- Seth Green (Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Austin Powers, Changeland), Mayim’s on-screen boyfriend from their Facts of Life days, stops by to discuss growing up in the entertainment industry alongside Mayim, his experiences with therapy and psychedelics, and why he has always strived to be a good human. He considers why his trajectory turned out so positive compared to other fellow child actors, why he thinks he may have undiagnosed ADHD, and how the condition has helped him in his life. Seth opens up about his experimentation with psychedelics in conjunction with mindfulness and research, how it taught him to detach from his ego and express his emotions, and the possible dangers of hallucinogens. He shares how therapy taught him to forgive his parents, why the search for the right therapist can be so frustrating, and the things that are currently on his self-improvement list. Seth discusses his relationship with marijuana and Mayim breaks down how cannabis can help with sleep-related issues.

Thank you for having Seth Green today. It was an awesome interview.
It is so cool that you have Seth Green on today's episode. You are doing such a great job with this podcast, and you are an amazing actress and amazing human being Mayim! My Tuesdays could not be better with your channel!
Love her podcast 😍
@@angelaholmes8888 Me, too, man!
You are doing so good, Mayim Bialik! I love you, girl!
I like everything about this guy, the voice , the humor, the down to earthness and friendliness.
I remember seeing Seth Green in "Amazing Stories." TV series. He had a Caribbean babysitter who didn't take any nonsense to his cheeky behaviour. 🤣😂
Seth Green was the funniest kid I always wanted to hang out with. 😊
Having never done psychedelics, I find that a constant theme. Is the realization and ability of being one in the universe --- on a level that opens at a level that’s nots related to present mindfulness.
Seth explained atoms of all that’s connected in this earth and the universe -- Has been explained to me over and over, by non famous people too. There must be something to that, even in ancient cultures
Awww Seth Green! He's adorable!!! Great interview! Thank you!!!
I liked Seth before, but now I know him a little better and like him even more. What a smart, energetic, focused mensch. Yes, Seth, you are a mensch.
Best podcast ever. So hooked that I binge watch/listen. Gets me through the day. :)
Isnt this the guy with kids behind his wall?
Such great chemistry, these two. And some good dish! I just wish that the commercial breaks were more strategically placed. Frequently, Green was cut off mid-sentence, and it totally deflated what he was trying to say.
It was a mind blower for me when I discovered Juliette Lewis was the daughter of the guy who played the sidekick Orville in the Clint Eastwood ape movies. They agreed with her being emancipated to make it easier for her to find work, which her father Geoffrey, being an actor, was sympathetic towards.
I am a big fan of those dumb ape movies lol.
I am really surprised about how openly Seth talks about using drugs and that they were responsible for his realization at 16. He acts like it’s not a big deal to use drugs yet most people I know who have used drugs ended up having some kind of breakdown or getting in trouble with the law. Regardless of whether you get a “pure” drug or not, everyone reacts differently and taking even one drug one time can have negative effects on one’s physical and mental health. I am a mother of three and do not condone drug use unless you seek a doctors care. I’ve watched most episodes of this podcast but this one stood out to me for the way drugs were talked about so nonchalantly. Like if a young person is watching this and is thinking about trying a drug this makes it seem like it would be ok. This has been bothering me since yesterday so thought I would comment.
OMG! It’s Tuesday and I’m not able to fully watch MY podcast till next Sunday (because it’s not my fav podcast but THE ONE and ONLY podcast I’ve been ever able to watch to the point that has hooked me to it and made me an addict..a thing being a Mental Health related podcast is quite contradictory itself! Missing you guys! 💜Greetings from the powder snowed slopes! ❄️
I started to love Seth when he played oz on Buffy. He’s such a dynamic talent. I’ve been a hardcore robot chicken and family guy fan. Seth is such a comedic treasure ❤
Thank goodness that didn't happen to you or Seth. I adore you both. Theirs this thing where Seth was everywhere for like ever and he knows everyone. I was trying to tell my daughter of all the things you both have accomplished thank goodness for Google I can't remember it all! 💝🙏💝 the best part is you're happy and healthy. Still doing amazing things and stuff that brings you joy!! 💝🙏💝
I needed this, what a great conversation to watch❤!
Good interview as always. My sister who has never been into drugs of any kind did take a couple puffs of pot for anxiety or just because... but it's a rare thing. What she does do every night is Gummies for sleep & she's happy with it. She has zero issues with it. I'd try it if I could but not smoking it, I quit many years back because the new strains are too strong for me & set off my panic buttons. I think there's a lot to be said about the good medicine being done in the field of making the products for sleep & pain & it's natural. I can't even do topicals for pain because of my Pain Management contract.
