How long will the lubrication survive? I read from some website that it’l last for a month (max). Does heat contribute to the loss of lubrication in fans?
If you have a fan that doesn't separate, don't force it because you will break it. instead do this: 1. Dip the whole fan in lubricant and shake it around, marinade that bad boy for 10 minutes, then churn it around gently to get that sweet lube inside. if you can't do that then get a dropper (I didnt bother to get a dropper so I used eye dropper, emptied the inside and filled it with engine lubricant.) and apply a VERY generous amount of lubricant to it from all sides. I use this method and it works perfectly. make sure to hold the fan in a way that allows gravity to drip into the centre motor. 2. Get some paper towel and try to clean it as much as you can , it will drip lube for a while, just keep clean all parts of the fan. put the paper towel between the metal shell and the fan and clean as much as possible. 3. when you have gotten it as clean as you could, wrap the fan in a towel and away from the pc. activate the fan to get rid of the remaining oil. even if you cleaned really well it will still squirt all over the place so get a wool towel and make sure its covered perfectly but making sure the towel doesnt touch the fan. run it on max speed for few minutes, even if theres no more oil coming out. 4. reassemble and done. tested and confirmed by me. my 6 year old laptop is running fine once again.
My gaming laptop fans no longer seem to dissipate heat the way they used to. I've tried cleaning them and repasting the cpu and gpu. Do you think that if I lubricate the fans they perform like they used to or they should be completely replaced?
I can't lie, seeing that thermal paste not be spread across the bare silicon hurt me. The method shown here is how I would apply paste to a processor with an IHS, not one without one...
I couldn't get my fan off. Your video showed me to push from the other side. That worked. Thanks!
This video shows the little details that many articles miss. Wonderful, thanks
Lol I just learned that you can just pull the fan because of this video😂😂. Thank you.
Thanks for making this video, really helpful to have nice guides like this floating around on the internet.
Love the SKX on the leather strap.
Thats very satisfying 😊
this helped me out👍
def helpful, thanks!
THANK MAN! SO HELP FUL
thanks a lot men. ...
I notice today my laptop as a small amount of oil coming from fan place, the strange thing is after I clean it no more oil apear.
Would car window lubricant be a good substitute for the oil?
How many time can the fan keep quiet ?
How long will the oil make fan work ?
Please what did you apply on that surface that looks like paste
Thanks :)
Hey,
Can u mention the cleaning liquid and lubricant u used??
Would you please tell me what the type of lube you have used to lubricate the fan?
Thanks a million times bro.. I actually got car brake fluid when you said any lubrication oil. It worked like charm... Bless up 👆
No! Brake fluid is corrosive. Don't use it.
KY jelly works better
Does this goes for a HP Omen 15 Laptop fan too?
is that possible to buy just fan motor with wire without replacing the box?
What’s the pink lubricant that is used in the video?
0:50 I use very fine toothbrush + iso alcohol
So, if there is no sticker and rubber plug, you just pull it out?
what to use for lubrication?
Is that an Asus A43 laptop? 🙏
can i just put oil in it?
I almost bought another fan and issue was so simple

i did it with cuisine oil it lasted 3 days D: but my fan is faulty, the lubrication removed the noise but it came back after 3 days
@@zedd0462 cuisine oil? That sounds horrifying. Mad props to your guts
Heat can cause evaporation of oil, yes. Sewing machine oil is recommended by many people.
What you used to blow out the dust on the fan, what's it called? How often will a fan need to be lubricated?
DSLR dust blower, lubricant when it starts to produce specific noise
@@5ar30 whan kind of lubrican you use?
What did you use to grease the fan?
I used oil for 2 stroke engine.
For this purpose any mechanical lubricants or oils will serve.
@1gil2Kill Yes, you're right.
How did you remove the fan from the magnet? Im having a hard time doing that. Also what can I use to lubricate the fan?
Just pull the fan
Synthetic motor oil works fine

How do you run the fan "away from the PC?" I wouldn't know how to do that
I also want to disassemble my old computer fan to clean it, but I can't take out the motherboard. The structure and layout of the computer is too bad.
nice video dude, what did you use to lube the fan?
Thanks, I used oil for 2 stroke engine.

@@5ar30 thanks for the response!
@@5ar30 Can i use wd 40 for that?
WD-40 isn't actually a true lubricant. WD stands for "water displacing" and its main use is as a solvent or rust dissolver.
@@5ar30 Man thanks you so much i just solved my probelm👌👍

are you sure it's the fans and not the contact between chips and heatpipes?
@@tro7e Yes I'm sure.
Replace if you can
I know that I'm late, altought I'd love if you could answer this question: What did you use on that cotton swab?
I used alcohol.
@@5ar30 thank you
use wheel bearing grease and it will go years before needing to be done again.
What did you used to remove the thermal paste?
Alcohol and ear stick (Cotton Buds for Ear)

Hello. Intel has recommended to apply thermal paste with the pea size pattern in its official website. greetings
Bro, I broke my fan
