    • @SouljaStrife
      @SouljaStrife 2 месяца назад +1

      @@DCConnah 16 has builds? Just because it’s not focused on micromanagement that is used to hide the mediocre action aspect of a game (FF7 rebirth lol) eikon abilties, the ability to have any ability set to any eikon attack allows for far FAR more combat depth than anything rebirth has to offer with its pathetic basic movelist and awful enemy design (unreactable attacks etc) I can do more on average interacting and messing around with different abilities against benedikta then I can with anything in rebirth
      You’re confusing numbers on a screen and fluff stat mechanics with actual depth, that sort of stuff stops losing its depth once you can move the character around 24/7, rebirth doesn’t account much for that aspect of the game even if it tries to do more then remake did. The animations and attacks are fun, the issue is the way the enemies are designed, 16 outclasses rebirth by miles in terms of that.

    You arent on final fantasy or ultimaniac mode levels above the enemies and with stacks of potions NONE of your combat footage has torgal you just have potions sitting there so you're not fully using the combat system so refrain from talking about any difficulty spiking if you havent challenged yourself with the tools for a challenge the game has already presented to you, also not to nitpick the way you play but while yes leviathan has a pretty strict dps check dashing into hits and not dodging gives you less time to deal damage.. Why mention bloody palace and then say you arent interested in a game mode that does legit everything bloody palace does? I have played all of the final fantasies and I have my issues with the game for certain but this feels like a lazy review from someone thats not really passionate about the game. the dlcs and everything added would've indeed made the game as a whole A LOT stronger but its still not the mainline final fantasy we had every right to expect. You tell people to not get rising tide for it adds nothing to the base game but to get echoes of the fallen? The dlc that actually didint add anything? dont review the game because final fantasy is a big name review something you actually care about

    • @DCConnah
      @DCConnah  2 месяца назад +1

      1. I praised the difficulty spike in echoes of the fallen, base game was far too easy, I do not enjoy this game enough to warrant a second playthrough so I played on normal mode, maybe the developers should have made FF mode available from the get go?
      2. Ff16 and dmc are very differently designed games, dmc is designed to style on enemies, ff16, while advertised as having ryouta suzuki as combat designer, is not and the game rewards you for using big heavy abilities to kill enemies as fast as possible, not to style on enemies
      3. The leviathan dps check footage I showed is from my very first attempt, it felt very inconsistent as a whole, multiple attempts I got the health bar down to roughly 1/3 or 1/2 and played what I considered as perfect as possible and still failed at the very end
      4. I am absolutely passionate about the game, I wanted the DLCs to take every criticism from the base game and create a mini ff16 in a sense showcasing what it would've been like if they hadnt designed the game as if it were a ff14 expansion.

      @@DCConnah You're telling me that you're passionate about the game but you say "I do not enjoy this game enough to warrant a second playthrough so I played on normal mode" and since you've been taking breaks im going to assume you dont recognize ifrits magic burst combos which is fine but instead of you saying that you had to get some of your memory back you blame it on the phase being tedious. As I mentioned you shouldnt praise or talk about difficulty in any way if you're playing the game on easy mode its kinda weird,also Eikon bosses are more punishing in final fantasy mode.. you're also saying that a new game plus difficulty should've been allowed from level 1? When people want to see a review on rising tide I feel like there are more people like me that have actually beaten the game and have a final fantasy mode save on standby so when the two dlcs release we can play them because also people want plat trophies if not now then down the line, and since you're responsive you can answer a very important question. Why would you lie and say rising tide provides nothing over Echos of Fallen? FOR PEOPLE THAT PLAY THE GAME YOU CAN FAST TRAVEL TO QUEST GIVERS NOW TO TURN IN QUESTS. YOU CAN HAVE LOADOUTS THERE ARE TWO NEW POWERS WHILE THE DLC YOU RECOMMEND HAD 0 THERES A ROGUELIKISH MODE YOU CAN PLAY AT ARETE STONE. The people that still even care about final fantasy 16 will actually enjoy these features this dlc is for fans not newcomers consider them pleasing the fans. you dont want to replay a game that really wants to be replayed but you want to cover its content for your videos

      @jaughene 2 месяца назад +6

      @@DCConnah so much of your review becomes null and void because of your difficulty. You mention limitation I believe it was because of only 3 accessory slots? But you don’t even need accessory slots to make your character stronger because you’re on easy mode. You don’t get to talk about difficulty because you’re on easy mode. You don’t get to talk about quality of life because you didint do new game plus. Again people that enjoy ff 16 that is who the dlc is for. You do not have the passion to play the game on a mode they wanted you to play on. If you’re still playing final fantasy after all of this time you would think you’re a bit more passionate. But you put the game down after you spent hours mashing square just to say you beat the game. I know the game needs criticism but you aren’t equipped to be the one doing the criticizing the conversation doesn’t need to continue my comments have more likes than your video either you grow from the criticism or stay stagnant.

