Hahaha, glad you listened to us and gave it a shot. I really, really dislike the original, but this version never fails to make me smile. And that bass solo is so ridiculous. 😍
Your " As he was the cat and I was a little "ah" ball of yarn" - says it all - and goes for all of their tunes. They play, we follow, happily!! =D #lottalove
@@SteveOGRock Let’s just say that I’m a little less wise today… 😁But I got a bookmark AND: a prescription for Steve O’ G reacts to Circus by DL. Uncanny..!
I'm a massive DL fan, much like you. I too have never listened to this song for the very same reason. Bieber just isn't my thing. But if you're gonna do it, I'll take the ride with you. Love the jazz chord fills bridging you from one chord to the next. Agree on the vocal runs by Jonah...a tad bit overdone but damn can he sweep the notes or what? And I don't know who masters their stuff but the tone on Aaron's snare is freaking perfect. It's super bright with a crisp snap and pop that is approaching a picolo. And Henrik...smh...dude just ripped off that solo while casually looking around the room like it's nothing. He showed some speed in this one that I haven't seen before but also chorded parts of it, as if it wasn't hard enough on it's own. Very enjoyable. Great breakdown bro. Hope your holidays are jamming.
Honoured that joined the ride with me on this one. I was also super sceptical haha. But yeah, as usual these lads threw together something pretty jaw dropping.
I like you RESISTED listening to it, the "Baby, baby..." is awful from the original, but since you listened to it - here I am. LOVED everything they did when he wasn't singing "baby". Loved Aaron in the old stretched out t-shirt! You're always on-point in your reaction 😃
I never liked this song. I’m still not crazy about it. But I unashamedly love DL and this cover definitely had some super interesting moments. The bass solo was fucking wild. The drum fills were so busy but so subdued at the same time - you could hear where he would hold back juuuuust a bit so there was more of a shuffle to the sound of the kit rather than a loud POP of the snare. And the vocals had such range. There was a lot of WOW moments in a song that I simply don’t think I’ll ever be a fan of… hahaha. Props to them for doing such a great job with it though. The musicianship is stellar.
Indeed! What I also enjoyed was seeing them in their earlier stages as a group, you can tell they're still trying to find their preferred balance of busy and restrained. Very cool.
I’ve been looking forward to your reaction on this one, and you didn’t disappoint. Thank you so much. Your reactions are something of an improvisation too, adding to my enjoyment of the tune. Speaking of which, I avoided this cover, “Circus,” And ”Rolling in the Deep” all of which I’ve listened to several dozen times now because they’re all so damn mesmerizing. At this point, I’m not sure if an artist should be flattered, afraid or both when they learn that DL is covering their song.
YOU are a treat to watch, haha! Never liked the original « Baby, baby » and was worried I’d get turned off by this remake. Part of me wished DL hadn’t covered it. The other part of me thought : « This amazing band can turn shit to gold!» And yes, Henrik’s bass playing skills in this song are off the charts. I think I’ve developped a schoolgirl crush on these guys… 😅 There’s nothing sexier than beautiful musicianship.
Haha yeah, in fairness to them this song was everywhere when it came out, they probably thought "right, we have to reimagine this thing somehow". And they definitely elevated it beyond what I thought possible. They're mad geniuses haha.
Most excellent reaction. I get such a kick out of you when you are tripping out to Henrik. Your whole demeanor changes and it's a real treat to watch. Somehow I managed to ignore, escape...whatever the original of this so when I first saw the DL version that became the one I was familiar with. I hafta say I love this take and loved your reaction. Bit of a digression here but I've recently stumbled onto the best new fusion I've heard in a long while and it features Gergo Borlai on drums-just monsterous drumming. Even if you don't do a reaction give a listen. This is utterly phenomenal playing on a very creative song. Hope you enjoy. Anna Rakita the violinist assembled the group and wrote the song. Oh video quality is 5 stars. *Rakita/Borlai/Davidyants/Lukács* ruclips.net/video/nFuICvoaTHM/видео.html
@@SteveOGRock Nice to hear. I always enjoy your comments and this is the most stellar new piece of new music I have run across in a long time. There really are some incredible musicians out there.
Yeah...Jonah is a lot on this song. Like, a lot. Only thing that makes this version better than the original for me is Henrik. Their "Rollercoaster" cover (another JB song) is pretty great, though.
Bom dia. Visto ter achado que Gabriel Henrique gravava os covers em vários takes, aconselho a ver os covers que ele fez dentro do carro para provar o que sabia fazer. Boas festas ☃️☃️
HA! I'm glad you got to this. everything they touch is.... upscaled.
Certainly is!
Whatever they touch 🤩
I mean, if this doesn't prove that, what could? haha

To us? Are you involved with the Loops?
@@milesdust3465 Lotta is the Original Loops Ambassador ;)
She might’ve, just might’ve been one of the many who suggested this song… 👍
