I don't know you but I am so incredibly proud of you. The strength, vulnerability and resilency it took for you to do this is astounding. Although healing is often messy, it is also beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story. Well done!👏🎉
This sounds exactly like my story, but I didn’t break until 35. I literally remember feeling like my brain was breaking. Thankfully I am on the path the healing through IFS and trauma informed care. This is SO important.
Thank you for listening! I’m working still on changing the narrative of mental health and domestic abuse so we all may speak freely and be supported as we need it to be by our healthcare providers of all types in the future. 🙏🏻💗
@@Ruthie-n1r thank you, and I an so happy you have that gift inside wanting to be born. When the day comes, I would be honored to see what you create if that felt right to you. 🙏🏻
I'm writing a paper, and perhaps a thesis, on the biological effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed care. It is so important. Thank you for continuing to fight for it!
Thank you for sharing your story! ❤ I also have complex PTSD, but instead of finding a coach, I learnt and I educated myself about trauma informed care so I could ‘try’ help myself. I’m still learning and still trying to heal. But I know I will get there, some day! ❤
Thank you for watching, and I'm so glad you had the experience of being able to do that for yourself! What strength. May you continue to journey well Carly. 🤍
Beautiful, Adrienne! I’m in tears. What a powerful and important message. Thank you for having the courage to share you story and how we can all make a difference.
I'm sorry Adrienne. For all that happened to you. Thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing with all of us. And I truly relate to many aspects of your story. Even if the details aren't exactly the same, the feelings are very relatable. And I just want to say you are not alone.
Wow that is such a powerful talk Adrienne. Thank you. I'm just finding TIC and I'm probably twice your age, but this gives me hope. You are being a fierce warrior for health, I hope your daughter sees that strength.
Thank you Isa 🙏🏻 I wish you powerful transformation on your TIC experience, filled with renewal and many moments of joy on the journey still yet to unfold. 💗
I slowly over time gave away pieces of myself for decades. On the outside, like Addie, I was successful. On the inside, I was, to sum it quickly, not ok. It is very isolating, as most people who "know" me don't know me. And, worse, when trauma symptoms surface, most people (no matter how "close" they were to you) back away, and away, and away.
Hi Addie. You are super brave. We need more Addies out there to tell our story. I’m 60 and have been through various therapies my whole life. I often feel robbed. I would like to find a community that I can heal with as it can be so lonely. I appreciate you doing this talk. I wish I could meet you in person.
Amazing presentation!! I have been trained in TIC and have done presentations on the topic - but will tell you, have NOT heard quite as moving of a presentation as you did. I applaud your bravery, resilience, and advocacy. Thank you for letting people into your world in order to make services safe for everyone. Thank you - and particularly for never giving up!!!
It's great to hear your thoughts and thank you for sharing and watching. I am grateful for your support and am so happy to hear about your TIC training...the more awareness and training around TIC the better our world will be!
Thank you. I’m also someone who is defying those statistics. I hope that in my professional work I am able to use the fire lit inside me by my personal experiences to create safety in the world for others. “Though my voice shakes, I will not be silent”
That was an amazing story, thank you for sharing. I am glad that your subconscious remained you of the true selfless promise you made. Suicide is never the right answer. It just takes the pain you are experiencing and moves it to those that love you.
I work with brave powerful women like your self who are learning to spread their wings with the assistance of trauma informed care. Thank you for sharing your journey 💜🦋💜

Are we teaching resilience or how to be a victim?

Teaching what kind of treatment HELPS with processing trauma, teaches people how NOT to be a victim anymore (nor perpetrator in some cases).
