- So... This is someone else's game play to Gilgamesh's battle theme in FF5, but without the sound effects to it... I like the Dissidia font they used.
I would have done the footage myself... But I'm past that point in the game and didn't record it. Oops. Also, this is to celebrate the new Hildebrand quests for 6.15 in Endwalker.
Please don't take this down, Square, I want The8BitDrummer to drum to it one day. I'm not gonna monetize this for obvious reasons. Also, Square, PLEASE post up the Pixel Remaster OSTs to your music channels, then I wouldn't have to make this video. Just a thought. :P

It's 2022 and there's still no Final Fantasy title where Gilgamesh is the main character, collecting swords across the multiverse. Feels bad.
Would make a fun CUHRAZY action game.
I can see him now, being all flamboyant and cowardly until he finds his courage because of some dumb green burd
Come to think of it something like that could be an action rogue like game... Each "floor" would end with a void portal to a new world. And at defeat, he'd flee back to the hub through a void portal.
We at least know which ff universe he came from now..... type 0 was a weird game, makes sense he came from there.

I like how the intro starts with the guitar riff, implying we are going to get another rock-sounding version of the theme. But then the trumpet comes on. It even makes sense for the hilarity of the character. The fact that the trumpet goes hard is even more amazing.

back when I was in high school, I learned how to play this on french horn, and my god, it is incredibly enjoyable. It's so bombastic! I literally had headphones on, with the GBA version of this playing while I tried to match notes.
"Enough expository banter! Now we fight like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men! For Gilgamesh...it is morphing time!"
that line right there is why the SNES fan translation is the worst translation.

It's so funny how this is the absolute biggest banger of a track in the game, gilgamesh is a rad samurai, but in reality hes just a big dweeb who is not intimidating in the slightest.
And yet he's still an actual menace since the soldiers of Castle Bal say he singlehandedly decimated their army.

Ikr. I thought the fight w gilgamesh would b way harder until I fought him, like the battle w magus on chrono trigger, which was so damn hard that the story thus far made me think he was the final boss only to find out that was only about halfway through the game!😂😂😂😂

I need someone to reccomend similar boss themes, this has a certain magic I've never heard anywhere else, it's simultaneously threatening but fun, silly but action packed, it feels so adventurous. So swashbuckling

I didn't think it was possible for this theme to sound any better but they did it. This is a perfect blend of the original chip tunes and The Black Mages version and takes the best elements of both.
After seeing this I understand the midfight grovel he does in 14 its so dirty how he buffs himself when hes doing a feint

This was my first time playing ff 5. It's probably one of my favorites.
The horn at 1:09 is almost identical to A Mighty Enemy Appears from Lost Odyssey. I know Nobuo had some input in the PR arrangements so I wonder if he stuck that here or if it's just coincidence.

And you can tell. All these tracks feel incredibly upgraded, yet they retain the same feeling of the originals.

(My biggest complaint is the Thundara Spellblade cast. Complete waste of a turn against something not weak to Lightning.)

I played FF7 Rebirth unaware this theme was from FF5, I never FF5 😭 but I want to play it again, the pixel remaster at least.
Pixel remaster themes are a thing of beauty. Gilgamesh, Zeromus, and the holy touching Opera scene from VI now fully voiced in various languages. Spanish beings the best.
I really hope they will put him in Ff16 in the future

Are the remasters turn based or did they change them to active like ff7?
1-3 are turn based, 4-6 are active
1-3 are turn based and 4-6 are ATB. 4-6 have always been ATB though so it’s not really a change.
The furry that makes videos of characters playing trumpets to their in game music needs to do one of Gilgamesh.

The only rendition of this tune that trumps this version is GaMetal’s version. The trumpet in this version is interesting, though.
The music is catchy, but going after Gilgamesh without someone having the Steal command to steal that one-of-a-kind piece of Genji equipment // Excalibur // Excali-poor that you can only get once per Gilgamesh battle and stealing it successfully was absolutely cringe-worthy!

dunno, IV had really boring characters and story, boring villain, the difficulty level was only because of bad game design, I just replayed it and I think there is too much nostalgia goin around that one.
