Omgosh! My Momaw used to fix these back in the 60s. She'd mix the yellow corn meal (that she used as filler for the dogfood) with the white cornmeal and fry them up in bacon grease and I remember crumbling them up on top of my black eyed peas that had snap beans in it. Thank you for the memories, God bless you!
@jamesapt66 Hi James the inside is cooked already because of the hot water.....it should be soft inside and crispy out. Make sure you're not adding too much or less water. Thank you for watching. Bless!
@@paradisenoiretv2839 Mine was crispy outside but was mushy on the inside. This was my first time ever tasting hwc and so naturally I expected the inside to taste like cornbread normally does. I’ll try again but start off with a lower heat so that I can prevent the outside from cooking too fast.
@jamesapt66 OK so sounds like you uses too much water. Next time use less water make sure the water is very hot 🔥 and let the mixture rest for 5/10 minutes and cook on medium high heat. Lol, I hope that helps!☺️. Thank you! Bless!