      I must have missed the part of the difficulty setting that states that fighting mechanics or enemy aggression are fundamentally changed with each difficulty.

    I couldn't ask for more Bad Takes. You complain about the Difficulty Spikes, you complain about the game Looking bad but not recalling it looking bad when you first played it, and dear god, complaining about how FFVII Rebirth has better character building, when it is part of a franchise that's existed for over 20 years building those characters they BETTER have good Character acting. There's such a thing called immersion. The first time you played the game, you were in it. You had it start to finish, you don't recognize "doll acting" or anything of the nature, because it's something you've become used to. The fact you *only* played the game when it was New, and only the DLC when the DLC came out, you completely took yourself out of the Experience. Had you played the game at start and had fun with it, then as the DLC came out, played it again in Final Fantasy Mode to get back into it for the DLC, you'd not notice Difficulty spikes, because you would be used to the combat. You'd not see "Doll Acting" because it's familiar to the rest of the game you're playing.
    And... Dear god proofread your video. Seriously "I'm not someone who wanted the ending to change. But this DLC's story sucks because it doesn't change the ending." Seriously did you think that this was a good idea to go with? It just makes you a Liar. But there's a damn good reason it's not in the final fight. Ultima unlocking his powers in Mythos -IS- the acknoledgement by the boss. At the final stage, he doesn't need to talk about how you gained any additional powers, because he's Already Done so. Ultima doesn't use Leviathan during the final battle because it's right there in the damn lore, he felt that Leviathan's power was tainted and profane because of humanity's Second attempt to make a new Mothercrystal. The First time someone tried to make a new MotherCrystal, Ultima ended human civilization (we found out THAT's the reason the Ancient culture that made all the ruins in the game world died out in the First DLC). So the DLC already explains Why Ultima wouldn't use Leviathan's power in that long stretch of calling out Primal's Powers and Clive responding in kind. He'd not use those powers because much like all of humanity's works, Ultima hated it.
    I for one, am Glad that Creative Business Unit 3 Did EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD. Before the game released, in MANY of the press interviews, Naoki Yoshida said that he didn't want another Final Fantasy XV Fiasco, where you had to buy a manga, watch a movie, read a book, watch an anime, and buy seven DLCs to get the story. He wanted players who bought the game, and only the game, to have a full story, from start of the Hero's journey to the End of it all. As of May (a month before release) there were no plans for DLC for the game for that reason, and it's only due to fan demand for more content, that he confirmed in September (3 months after the game released) that DLC was now in development. With the time frames involved, that means the team basically threw together two DLC AFTER the game came out, Echoes releasing 3 months after announcing development, and 4 months after that DLC released Rising Tide was released. THAT is the reason why "Echoes of the Fallen" is basically one location with reused assets and "The Rising Tide" took Longer as some new assets had to be made. But the end result is the same. Whether you buy the DLC or not, the story is the same. So a person can buy Just the Base Game and get the full story. The DLC are fun little extras to explore the world, but they aren't required to understand the story.

      i never mentioned the game looking bad, i said i noticed poor lip syncing in the dlc, thought it may have been dlc only then checked base game and it was just as bad, where did i mention the game as a whole? and when i compare character expression im talking about animations and how full of life characters are, which is missing from alot of ff16 cutscenes. what difficulty spikes? youre the second person to say that i was complaining about difficulty spikes when the only time i mentioned it was praising it (echoes) and the dps check from leviathan which i didnt like.
      i am not wrong with this, when i say i dont want the ending to change im talking specifically about after the ultima fight, clive on the beach, adding a single line of dialogue or an extra animation to the eikon clash for leviathan would not have changed the story or ending, its acknowledging the dlc even happened.
      im sorry but youll never convince me that they never ever considered DLC before release, that locked door and the tidal wave was there at launch, at the very minimum they had a vague idea of what DLC would entail, but to say it all started in september? if you believe that then i have a bridge to sell you.
