• Richard E. Grant on Os...
He's a legend. By the way he always wears 2 watches because one was given him by his late father and is always set to Swazi time.
Oh that's lovely!
Why the hell would you need swazi time?
@@ChristAcolyte He's from Swaziland, makes him feel connected to there.
@@themripley this is beautiful thing
He just radiates!! I have had a crush on him for decades...those blue eyes...I just love this beautiful and genuine man! Also: Watch his first film, Withnail and I!!
What a joyous lovely interview. It’s about time Richard gets his ‘day in the sun’! He’s brilliant!
Americans: go watch 'WITHNAIL AND I' as soon as you can and see why this guy's a national treasure in England. Greatest film ever made.
Richard E. Grant is a legendary and versatile British actor alongside with his fellow peers such as Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Sir Kenneth Branagh as well as legendary veterans such as Sir Anthony Hopkins, Sir Michael Caine, Jim Broadbent, and Sir Ian McKellen.
One of my favourite films ever.
+John J S *national treasure in Swaziland
@@MT-eo6tq And the UK, too. Joining him as the new national treasure of the UK is Olivia Colman.
He'll always be Withnail to me.
'I'm married, 32 years.' Deserves applause!
Well not anymore!
So nice that Richard E Grant has been nominated after all these years! Lovely to see he’s drinking in the adulation unashamedly. His character in the new movie is an extension of his Withnail character.
Richard E. Grant could be the perfect casting choice to play Judge Frollo in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame live action adaptation.
@@charley15z Clearly, basing on the original animated film, Richard E. Grant totally looks to the part very similarly. Not to mentioned that Richard E. Grant is also a versatile actor of stage and screen. He also have a history of playing villainous characters particularly Dr. Zander Rice in Logan. The role of Judge Frollo is truly perfect for him.
@@charley15z In regards to singing, some stage and screen actors have the massive proficiency in their singing abilities. Look no further to some of the examples than Hugh Jackman and Eddie Redmayne for Les Miserables (also written by Victor Hugo, who also wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame), and Ewan McGregor for Moulin Rouge! (McGregor also went on to star in another musical, Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast).
Perhaps, Richard E. Grant might nail that singing ability but we'll see how it goes. For now, all we can say is that he's a perfect casting choice for the role of Judge Frollo. That role is definitely gonna suit him.
Someone watches Grace Randolph
I agree!!! Perfect!
Oh gosh, YES!!! It'd be fantastic!
About Bloody TIME he was Nominated!!
Richard E. Grant is a legend!
God, I hope he gets it. But the nomination in itself is so huge, I couldn't be happier for him.
Such a genuine guy
He's such a pure guy, you just have to love him. Period.
He looks magnificent.
Can you imagine him and Jeff Goldbloom together? Jeff playing the piano and Richard singing perhaps.
First thing I ever saw Richard in was The Scarlet Pimpernel mini-series. So happy to see him get so much recognition in the US.
Finally! I saw Withnail and I when it was first released in theatres (I’m old) and have been a fan of his for years. For a good read, check out his memoir “With Nails”. He’s delightful.
Richard E Grant is so charming, dashing, interesting and well spoken man. It’s pleasure to listen to him.
The only man that can get away with wearing 2 watches
One of the watches was given to him by his dying father.
Peter O'tool carried it off well, too.
I love him so much he’s always so joyful and fun to listen to
"How To Get Ahead In Advertising"! Great movie!
I want him to win.
Wow, great interview!
His smile lights the room, what a wonderfull human. 😂😄
I wanna see him with Tom hiddelston having a conversation
Watch Loki episode 4 tommorow and you will get it 😉
@@AshishKumar-rp6xf dammn classic loki
Yeah about that...wish came true
Where is Swaziland? Oh Jimmy, you never venture outside California
He was F’ing hilarious in Spice World.
Lazlo Hollyfeld hella forgot he was in that the last thing I remember him in as a kid was Little Vampire
Spice World is what got Lena Dunham to cast Grant in Girls
He should get an Oscar for making Hudson Hawk watchable.
He's such a gem. I'm always happy to see him in any film. ❤
He was utterly brilliant in the film. I loved him The Little Vampire as a child lol
Gosh, do I love this guy, he makes such a good villain. Villains are cool!
He's like Geoffrey Rush after too much coffee.
Why the hell does he just crack me up so much just like his manner of speaking omg he’s so intriguing
Withnail and I... one of the best films you’ll ever watch!
Very funny and dark at the same time.
Absolute classic.
If it were re-released all the luvvies would be gushing for it... deserved loads of Oscars!
Withnail & I will forever be one of the funniest movies of all time.. Grant deserved his first oscar nom for that imo.. glad he gets his day in the sun! :)
Loved him in "Jack and Sarah" with Samantha Morton. Such a good movie.
Samantha Mathis :)
Glorious Purpose 💪
What a genuinely lovely guy.
I'm just going to say it..... He is one, handsome man!!
My fav so happy for him hope he wins
hopefully he got a role on J.K Rowlings universe.
Classic Loki❤️😭
We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here and we want them now!
