I just brought a Marlin 917v 17 HMR and I’m really to sell it already. I can have fun with it because it’s too loud in my backyard. I have 2 acres of land but still I have neighbors.
Great review Chris, have the older 452 version, lighter trigger spring and pic rail on top great wee rifle. Wish I could find a synthetic replacement stock as the Walnut one is mint be shame to bash it up in the field plus no change on POI due to our inclement weather .
Would the 22lr in 20 inches be a good starter carabine for PRS? Its light, with a good scope it should be perfect compared to the MDT which is almost 1.5x the cost.
It doesn't happen to mine. Sone rifles have a slight bolt handle twitch when they fire which is due to the action timing but it's not a big issue or uncommon on anything but custom actions. If it's bad, chances are the bolt wasn't fully closed in the first place.
Good review Chris, I’ve gone with a Weihrauch hw66 though as the record trigger does it for me. I understand the rabbit problem, could you explain why hares need to be shot though ? We’ve not had any rabbits for years due to Mixi.
Hi dose cz do this in a 20 Varmint as it’s listed on sportsman, I’m just asking as you didn’t mention the longer barrel, I’m thinking of getting one and not sure on the best length of barrel, would appreciate any advice, thanks
I have never understood people who buy a rifle in 17 HMR. I shoot a CZ 457 MTR 20" out to 200 meters and it out performs every rifle in 17 HMR. Plus the good ,22 lr ammo is up to 75% cheaper than 17 HMR.
how does the heavy barrel synthetic compare to the sported barrel synthetic? i know the ones you have are 22lr and 17hmr but…. i just ordered a synthetic in 22lr over a varmint with the bull barrel, hope i don’t regret it! cheers
thanks for the reply, Chris. ill be mainly using it on the bench. saved a couple hundred dollars over the varmint. really looking forward to getting it. again, thank you.@@chrisparkin431
@@chrisparkin431 i ended putting a MTR barrel in my Synthetic Stock. it's a bit more accurate but, the consistancy is much improved over the sporter barrel! shot some SK RM and Standard +. largest group i achieved at 50Y was 3.1 mostly in .2 range. very impressed! Cheers
I was lucky for once with absolutely still air which is usually the killer of 17HMR , the groups on steel were shot on a different day and affected as normal with wind drift
That rifle liked the Winchester ammo great group with it cracking review and video once again Chris 👍
Great review buddy, lovely wee short 17 with great accuracy..

My fave work horse of a hmr....
Drop a lighter trigger spring in ...add a picatinny rail......boom 💥
Scope montage is low? High?
Thank you for your videos I really enjoy watching them.Makes me wonder if all cz 457 in 17 hmr like that winchester 15.5 grain LF NTX AMMO the most?
Thank you for that.
Keith.
Hi Chris. Great reviews as always. need your help.
Want to buy cz457 but not sure 20" normal barrel or 20" varmint... Any recommendations

Does it come in 22wmr
Hi Chris,
I have seen other CZ's, that when fired the bolt handle seem to move upward. If I may could I ask why that happens?
Keith

Because they attract 'trespassers with dogs' and taste good. They are also currently in massive population on one farm with effects on the crop too
Hello, isn't the barrel too short for the calibre 17 hmr for a precision shooting distance of around 100 metres?
No
Hopefully you will do a review on some 17 hornet rifles PLEASE
If only we ever got any in the uk😏 i reviewed several in magazines 2010-2020
Great work. Thanks

All in the video
Any chance you can review a cz457 .22wmr?
I will ask

Thought I was hearing things. Definitely dropped his hat.😂😂
Fact🤣

it's slightly heavier, you wont benefit from any perceived accuracy benefit but you may prefer the handling character

Are the groups shown at 100m?
Is the group at 100m? Do you gone a test Tikka t1x? I stand between the 457/T1x in 17hmr

Great Stuff '' 🙂 💥💥💥💥
I have the same CZ but with a wooden stock, its an unbelievable rifle also I have shot foxes over a 100 yards using subsonic and killed them
For the love of god why would they make it in 22lr and 17hrm but not 22wmr, why CZ WHY!!!
Ask them. The barrels are all interchangeable anyway
You are supposed to edit out the farts Chris!🤔
Yawn
@@chrisparkin431 🤣🤣🤣
It sounded a little close to the dew point!
@@DavidR.. where is it on the video? It's most likely the mic on my chest catching the shooting bench/clothing or something?
