred spirits.
What more can I say but thank you Cheyenne. Thank you for being so honest and truthful.
This is a wonderful podcast. Mayim is brilliant, honest, personable, and beautiful. Loving the interviews with great guests!
Brenda Martin this program is really keeping me entertained this period of pandemic and I believe am not the only one, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
I have been impressed with Mayim since Blossom to Big Bang and now Breakdown. This is an amazing and so greatly needed podcast. Thank you Mayim!❤
I first saw her in Beaches and was totally distracted wondering who this kid was and amazed at how much she looked like Bette Midler.
More in love with Cheyenne than I ever was....he hides nothing....awesome. Thanks for this podcast....
Rebe Ruth this program is really keeping me entertained this period of pandemic and I believe am not the only one, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
I limit my content outside of spending time with my children and 📖 and working but I make room for this. Mayim is so refreshing. I know you did this for you- your mental state- but this has been so good for me. I leave these episodes feeling refreshed!! Refreshed?! Running a business, raising three children, working out- I didn’t think this type A could find content that could keep my attention and leave me feeling refreshed. Thank you so much.
I had the very same experience in Surrey, B.C. Canada. I came out at about the same time in my life and felt all the same feelings. We were Christian Centre Academy. Unfortunately, I didn't have Cheyenne's talent or looks. haha. All ended well after I got sober and my parents ended up being my best friends. Thanks Cheyenne.
Mayim and Johnathan you both are awesome, and loved this podcast, and you and Jonathan have such an show and I have just found this podcast. I work with people with Addictions and Mental health and listening is helping to use some of the tools, you have talked about. This podcast is so easy to listen too and so much fun and so much fun to listen too ...
I couldn't stop smiling while watching this ☺️
aww! well now i'm smiling :)
As a massive procrastinator, I finally got around and listened to all the available episodes today! Really love the honest conversations about mental health. I’ve lived with bi-polar depression for a very long time. We need more open dialogue about things that impact mental health. Thanks for using your platform!! 💕💕
My favorite guest so far. Thank you for this.
I used to live in Spokane, when Cheyenne mentioned Dempsey's Brass Rail... brought back a lot of memories! It has since closed -- I think in like 09.
I watched this episode twice on spotify, now I'm here.
Sinara Soeiro this program is really keeping me entertained this period of pandemic and I believe am not the only one, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
@@princehamdanbinmohammedalm3695 I'm from Brazil, the situation is not good. This pandemic triggered a lot of anxiety in my life. Be away from my family is killing me a little bit everyday.
@@geosinara that's very sad and lonely, everything will be fine, you sound very emotional, I will like to chat with you, can you please send me your email?
Loved this session as well! There is so much education that takes place when people share their inner story and are vulnerable. We seem to always forget that everyone has a story. Thank you again.
That's right!!
Virginia Bishop this program is really keeping me entertained this period of pandemic and I believe am not the only one, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
Call Me Kat - wouldn’t miss it and it better be picked up forever‼️Love the podcast/RUclips /and every discussion point.
I have a whole new appreciation for Cheyenne Jackson, mainly because of his mannerism. Wow!
Thanks Mayim for being so perfectly imperfect and
so strong in your fragility.
YOU ARE A TRUE HERO!!! Because you are real.
Love you, your are BADA***
Rafaela Pereira you are right, this episode is really keeping everyone entertained in the period of pandemic, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
I am addicted to this podcast. Wish I could be a guest about bipolar disorder
Hi Mayim!
I just wanted to say I’m a fan of yours from the Philippines :)
Your vulnerability, courage, and intelligence have been comforting to me. The characters you play and the videos you post make me feel like I have a friend I haven’t met.
Thank you for being you. You’re such a gift to the world. 💚
Thank you Mayim and Cheyenne for a fabulous episode!!! Well done!❤
Breakdown is SOOOO GOOD! This is the 3rd episode I have watched. SO Good.
Tuesday turned to my favourite day of the week because of you and your podcast..🙈 thank you for that!!❤️ And keep uploading new episodes 🐱
She is a star but she makes you feel like you could sit down and just talk to her like you have known each other for years. I love these podcasts
Congrats Mayim on your podcasts!!! Each episode is so enlightening and entertaining. Keep up the good work!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think you should do an entire episode on adult ADHD.
Yes, please! I have to get an appointment with my Dr. About this and I haven't gotten around to it yet 👀
@@MariposaRedimida lol and hah!🇨🇦
Great idea!! Yes!!
@@MariposaRedimida HaHa! Procrastination...one of THE hallmarks of ADHD. So you live in "Mariposa"?
This podcast always makes my day and listening to Mayim and Jonathan in the beginning and end is the best. Mayim is always so sweet and appreciative of all her guest stars and it is so amazing to see that. Thank you so much Cheyenne for sharing your story. It makes me so grateful when people share their stories as it helps so much people and not only that but shares light so someone who doesn't go through it can get an understanding which is incredible. Love this podcast and can't wait for next week
Tania Webster this program is really keeping me entertained this period of pandemic and I believe am not the only one, how is the pandemic situation in your country?
Mayim, this podcast (every episode) is very important. Thank you for putting in the time, being brave, and sharing!
United 93 was the first thing I saw him in. I was instantly smitten. This is the first episode of Breakdown I have seen. I am instantly smitten. 💜💜💜
So unique
You hit the nail on the head when talking about how our healthcare (mental healthcare) caters to those of means.
Thank you both for sharing.
Crickey, that man is amazing!
I agree!!!
When Cheyenne was talking about when his niece died I could relate my niece was also three years old when she passed away when he's that I was about to break out in tears because I know the pain fight taking care of her since she was one month old 😭
💕💕💕 what a wonderfully open honest conversation
Thank you for baring it all, Cheyenne for being genuine. This episode once again helped me open my eyes to what I may be experiencing in introspection. Thank you, Dr. Mayim. As always, what a great, therapeutic episode. Looking forward for more ✨
Appreciate this show so much. THANK YOU, MAYIM!
