    you didn't do the engine bay.. if I'm not mistaken, the LM F1 had an engine bay lined in 24k gold because BMW has/had a reputation for overheating, and the gold helped to dissipate the heat that came off the engine. I had an inline 6 BMW, and.. you want to talk about a ghost in the machine? i went through the motions, even sought guidance from two different mechanics and still could not find the cause of my overheating problem... at the end of the day it was remedied by constant maintenance and attentive care. could never let the car just sit there and idle. it could be 5 minutes or it could be 45 minutes, or sometimes not at all... all in all it was just about guaranteed to overheat if you just let it run.. but i digress.... damn dude, without the rest of the cars in the garage... that McLaren replica, is an astounding feat in itself.. great job brother. damn nice cars.

I try keep up with every single video, I enjoy learning from your fabrication. I am going to be building a 1998 Toyota GT - ONE replica Le Mans car. Will be cncing the entire body out of foam which I will then start laying Fibreglass on. I really like the door latches you have used on your Mclaren! Where did you get those aswell as all your other little hood and engine lid fixtures?

    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  2 года назад +1

      Hi Garreth. Thanks for your message! It is great to hear when someone gets inspired by my videos.
      The buttons for the doors are industrial power switches (like they use on tools like CNC and so on) that I modified. It is connected via a push rod to the door catch (from a VW Golf mk1). You will see the mechanism itself is on the body and the pin is on the door side. The door can be opened from the inside via a cable operated lever under the passenger seats (same as the original).
      The other lid fixtures are called dzus fasteners (they use it in the aircraft industry).
      Please keep me posted when you start your project. It sounds like it could be epic!

    The Mclaren was how I found your channel, I remember seeing something about it long ago and it might have been the cars.co.za one, and I wanted to show my brother and searched and found your channel.
    I though the sunroof on the isetta was for if you park too close to the wall and you cant get out, you had to open the roof and push the car away from the wall enough to open the door cause there was no reverse?
    Thank you for all the effort you put into making the videos, they make it a happy day for me when ever there is a new one.

    Looks so nice but the Question for me is drives it Good ?? A Bodykit can doo alot People but the Good must be the mechanical Parts you need for driving like a F1 gtr

      Thank you. I don't think I can compare it with the real F1 but for me performance was more important than anything. That's why I spent so much on the complete drive train, suspension etc.

    I have the tooling to build the dettling sports car that's on youtube for sale if you want to produce a car that is close but better then the f1 in many many ways.

    I am unsure why everyone in the comment section is so hyped about this car. It looks exactly like a homebrew car. I would not want to call this a replica. This is like a turkish Rolex knock off quality.
