Love how you mixed all that together. I never realized there was a recipe for hot water cornbread. We just made it as a daily routine when I was growing up. My grandmother's, my mother aunts just made it. We learned from them. Plain white meal a little yellow self rising cornmeal hot water a cast-iron hot skillet of hot grease. It was and still is delicious. Me and my sister and cousin still make. There's hardly a dinner meal when we don't have it. As a seventy-seven year old person we still cook for our family. Passing the tradition on that was passed to us.

I really love all of your videos! Being a black woman raised in Georgia you’re supposed to know how to cook, but because I spent all of my teenage years in foster care, no one ever taught me. I do know how to cook based on what I watched my Aunt doing in the kitchen but you have let me know what I need to do in my own kitchen to add that soul🥰and I thank you so much for this! I can tell you right now I’m pretty sure my husband and my children do too.❤

It won't hurt anything to let the mixture cool before you form your pones. That way there's no need to add extra water that'll just make the oil more likely to pop on you! Onions are good to add to these. Toss some into your mixture.
