  • The Bournemouth Flyer railtour from Chester to Bournemouth starred 37401 alongside 37405 and 57307.
Departing Chester at 06:17 and returning a little bit after our booked 22:55 arrival it made for a long but enjoyable day.
We start off with a shot of 57307 bringing in the ECS from Crewe before some shots of the star attraction, 37401 looking resplendent in BR Large Logo livery complete with "Scotty" dog and Eastfield Depot stickers.
After a pit stop at Tame Bridge Parkway we thrash out and up the bank before a jump Bournemouth where 57307 drags the ECS out to Eastleigh. A little later on and after a spectacular display from the Vulcan (as featured on my Aviation channel) the ECS returns, with 37401 leading it in with some major tones.
The next shot is at Didcot Parkway where to our surprise 61306 "Mayflower" pulls up working the "Cathedrals Express" tour. As I expected we departed before they did but I still included a quick shot of us passing and making our way North.
The final shots are some views around our carriage, which I'm sure will bring back memories for quite a few of you from journeys in the past. The final shot is of our train being held outside Chester before the 37s disrupt a quiet night and bring us back in, with the final close up of the "Chester" sign and plaque I'd filmed 18 hours earlier...
I hope you enjoy this video, if you would like to see the Vulcan display then follow the link below to my Aviation Channel.