I think you're the one getting me through this holiday season, Mayim. 💕 (No pressure! 😂)
🙀🙌🫶
@@MayimBialik you're a really awesome actress Dr Bialik. I'm really happy you liked my comments thrice
I love Seth Green. He is very funny. Love everything he has done.
I started going to therapy because I couldn't get enough sleep. I could go to sleep, but my brain would wake me up every night for HOURS, every night.
Therapy has helped with that a great deal with this.
My brain was very much like Seth's. It just wouldn't shut up because I have too much gong on in my life.
So glad it's been helping you, Sheila. Great job doing the work!!! 🧠🫶
Therapy is not the solution, you have to change your lifestyle and reduce chronic stress
wow, what a wonderful channel, faithful follower, greetings from Mexico City, I really admire your work.... Muchas felicidades 👏👏👏👏
Mayim I haven't watched this podcast yet (I atch all of them) but an interesting tidbit of info. Seth grew up in my neighborhood. He is younger than me but his dad, Herb Gershenfeld, tutored me in math. He was a great teacher and helped me pass Algebra!!
Love these conversations you create with this podcast.... How can there be a formula to life when we come in with different circumstances, have a different soul path, and are graced with archetypes to get us through this journey for however long our "contract" lasts. Our journey is unique to us like a fingerprint even though we have siblings in the exact same environment. Our lives are intimate but impersonal at the same time. There is one formula for us: Find what we are good at for the time we are here and share that to help heal others/the world even when we think we are not - we actually are helping to heal ourselves in the process.
Hi Seth.
Please do tell us, what is your favorite meal? Better yet let me guess. You prefer chicken. Isn’t that right? Or is it pasta? PIZZA!! It has to be PIZZA!
I remember when Isaac was alive, he did tell us “normies” SOOO much about you.
Do you still have that private room in your house? That one, um I forget what you said it’s for, but that one room with Children’s beds? That one. Do you still have children there?
Anyway, it was great to see you as it’s been years.
So cool I always say in "Wienerisch" which is so similar to Yiddish that someone or a place is "heimisch" you said "hemish" right, Mayim? Same thing with calling someone a real "Mensch".. Like Seth Green is indeed as well. It's just so heart warming.
I so needed to se this today!! I am 56 yr old single woman with MS and can say that cannabis has been the only drug I can use now. I got sober in AA in 90 but found cannabis for my MS pain.
FYI my MS is now like a mild mushroom trip, I am now housebound but helped by others. I spent 13 yrs in therapy and dealt with my demons like PTSD
Spot on I feel like cannabis is the final drug answer for MS. FYI my parents were 70's Cal potheads
Watched the facts of life, to robot chicken with alotta Buffy and Blossom in there, thank you for dragging him on to your podcast!
Happy 50th Birthday Seth
Loved his performance in "America's Sweethearts" !
Can't buy me love will always be 1 of the coolest 80s teen movies, and Chucky Miller was and still is 1 of the cool kids 🤭❤
Not sure he wants to hear it, but I was definitely taken back to math class. He looks so much like his dad.
I feel like I catch a little bit of smart every time I listen to these. You're loved
That's our goal - thanks so much for watching, James!!! 🧠🫶
Definitely not my 90s heart going wild! Loved Robot Chicken so much, but Seth will always have my heart as Scott Evil. ❤️
Btw, not me waiting patiently for the Austin Powers reboot/re-emergence phenomenon that has happened to all classics over the last several years. (Ghostbusters, Back to the Future etc)
Awesome guest! ❤
Ask the cards what Seth green does
Ed Debevic's!!!!!!! Nostalgia just hit hard! Such a weird fun place 🥰
Legendary role in Mass Effect ❤
How fricken cool is Seth Green. Great show! One of my favorite podcast, you do an awesome job Mayim ❤️
Watched his movie Changeland 2 nites ago. Sweet. Good scenery -- mellow ambiance.. it's for folks with an open heart.
@@mimmycal have any of you heard about Seth? By the look of the comments, my guess is no.
I used to love Seth Green. So comical and he could make everyone laugh. Now that I know what I know, I’m nauseous when I see him or hear his name.
What a damn shame and waste of good talent.
I Adore this Show About"Real"Star- People Stories Behind The Screen And Their Fame!!Wishing you a Better year,Thanks to Share All Those Stories even Many are Cruel:They Can Teach US,a lot.
this has been such a great interview!
Thanks so much, Brian!!!
I personally think there are an infinite amount of variables that go into the make up that is you. Part genetics part environment, diet, sunlight, biochemistry, even the air composition of where you grew up, and the sum of every experience you ever had. I dont think there could ever be any formula to make a human think or feel or be anything exactly, because there are so many variables.