Henry Dorsett this will be lost on Jimmy and the Americans lol
he will probabbly play a villian..he be perfect
The most charming man in the world.
LA story is a gem. Him, Steve Martin and Sarah Jessica Parker...highly reconmended
I love him. He's got the typical British charm but is so so smart and sophisticated it's kinda intoxicating..
His classic Loki use no more than 20 minutes to be the best Loki performance
This man doesn’t age
He was the best part of Hudson Hawk.
New Message All I keep hearing about that movie is what a huge flop it was. It makes me want to see it
@@richfictionfighter It was simply before it's time... I watch it at least once a year. And not just out of spite for critics, either!
New Message Listen to Richard E Grant's interview on the podcast 'Awards Chatter' by The Hollywood Reporter. He said there were multiple rewrites during filming. However, Bradley Cooper told Grant at an Oscars lunch that he loved Hudson Hawk growing up
Wow. He seems like an amazing being!! Very cool interview. Thanks Jimmy! ❤
Such a humble and funny man. love much
When I think of the word “luvvie” I think Richard E Grant. Love him.
Richard Grant is underrated.
Such a nice and sweet man :D And talented!
Thrawn, that's the dream.
Richard E Grant in Withnail & I and How to Get Ahead in Advertising are must see movies and am so glad after so long the world has caught up to his uniquely amazing acting chops.
Always our Doctor Seward in Bram Stoker's Dracula, but I loved him in Warlock all those years ago. Fight me.
He should win for best supporting actor. His performance is by far the best.
Yay!!
Old classic loki !!
It kinda looks like him too😯
Swazilands national treasure !
A marvelous suit on a marvelous man.
I Love Richard!
He is so great in LA story.
I love this Man. He is such a great guy. ❤
Richard E Grant is great! I watch a lot of young people who become too cool for school in interviews but look at him, after decades of acting, still so hungry and excited about acting. I really admire that. I had a crush on him way back - Withnail and I days - and I think he's still good looking. I also really enjoyed him in Jack and Sarah. Jimmy Kimmel on the other hand seems a bit ridiculous. The way he asks Richard E Grant about knowing stuff, like we're out here in the bush in Africa. Tbh we have a much better world view than Jimmy does. I mean, he doesn't even know where Swaziland is. The thing I love about being from Africa is that we learned about other countries - from USA to UK to India and China. We didn't just learn about our own backyard, yet think we know everything.
L.A. Story is my favorite movie of the ‘80s.
Classic Loki = GLORIOUS PURPOSE
The photo of Richard with ET is a hoot. He deserved to win a Oscar for his performance.
Loved Richard in Jack and Sarah (1995), Warlock and The cold light of day, to name a few.
I’m all here for his Cinderella Story
He's playing Darth Jar Jar.
Thrawn
Rubber Ducky 😂
would love to see him play a Grand Admiral of sorts ;)
He probably would've made a good Thrawn if Disney hadn't messed about with continuity.
He is wonderful.
Legend
WITHNAIL ("some cake to soak up the booze")
Richard is soooo adorable
This guy is probably one of my 3 favorite actors. No one ever knows aho he is 😭😭😭😭
I’m sorry I didn’t know who he was. He is amazing and a great story teller!
Such a class act.
Amazed
Hes an amzzing actor! Finally.
Richard E. Grant would be somehow be the preferable choice to play Judge Claude Frollo in a possible Hunchback of Notre Dame live-action adaptation.
Bloody hell not before time he got a nomination America this guy has only been around since 1987 doing film and TV, do yourself a favour and go watch Withnail and I or Warlock two of his earliest roles with the first being his most fondly remembered by the British. He also played the Scarlet Pimpernel in a BBC mini series during the 90s which was top class, a role as head bad guy in a Matt Smith Xmas Dr Who episode and apart from that he's also been in Game of Thrones The Hitman's Body Guard with Ryan Reynold's and even Logan doing scenes with Hugh Jackman. He's been around enough.
Heard he's being rumoured for Alfred Pennyworth, he'd do great!
*_“KIMMEL YOU TERRIBLE C*NT!!!”_*
(That’s a Withnail and I reference incidentally)
He has a beautiful personality!!!!
Amazing guy true gentleman
He was great as Allegiant General Pryde. We need to have in future movies that take place before the Rise of Skywalker.
Kimmel keeps going on about the Steve Martin film. How can he be in comedy and not have seen Withnail & I? Richard in that film has the most perfect delivery ever. I would be more star struck by him than anybody I think if I met him.
What a lovely man
He kinda similar to that bad guy in hunchback in notre dame(sorry kinda forget the title)
Frollo
Wow. What an extremely lovely man. I'm now obsessed.
First movie I saw of Richard’s was Corpse Bride. I’d recognize the voice anywhere
Tbh he should win
I love his character on Dracula
I love him.
How to Get Ahead in Advertising is a cult classic, it's too fkd up and brilliant, so glad to Jim Carey love it too!
I'm torn at having him or Christoph Waltz to narrate my life 😆
Impossible choice. You’ll have to let them alternate chapters 🥰
We want the finest wines in the world, we want them here, and we want them NOW!
We've gone on holiday by.mistake!!
Fingers crossed for REG!
