    I knew that having cooler boost on 24/7 wasn't gonna work out in the long run. Thanks for the vid man makes alot of sense it being a friction issue.I thought it was just a bunch of dust accumulated over time so I took it apart and brushed some off the fan and now it sounds like a fucking lawnmower.Ill get my affairs in order for the repair tomorrow, wish me luck... I watched the video and done the exact same thing but with sewing machine oil, before doing this operation my fan wouldn't have had exceeded 5700 rpm on cooler boost but now it goes up to 6400 rpm and it sounds like a quiet ferrari engine if you get what I mean... the noise is not bothering (maybe it's the resonance of my heatsink I'm not sure)

    • @parsavulcan2003
      @parsavulcan2003 3 месяца назад +1

      I'm using liquid metal for nearly a year but I tore the device down again and I found out that the heatsink was bent in a "U"ish way, I bent it back (VERY VERY CAREFULLY) to it's place and that ferrari engine sound gone (the fan blades were having contact with its housing and I think maybe the heatsink bent itself overtime). the gpu fan now stands at 6000 RPM dead when enabling cooler boost.
      and thanks for the video.

      @@commonmanideas4483 update : I frickin did it
      Thanks alot brother. You saved me $27 dollars. Can't thankyou enough. All I can do it sub and like your vid.
      Technique I used :
      I was afraid to drill so I came to the conclusion of scrapping that copper part. I took my vinyl cutting blade, which is kinda sturdy and started scraping left n right on the copper part.
      As I had multiple blades I kinda broke the edge of the blade and made it a little bit smaller than the copper part. Then i held my blade tool down on the copper part with✋ one palm and rotated🤏 the blade with other hand. Slowing drilled it manually and after a while the center rod was exposed. There was a black Rubber ring covering it from the sides. I removed it. Then poured some drops of rubbing alcohol and rotated the blade. It was already very much smooth. Ended by applyigngmt bike engine oil (fully synthetic) and sealed with a cello tape.
      Final outcome: It silent af now and better than original.
      Tips: Be patient and don't rush things. I was scrapping that copper for straight 20-30 mins.
      If you want to see the images of the process hit me up on snap✌️@omkardabz