Issac Kappy had things to say about this man.
ruclips.net/video/6MaVxmNXtPY/видео.html
A mentally ill suicidal guy...😅
Thank for the your experiences and opinions on marijuana. It is very helpful to me.
I miss Kappy.
Love you two!
꧁༒☬Seth☬༒꧂ Green is a cool individual. Enjoyed the 'brain talk'!
Gosh I also cry if I try positive mantras or if people compliment me. Why!??? Lol
Isaac Cappy has more important information for you to know about this man
How does one get in contact with Mayim's podcast people? I know some heroes who run a organization trying to improve the world mental health related but don't have much attention.
Love the Podcast so far. But do you have 2 separate mattress company sponsors in one Podcast? 😳! Get er done
I learn something every day. I had no idea Seth Green was Jewish. "Who knew??". Why did I miss that bit of info. And now instead of getting my important sleep I want to watch hours of Robot Chicken. 😅😅
I just watched changeland I can relate so much to the base story line but my situation is slightly different and I have no money to go on vacation accept to drive to a friend's place and stay with fhem
The sound was off and when I saw the screen, I thought she was interviewing Michael More, then I realised that it was Mayim. Not trying to be mean. Just a factual report of a moment that caught me off guard.
What are your thoughts on sleepytime tea (celestial brand)
I love your content, but too many commercials makes it seem like I am developing attention deficit disorder.
Lol I was flat chested for years..41 and gravity is on my side! Hahaaaaa😂
My fascination with Seth Green is probably not healthy. Lol
Am I supposed to be sleep yes. Am I still gonna watch the video also yes.
My attention span I very short and I sometime I have to watch the video I ten minutes bits so can finish the whole thing.
Is that why Peter g goes on about Mrs garret
Was watching this and my aunt said he's The Cha Ching Guy...
Isaac Kappy RIP
I'm 10 min in and when You ask Seth if he was from Philly and then he says yeah. Then you say born an rr
I'm 10 min in and when You ask Seth if he was from Philly and then he says yeah. Then you say born and raised the exact same same time as I did same the
You both worked with Bette Midler.
I tell you what… as soon as I had my bat Mitzvah, I was DONE! No, I’m not getting confirmed. No, I don’t want to learn to speak Hebrew. I AM DONE!! I know when all the holidays are. I know why we celebrate them. But I do not actively celebrate (NO). I do the easy stuff. I light my Menorah for 8 nights, I make latkahs and I’ll go to the occasional Megillah reading if one of my other friends talks me into it. I light a Yahrzeit candle for my father every year and I will not stay for the whole day during Yom Kippur but I will stay for the Mourner’s Kaddish. I grew up kosher style and still do not eat a cheeseburger (the thought of it kinda grosses me out) and my running joke is that I’m the “bad Jew”…. I’ll take those extra days off, if my office expects me to come in during Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur, “sorry. I need to go to Synagogue. It’s a very important holiday and Yes, I’m Jewish” but only when it’s convenient! LMAO… I’m a BAD Jew…
And Marijuana is NOT addictive. Liking how it feels is different. If you stop doing pot cold turkey, you won’t feel anything like withdrawals. But being addicted to the feeling, it happens. I used to do a LOT of acid back in the early 90’s and when I stopped taking it, I missed the FEELING I experienced while I was enjoying the trip. Let’s get this straight and understood. There is NOTHING in either drug to get addicted to. I stopped dosing COLD and the only thing I missed was the “trails” and spending an evening at the Washington Monument (I grew up in DC) watching the patterns in the granite move. Course, 9/11 kinda took my favorite trip toy from me. There was a time you could go to all the outdoor monuments (Lincoln Memorial, the statue of Einstein, the Jefferson Memorial) at whatever time of day or night. Now, no one is allowed on government property after dark… 😢
And I always knew Seth Green was cool. He HAD to be! After watching Robot Chicken, that show is SO FU*KED UP, he had to be someone I’d enjoy hanging out with…. It’s hard to find another person with a sense of humor THAT DARK! Great interview. Thanks!!
🤖🐔
Seth 😍
I'm about to quit doctors and do 🍄 for depression microdosing, and keep on with smoking weed for my pain.
Sus
I love your podcast. I stopped using pot years ago. I wake up in terror from my dreams several times during the week. Sometime, I will have a night without this happening. When it does happen, it happens severa l times a night. I drink a lot now a d I've finally gotten over my use of pot. You're very judgemental, I would have never have become addicted to alcohol if Marijuana had been available. It had no side effects. Finally, you can get so you don't have to smoke it. You piss on it and I live in a state where you can get very addictive drugs easier than you can get "Medical Marijuana "
This is very telling, his disassociation with his parental figures no doubt led to his disassociation about children. Obviously why he has no problem, trafficking, minor children, hiding them in his special room for his own disgusting personal activities.
