- Coincidentally, I was preparing for FFXIV's Shadowbringers tonight, and the very last trial i had to complete was Gilgamesh himself! It was kind of fun hearing his music during the fight. I'd have to say the making of this video exceeded the difficulty of the trial though!
I knew the only way to film this was to get a clear shot of my hands on that famous sus chord run at the beginning. One of the fun ways of practicing this piece was to play it with the OST. It's definitely tough keeping up to tempo! Can you spot a (somewhat) obvious note mistake somewhere? I thought it was correct until the day I recorded. And then there was no going back HAHA.

I just played it recently and it is now one of my favorites if not my favorite rpg/FF
Apparently, the reason being FFV only had an official release in Japan. So the west just didn't know about it.
@@willstanton7823 No, it was released on FF Anthology over two decades ago, in a combo with FFVI. So every fan of the latter got the former for free, if they wanted to play it on their PSX.
To a layman in the area such as myself, this seems to be perhaps the most challenging one I've seen you play! At least when it comes to speed precision and such control over such a wide range of octaves, you completely dominate the piano! This is simply breathtaking and I believe my favourite video of you playing so far!! It's so fast and precise, and it is one of my favourite songs from FFV OST!! I didn’t get to play FFV, but this certainly has a certain Final Fantasy vibe that just fits the battle tracks from the games I did play. Bravo capturing that essence with this performance!

I heard Final Fantasy XIV has a lot of throwbacks to past Final Fantasy games but this convinced me it's definitely time to start playing Final Fantasy XIV!

You really did it! Not just a cover, not just some other youtuber playing the song, you f**king nailed it! This is such a hard song to make listenable on the piano. Final Fantasy battle themes are all very hard to pull off well, they all just play second fiddle to other instrumentations, and this is the hardest of them all. I love this and I don't even know if I've heard a piano rendition of this song I've even liked.