Autotune is set pretty high
Seth Green is a Jewish hero?? Not something to be proud of Mayim.
"I am a nice person"- is his bullshit self reflection stance.
Yuck.
Seth Green is unofficially dead btw they might replace him with a AI/NPC clone
Isaac Kappy enough said
I know, right?
I would imagine most of Mayim’s audience is familiar with The Facts of Life. Lisa Whelchel’s character, Blair Warner, was not a “snobby christian conservative”. She was a snobby rich girl, a spoiled debutante. But she wasn’t overtly christian or religious. In fact there was an episode built around her lack of religion, where she gets into a conflict, one of many, with Jo (Nancy McKeon) over her own lack of belief in God spurred on by her parents’ divorce. Lisa herself became very religious in her own personal life, but the character of Blair was not.
Is this Seth's way of trying to redeem himself in the public eye after being suspect in having inclination toward CP?
The only people who care about that fake internet conspiracy gossip nonsense are the QAnon kooks and the QAnon-adjacent kooks.
CP?
"I've never mastered anything... none of its perfect, even if I'm describing it as my mantra." Love this thought & might need to steal it for myself.
It's very honest and freeing.
Always happy for Tues to see what you have for us!
Just watching Mayim’s comments on the drugs. I love that she is acknowledging the negative side effects of drugs. My brother in law and my step brother both had mental illness and both had mental breakdowns through pot usage. Maybe Seth doesn’t feel as positive as he seems if he needs drugs to put him to sleep and he is self medicating. I should have watched the rest before I commented but it was bothering me so much. Addiction is not fun for anyone.
Hollywood people are generally naive and don't realize the dangers of drug addiction, they even romanticize it
Love seth green since he was on buffy the vampire slayer and the austin powers movies 😊❤❤❤
I could really relate to the struggle of finding a therapist who really speaks to who and that you can develop a good relationship with, and also the importance of that - it’s taken me a long time!
Really brilliant episode as always ❤️
Me too
Having good friends is far more important than any therapist.
Only popping up to tell Mayim she wears today exactly the MBB T-shirt that, in the biggest size available, hugged me every night as my new (from summer) fav pajamas! “It’s never too late to read the wise mottos & counsels written there” (hubby’s words before cuddling for the night..😅😂😂)
I always loved Seth Green. I’m a ginger too. 😊 and he’s from Philly too?? Me too! Nice to see you Seth. Loved robot chicken. ❤❤❤
I have a friend who made a tee-shirt, freshman year at SUNY Purchase.... that says.. LSD cured MY ADHD. He describes that experience, very much like Seth. I just find it really interesting, the research and reason behind the action.
Funny, how I was introduced to Seth on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But that show was never mentioned.
I really enjoyed this episode! Seth Green has done TONS of amazing things but it was funny when you mentioned Crazy Ex-Girlfriend cause I instantly remembered the song “Tell Me I’m Okay Patrick” from the show 🤣!! He also collaborated with Rachel Bloom in the past and I would LOVE to see her as a guest here as well 🤞🏽🥰❤️ Thank you guys for another episode ❤️🇧🇷
I love Seth Green! We are the same age and fellow gingers. Thank you ,Mayim, for this.😊
I can hear Chris every time in his voice just when he speaks! Great episode today here, Mayim!
My introduction to Seth Green was in Austin Powers lol, any other millennials? 😅
It was Buffy and when he was in the nineties movie can hardly wait
🤭yes, zip it
Breakyolik...Nice Brazil Soccer Team you are wearing Go Brazil...Go Hexa...Go Pelé...
I use Mayim's show to help my college students. Wil Wheaton's life can really help all of us and so many other guests that can educate viewers.
i look forward to these episodes every week, thank you! ❤
Same here ☺️
Seth Green has such great timing and is such a talented actor, from Byrds of Paradise to Airborne, Can't Hardly Wait, Enemy of the State, Austin Powers.... cool show Mayim
i absolutely love this show we all have mental health issues we should all respect each other regardless
I remember him in rat race which is my favorite movie.
Red headed Jewish people are so interesting to me because Ashkenazi Jews basically came from Celtic people and Central Asians.
I've loved Seth since Buffy. I've grown up watching you and Seth. This was great.
Absolutely loved Seth talking about the 50's diner...oh my goodness he was so excited, like a little kid!!! ❤️
